First time I’ve told this story. My mom and dad would dance in the kitchen to this. My father died when i was little. And I never understood till i was older. That late at night I would catch her dancing still to this song like she had a partner. Now I understand she was grieving. Love that woman

Hi India, A great reaction to a nice song. I remember back when this song came out and I bought the 45 single of this song. India, when you get a chance, if not already, listen to the studio version of this song. The music is more richer than this live version.
This song was written by Jack Tempchin, the same guy who wrote Peaceful Easy Feeling. Jack is a treasure.
I was a teenager when his music started n these song I know from my dad a musician and singer who moved South to record on tapes back then RIP dad.
This song is so intense that I always found it awkward, and wouldn't to agree to even dance to it with the wrong guy, lest it cast a spell that I didn't want!

I think Johnny did this back in 1966 or so. I remember as I was 16 at the time.
Believe it or not,the original recording was even better-it was perfect! I had it on the old 45 record.Just beautiful.
