I was kinda surprised you didn’t start with attaching a ratchet strap to that bumper corner and making a pull in an attempt to reverse the hit. You’ve had pretty good luck with the old ratchet straps and I think that would have pulled that out real nice. I have to admit sometimes I’ll find myself yelling at my screen watching but for the most part you get the desired result in the end I just gotta remember we all go about things our own way.
This is amongst my favorite DD Speed Shop videos of all time now. The level of unrest and commentary created with the inability to connect the previously mentioned and re-mentioned the budget you have for this car is pretty amazing.
Dan always pull the bent parts as straight as possible before you take anything off because you will find that you have to do much less bodywork. You are going to trash the bumper anyway so us it to pull on so you don't need to beat on the panel. I bolted in clips to my floor to use straps to pull shit out. It truly works great, seriously think about how a straighting table works at a body shop, I just use my floor with anchors doing the same thing.
I feel like instead of cutting the end of the bumper off, you could have pulled back on it with a strap, chain, or winch from the tow truck, then tap on the creases with a little pressure on it. I think it would have popped back out quite a bit. As always, I love your content. I'd love to own one of your tri-fives. Maybe you will be selling some off when I can afford it better.
I was just getting ready to go outside and finish the brake lines on our 2008 Cadillac STS and your show popped up, so now I have to watch this and then go to harbor freight to get some super long prybars.
A bit of a "USAF Training" Story. While attending Electronics training in Biloxi MS, a squadron mate was the proud owner of a 1956 Chevy Nomad. The negatives about this car began and ended with the rusty quarters complements of its origins, Pennsylvania USA. None of us had much money, in fact, $85 every two weeks stretched very little. All who owned cars had access to the AUTO HOBBY SHOP. A part of that complex was a body shop with torches, sheers, and chunks of metal to bang sheet metal into submission. His fix for the rust was a poor boy's solution. The drums out of washing machines were pounded into shape and welded into the Nomads Quarters after cutting out the rust. This memory popped into my 77-year-old head while watching you weld the dogleg on the right side of the car. Did you follow up on the Harry Eamon and Keith Leah 55 Chevy 2-door drag car INSTANT KARMA photo I shared?
I think the 55 came a long way in this video. When you’re trying to fit something together that someone else hacked apart with damaged parts you have done a hell of a job just making it a car again. Hopefully the swap meet has some pieces that you need. Looking forward to the next video.
Dan's day job is doing concourse body work on jaguars and uses these tri-fives on this channel as al stress relief 🤣🤣 Love this channel, thank you Dannie and Dan!!
Freakin love you guys together! Reminds me of my relationship with my wife. She’s my biggest fan and supporter just like Danielle for you brother! Love your work and how real you are. Keep up the good work man!💪🏼💪🏼
Mr DD, what your doing was the way I started back in the early seventies, retired in the early 2000,it was a great career it gave me all I ever needed in my family and my self. Have fun work hard it will all work out. God bless, be safe.
Hey Dan get you a football & a basketball, let the air out of them and set in place where you need to pop out panels as u inflate them to your desired position of panel ......... works great and cheap
looking at the back of the car. your left side of the trunk is overlapping like the rear panel has shifted right towards the trunk lid. Just what i see. you are the man Dan.
Looking good like your new shop I build a big shop still working on everything I had a paint & body shop for 25 years now moved to my back yard keep up the good work
If I was in a position to buy a car like this one, I’d buy it! Unfortunately I live in South Korea and that’s not an option for me. Love the progress so far.
Not necessarily, depends on how much time he wants to spend with a hammer and dolly. Besides any newer patch panels that’s quality old school sheet metal that can withstand being worked with good results.
Only thing this guys gotta say, nailed the warrior thumbnail Dan! Danielle is a lucky lady. God bless you both for your contribution to legitimate and uncorrupted content for the entire world. keep keeping it real eh!
Loving your new place and have ALWAYS enjoyed your videos. The only thing that's bothersome are those flashing, seizure inducing edits from scene to scene. Needless to say, I'll still be here watching and appreciating the work you put in to your videos as well as your cars. Have a great day! God bless.
Honestly, as rough as that car is, a set of new quarters and a one piece fiberglass front end and it would be pretty good. Id love to have it. Would be a cool start to a hotrod.
The next time you're driving back to Winnipeg you need to stop and Saskatchewan can get a crash course in Collision Repair from Kyle at Carter's Auto restyling.👍👍🇨🇦
The car already looks way better I know money's tight right now but it's a pretty solid car and it's got a 2 door title it would be nice if you put it aside till you can afford quarters and you would have something alot of guys wish they had myself being one.
I get way more stuff in my eye when I'm wearing safety glasses than without. Much like I get weld spatter up my sleeve when I'm wearing long sleeves. lol
You got a flat side some washers weld them to the quarter panel then run a bar through the washers use your come along and pull the quarter panel out by come along and it off to something else works great
Dan considering what you started with, and the fact you haven't used any actual new body panels, it looks pretty darn good. I think getting a couple of new partial panels might be worth it in the end.
I love your show you make me feel so good as a matter fact your body work and metal manipulation makes me feel like I’m chip Foose keep up the good work lol.
Hi Dan .. you could call the car patches.. try welding the pull tabs on and pulling out the dents that way .. your hard work will pay off .. this car would make a great straight axle gasser and not much else …
Liked, shared and commented. By no means did I ever think Dani wasn’t smart. But she blew me away with “That’s y we radius wheel wells” 👏👏👏 beautiful. Smart chick u got there 🍻🗽🤴🏻 48:41
Hate to be the one to tell you you're doing the body work all wrong when on those rear quarters beating on it with that big hammer and block of wood. I love it, looks mint buddy, keep it up👍😊
Most of Nasty. the time I agree with your decisions but cutting the otherwise good bumper which could have easily been staightened by undoing the quarter panel bolt and pulling the bumper back. Good solid bumper which could have easily been a cherry part when rechromed.

The pull is definitely the way. You need a pull post.
This is amongst my favorite DD Speed Shop videos of all time now. The level of unrest and commentary created with the inability to connect the previously mentioned and re-mentioned the budget you have for this car is pretty amazing.

Exactly what I was thinking!
Don't confuse him😆
Me too
That's what I was thinking, chain the bumper to another car, then with some slack, rock it back forth.
Don't forget - he only hacked up 1/3rd of a '55 bumper!
Could of straightened that bumper. Maybe
Watching you walk back and forth to the rolling cart full of what you need just cracks me up
Dan's body straightening methods kind of reminded me how Fred Flintstone would have done it. Except Dan used a hammer instead of a rock.😂
He would do less damage with a smooth rock.
I've used a rock before.
You need a shrinking hammer which has a waffle head. If you lightly hammer on the crease, it will straighten out nicely.
You truly are the Tri Five Savior! Just keeps look'in better and better.
I was just getting ready to go outside and finish the brake lines on our 2008 Cadillac STS and your show popped up, so now I have to watch this and then go to harbor freight to get some super long prybars.
Put quarters on it and you would have something respectful too sell Dan
Did I hear you say “ put it together properly “? That’s a good one Dan !
Dan and Dani are going to get in great shape with all the "steps" they are getting in!!

Ah! More racing history please!
You’re doing good Dan. New shop all full of tri 5, living your dreams and making it happen. Keep it up 👍😎✌️

Love the kustom bumper! Radius the back fenders....
No way they look ridiculous when the quarter panels are cut up
Dan's day job is doing concourse body work on jaguars and uses these tri-fives on this channel as al stress relief 🤣🤣
Love this channel, thank you Dannie and Dan!!
I thought he was a hand model for Zales?
The essence of Hot Rodiing.........making do with what you have! Rock on, Dan!
Freakin love you guys together! Reminds me of my relationship with my wife. She’s my biggest fan and supporter just like Danielle for you brother! Love your work and how real you are. Keep up the good work man!💪🏼💪🏼
On target you two car folks! A great creative approach, sculpting a car. I love your relationship dynamics. Superb! Miss Papa Mir.
Mr DD, what your doing was the way I started back in the early seventies, retired in the early 2000,it was a great career it gave me all I ever needed in my family and my self. Have fun work hard it will all work out. God bless, be safe.
You need a plentishing hammer like the one Karl gave Brent
All the hard work that you put in it. It's coming out awesome as ever. Keep up the great work.
Dan was in his glory in this vid - using his favourites tools, of course. Now you even have 2 grinders. Lol 🇨🇦
I also love that you’re using real tri 5 from the old doors to make the patch panels. Keeping it “correct” 😂
Hey Dan get you a football & a basketball, let the air out of them and set in place where you need to pop out panels as u inflate them to your desired position of panel ......... works great and cheap
The level of hackery on that passenger quarter is even more than I could have expected from DD Hack Shop.😬
looks better and sometimes better is all you can hope for.
looking at the back of the car. your left side of the trunk is overlapping like the rear panel has shifted right towards the trunk lid. Just what i see. you are the man Dan.
Looking good like your new shop I build a big shop still working on everything I had a paint & body shop for 25 years now moved to my back yard keep up the good work
Get a soccer ball, deflate it and place it behind the fender. Fill it and tap with the hammer while it pushes out the sheetmetal.
You know the better job you do the more money in the end . If you give up on the car you lose money. Love watching productive Dan
If I was in a position to buy a car like this one, I’d buy it! Unfortunately I live in South Korea and that’s not an option for me. Love the progress so far.
Thank you so much for showing a way to fix the notorious fender crunch.
Hey Denny try using a football with a needle valve and put air in it and it'll push out then out
Thats Definitely a Thousand Footer and it looks Really nice from NYC Nice work Dan and Dani
Taking shape a little at a time. You may think about some quarter sections, will look a lot better and sell better.
This '55 is Dan's "Coat of Many Colors". Stitched together from bits others discarded - with love. In a way only DD Speed Shop can do.
Great job on this so far. looking better every time. Always loved the 55, hard to come by around here. Keep up the great work!!
That 55 is looking better every show . Keep up the progress.
Looks like a lot of body fill for that one Dan.
Not necessarily, depends on how much time he wants to spend with a hammer and dolly. Besides any newer patch panels that’s quality old school sheet metal that can withstand being worked with good results.
Thanks for the content
Dude!! DD speed shop at it's best!!! You see beyond it recycle worth!!!✌️
Use one of the new scissor Jacks to pop the door panels out
Only thing this guys gotta say, nailed the warrior thumbnail Dan! Danielle is a lucky lady. God bless you both for your contribution to legitimate and uncorrupted content for the entire world. keep keeping it real eh!

Dan used put panels in most cars, hope since you in New place, you don't get lazy and cut corners
Well done on the thumbnail😂 dan the barbarian
Favorite thumbnail yet
ARBYS, we have the meats!
Honestly, as rough as that car is, a set of new quarters and a one piece fiberglass front end and it would be pretty good. Id love to have it. Would be a cool start to a hotrod.
Bringing back a 55 Chevy that might have been scrapped.
Thats clearly why its called PANEL BEATING. Emphisis on the word BEATING. unlike nowadays... panel replacement. Such skill Dan.
That driver quarter "repair" would have been so much easier and better if you had started by pulling it back where the bumper was shoved into it.
The next time you're driving back to Winnipeg you need to stop and Saskatchewan can get a crash course in Collision Repair from Kyle at Carter's Auto restyling.👍👍🇨🇦
Use a deflated football. Push the between the frame and side wall add air to the ball till dent pops out.
The car already looks way better I know money's tight right now but it's a pretty solid car and it's got a 2 door title it would be nice if you put it aside till you can afford quarters and you would have something alot of guys wish they had myself being one.

Jigsaw would be a fitting name for the old girl . I want to see her cruising the coast next year with Newbern
Just want to say hi to you all and keep up the good work. Can't wait to see it done
Bring back the Chevell
Learn to spelle Chevelle. Just joking I agree.
She is coming together
Dan considering what you started with, and the fact you haven't used any actual new body panels, it looks pretty darn good. I think getting a couple of new partial panels might be worth it in the end.
They said I was a hack. Nice shop.
I love your show you make me feel so good as a matter fact your body work and metal manipulation makes me feel like I’m chip Foose keep up the good work lol.
Welcome to oil can nightmare on left rear quarter panel.
Looking better all the time
Great work on the 55 it's going to be back on the road in no time 😊
To fix 55right,you should have put new complete quarters in it
Hi Dan .. you could call the car patches.. try welding the pull tabs on and pulling out the dents that way .. your hard work will pay off .. this car would make a great straight axle gasser and not much else …
You need a porter power to push the quarter back and get it in shape a little at a time
Pretty sure he has one, well atleast at the other house. I think I remember him using one on Dani’s Nova.
A dent puller could also be pretty much helpful, I guess. 😮
Liked, shared and commented. By no means did I ever think Dani wasn’t smart. But she blew me away with “That’s y we radius wheel wells” 👏👏👏 beautiful. Smart chick u got there 🍻🗽🤴🏻 48:41
Oh lord a got off work and went to work day! Props!!
Dan - Looking into adding a "floor pot" or two to the new shop. They come in really handy. Would have made that repair easier.
Great show keep up the amazing work be safe my friends God bless all a work of art in movement be soon a rolling work of art bye Dan go
Hey Dan&Dannie
Coming along nicely Dan.
Take care of One Another 😊
Dan you need a small portable frame machine. It would make that easy!
Hate to be the one to tell you you're doing the body work all wrong when on those rear quarters beating on it with that big hammer and block of wood. I love it, looks mint buddy, keep it up👍😊
Think of any of the cars you have fixed this one could use new quarters! It is a real 2dr and a "really solid" car
Harbor freight has a Maddoxx brand body hammers and dolly set . I think its around 60.00 bucks.
You need Mer to come out and help you with that body work, maybe not. He's got a cool azz Bricklin he's probably working on. 😊
Body guys are gonna have a rough time watching this one 😂
Ahahaha,rock auto body,good one😎
Dan take your ass to Manitoba and get the rest or your tools, parts and equipment love your show
Pry bar can be your friend.
Most of Nasty. the time I agree with your decisions but cutting the otherwise good bumper which could have easily been staightened by undoing the quarter panel bolt and pulling the bumper back. Good solid bumper which could have easily been a cherry part when rechromed.
That's a moist biscuit right there
You need a basketball and football Dan. They are awesome for those hard to reach dents!!
❤❤ love your videos awesome content😊
@ddspeedshop did you not bring all your tools from Old shop?
Love dan keep them coming.
Love the intro wall paper hahaha.
Dan, I always had a feeling you were sandbagging, hiding all that manliness under those layers of flannel!😏
I agree with you a new lower might be the trick
You need to video the swap meet and show use what its like🎉
Hey man, GrandPaw was doin donuts in his F250 when he clipped the 55 more door...😅😅😅😂😂🎉🎉
It's looking great. Nothing beats a BFH! 😂
U Need Heat My Boy! Oxy As
Any real 2dr with paperwork,is worth saving
