I love 16's relationship to 17 and 18. They just enjoy him so much. It's really sweet.
I actually like the androids in this more than in the actual show
+Conor Note well ofcourse each episode takes3 months here while the dbz show was 1 episode 1 week
I like it too. They really make a cooperate team, unlike another dbz villains, who kill each other when they are no longe useful (vegeta and nappa, for example).
I like all the characters better in this rendition. They are all hilarious and yet stays true to or is augmented slightly from the show characters, for the better.

Well, as 16 states later, he is actually an android where 17 and 18 are actually cyborgs. Dr. Gero had nothing to save of his son, and in making 16 to be like him seemed to only remember his son liked birds. It is really sad.
I guess you could say 16 is simple-minded, the same with 19. But that's because they are androids programmed by Dr. Gero. If you want to call someone simple-minded, you only need look at the one who built them.

@@cunningsmile4166 Actually, I do like the time travel method in Avengers Endgame for is very creative for it wouldn't have consequences (e.g 2012 Loki escaping) due to going back in time and creating multiple alternate timelines while keeping your own timeline intact.
Actually Endgame and DBZ have same time travel rule. Trunks come back to the past, ended up creating new timeline instead of changing history. Just like Endgame

The then proceeds to spend the last part whining and saying that "Cell's too strong" and "I can't do this" when he, in reality, could still have continued dominating cell.

i honestly love the androids relationship in this. 18 and 17 actually feel like brother and sister. and 17 actually has a personality that makes feel sorry for him when cell absorbs him.

@@samsonguy10k probably because of trunks letting the others know what happened. I know I'm going by the abridged but it seems because Goku knew of his illness, he didnt die and maybe gave them motivation to seek him and not destory the world because of boredom.
@@samsonguy10k my theory is because Goku was still alive they had a purpose. Maybe if they had killed him they'd have ended up bored and started going psychopath. I also think that a more powerful being (Cell) showing up helped them be more humble as they went from all-powerful to helpless victims in a matter of minutes. Plus, 16 caring for 18 might have reconnected her with her original human emotions. In the anime, while she hides from Cell, she subconsciously grabs a squirrel to protect it from Cell's blast before she dismisses it and throws it on the ground. Like she's fighting her real emotions. Anyway, it's all theories :p
@@lxenfrance3976 Got a good point. In Trunks's timeline, Goku died from his "heart attack" before 17 and 18 were activated. And by all appearances, 16 was not activated. I don't know if Trunks's timeline was embellished more in the original telling, but my best bet is Gero felt so cheated in not killing Goku himself, he put new commands in 17 and 18 before activating them to just go crazy. (Because we do see how far he gets trying to command them after they are activated)
I don't get why they didn't just move Goku to Kami's lookout since I'm fairly sure the androids didn't know Kami existed.

Yes and no. There are 4 time lines. Trunks's timeline, cell's timeline, this timeline, and the timeline where Zamasu takes Goku's body. Zamasu then goes to trunks timeline for some reason not quite sure why.

I'm rewatching this series for like the 6th or 7th time, and I love how they wrote 17 to be like the supportive big brother to 16, who's like the neurodivergent younger brother. It's actually kind of a sweet relationship.
