    Hi there, loved the video!
    Maybe you could help(really hope so), I'm riding a scooter for about 13 years, Feeling really comfortable on the road(especially in Thailand, crazy drivers), and finally about to buy my first bike now!(32 years old)
    Was planning to buy the z400, went for a test drive, and it was so fun! Stupidly I tested the z650 too, and was even more fun(powerful of course). Now have to say, both were about 10min ride, can't really understand from it (although surprisingly felt comfortable with both).
    After this long intro (sorry), do you think the z400 will be enough, and better learning curve? Or I'll get bored fast? Kinda like speed(at least in the city, still a scooter). And planning to go for out-of-town rides (I'm 6ft ,180lb).

      sobo250687 if you have the money and can be a smart / safe rider, you should buy the Z650. The weight and power isn’t overwhelming for a beginner. The Z400 is a good bike, but you will grow out of it. Plus if you want to put a ladyboy on the back, you will not have enough power. ;-). A cheaper option is a nicely used Suzuki SV650. My buddy had one several years back. Switching between my FJR and his, there was one thing that stood out like a hard on at a #metoo convention, his bike FELT like a motorsickle. While the FJR was undoubtedly tons more powerful, anything short of 6 or 7k rpm, it felt car like by comparison. The little twin just felt groovy everywhere in the powerband.

    I'm new to motorcycling. I own Kawasaki Z650 made in 2019. and I'd like to know what tires would suit my bike better concerning my riding style.
    Stock tires are Dunlop Sportmax D214
    Front 120/70 ZR17 58W (32PSI)
    Rear 160/60 ZR17 69W (36PSI)
    I don't ride super speed agressively and I'm more interested in higher mileage and improved traction during rainy weather rather than speed. Also, I want those tires to be reasonably secure during technical maneuvers like swerving, tight turns, fast braking.

    • @FancyAnimal
      @FancyAnimal  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      HD can't build an all around capable naked bike. They're still just cruisers. You buy the SV for the engine and trellis frame, the Z650 for comfort, and the MT07 for handling. But any of the bikes can be mildly tweaked to be equal. SV will give you the most customization and cheap parts.... been around for 20 years.

The handling is great and should help you gain confidence for other bikes if you decide to change up in the future. The "low" top-speed keeps you from being a complete idiot by accident or on purpose.
      It's a great bike and for the price you absolutely won't regret it. You may feel the need to go with a bigger displacement bike in the future, but you'll get years out of a 650 as a starter bike. For those seeing this comment but don't want to scroll through the video, he never says the Z650 is better than the KTM or Ducati. He ruled them out of the peer comparison due to the sizable difference in pricing, and he narrowed the comparison down to just the Z, MT-07, and SV650.

    And dude doesn't mention the best bike there is in the class......... the 2019 Honda CB650R. And of course he picks a Ducati, not surprised there.

      Announces to the world that he didn't read the video title. CB650 isn't a twin genius.
