I'm so proud that my Uncle gets to work at Tom Anderson and do the staining and finishing on almost every guitar that comes out of that shop! BEST GUITARS OUT THERE!
I used to be a contact for Tom Anderson at their canadian dealer. 400 instruments per year is incorrect Anderson makes about 750 guitars a year. They have about 14 people on staff. Amazing company, if you want to spec a guitar out you can call them and Tom (THE Tom Anderson) or Roy will help you spec out a guitar. I have a lot of their guitars....absolute top notch.
Wow Rob I actually had to play it back to be sure I heard correctly when you said, "so it's like a step up from an se or squire"....That Anderson is about 100 steps above an se or squire...lol First one I played was Joe Holmes, who played for Ozzy for a bit. Just amazing guitars.
@upgutter1 Not to split hairs, but Tom does offer "Vintage Voicing" which as you split the humbucker, it also weakens the single coil signal to give you that more vintage tone.
I have one of the early Schecters, I think Tom Anderson may have had a hand in making it. A gorgeous guitar, and that seems to be a guitar that's right up my alley.
Tom himself says that yearly production is about 750 pieces per year. I have talked to him about production numbers and he also rolls out that number on his DVD.
@CavefishX I have had TA's for since 96, and most of them Floyds, but the way the guitar is built, it really doesn't matter. They stay in tune no matter what you bridge you use and no locking tuner needed, they are set up perfectly... Get one, you won't regret it!
their record is 829 guitars in one year. they shoot for 18 a week and only work four or five days a week with three main builders. this info is from a phone call with tom :)
Hey Rob, nice vid as always. One question: Do you know, how they work the drop top, that it bends around the arm rest on the front? Simply bending or what? Cheers mate ;)
@schecterguitarsfan About $3400 US, depending what you features you add. You can get a good deal on ebay though...I got mine there, and it was absolutely flawless...no dings whatsoever, all case candy and the orginal case too...$1650. Has a quilt top with a fireburst finish. Looks like a mirror, and it's about as close to dead-mint as you can ask for. It remains my favorite and most used guitar. I always grab my Anderson, no matter what style I'm fixing to play.
@upgutter1 Taylor makes 191 a day, Martin makes 232 a day, fender makes a whopping 550 american and mexican strats a day, not counting their squiers and over seas guitars. These numbers are based off yearly sales/365, projections, interviews, and retail lists.
beauty of a guitar but I think Rob tends to get a little heavy pick handed when it comes to playing subtle notes...I guess he gets excited with all the great ax's to play with
This is a fine made guitar however, in my opinion the tone doesn't even begin to touch on what a PRS can do. This sounds very shallow and harsh (tone wise)...I do have to say though that color is stunning!
All I wanted from the second rob picked it up was to hear it chug. And then he said can I just hit this destitution!🙌. Yes monkey lord you may!!!!! How dare that guy say its horrible??
@prs907 That's a snap review if I ever read one. I'm sure the amp, player, camera mic, etc has nothing to do with the tone you are hearing, right? ; ) PRS makes killer guitars. I can find dozens of You Tube clips of PRS that would be terrible too. Try one before you write Andersons off as second fiddle to PRS. I think you would be surprised. Maybe even converted.
this is like watching Nigel from spinal tap ,,, only these guys arent joking , ,,, here in north America i know we dont have a clue about music or tone or any thing like that , but gibsons and fender still the standard . so why buy some trying to be both ?
nope, it's the curves of the body of the guitar, that kind of smooth, amost feminine curve is very boring to do, specially on the hardest wood, they even burn sometimes...

Hi mate, I am not a massive pedal user but I have to say the Hardwire pedals are second to none!
I played an Anderson Telecaster a few months ago! best guitars ever! thx Tom for these guitars!
That is a beautiful guitar, my personal fav out of all the ones you have reviewed in the past few days.
@upgutter1 Not to split hairs, but Tom does offer "Vintage Voicing" which as you split the humbucker, it also weakens the single coil signal to give you that more vintage tone.
i can't even imagine how good that sounds in person!
Nice use of the Matchless Avalon with that, cool clean tones! Getting tempted here...
I have one of the early Schecters, I think Tom Anderson may have had a hand in making it. A gorgeous guitar, and that seems to be a guitar that's right up my alley.
Another awesome video Rob. Great guitar, great tone and great playing.
Tom himself says that yearly production is about 750 pieces per year. I have talked to him about production numbers and he also rolls out that number on his DVD.
that's the guitar that suits you the most since Wednesday's untimely departure :D
seriously mate you and that thing were made for eachother
Rik

looks like an amazing guitar.

I have one like this, but mine is not hollow and mine has quilt maple top. this guitar is really amazing
RIP Geoff, missed by all who were lucky enough to know him!
that Les paul looking thing with the floyd behind the guys head at about 1:17 or so, what is that? it looks awesome
i appreciate when builders use the bare minimum of acrylic so you can see the light glimmer off the flame!
Awesome guitars those andersons, awesome prices too of course!
That guitar was beatiful! Not so often you see such a good looking guitar.
Was I not paying attention or did you not mention the price?
Everyones gotta love Chappers demoing guitars :-)
Can't fault that - its a beauty!
what an awesome haven for guitarists !!!!!!!
I love that *whistle* lol
Rob, world guitars have any caparisons?
@joniiboy Yeah that's a ESP eclipse, though I'm not sure what model. Could be a Custom.
Where can you buy the full set of Hardwire pedals like that with the pedal board?
Hey Rob, nice vid as always.
One question: Do you know, how they work the drop top, that it bends around the arm rest on the front? Simply bending or what?
Cheers mate ;)
Rob picks so hard, ice picks are coming out of my headphones and stabbing my brain.
rob grab that les paul in the back at 1:33 that has the EMG's and the floyd. it looks killer. and that guitar you have........ it looks like a dream
that lick from 3:17 is amazing!!
Bob I didn't catch, but does this guitar have a coil split for the bridge pickup?
A real impressive guitar !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The intro song was Bleed the Light, right? (hey that rhymed :D)

That is a step closer to heaven that store I mean! -PK
Those hardwire pedals are ace
The model of that distortion hardwire pedal please?
Wow, the clean stuff at the end sounded great! how much was that guitar selling for?
3 grand
I wish I had money like the guys that own that shop.
"Do some cooking Rob..." - that some really nice stew! :P
Love you to buddy!
I havn't been looking that hard but it seems like most people have hollow tom andersons. Are their solids not that great?
I have the TL-2 metal pedal its awesome!!!!!!! sounds crazy!!
@upgutter1 Taylor makes 191 a day, Martin makes 232 a day, fender makes a whopping 550 american and mexican strats a day, not counting their squiers and over seas guitars.

what' the opening and ending track name
Wow, that thing sings!
@joniiboy It looks like an ESP, but I can't tell for sure.
This looks a lot like the newer ML-1s with the flamed maple veneer and trams black stain.
The 'used to work for Schecter' thing bugs Tom.
They also make about 700 guitars a year according to Tom.
Love Anderson guitars
beauty of a guitar but I think Rob tends to get a little heavy pick handed when it comes to playing subtle notes...I guess he gets excited with all the great ax's to play with
Were can i buy this guitar ?
A touch of Nickelback... I like it haha. Nice guitar.
who's better suhr or tom anderson?
Well looks a lot like another guitar I know...
+Sidetrollers Oh my God....another incarnation of the ML-1 Owww....
nice guitar
how much does that matchless cost?
Nice guitar...but where are the lefty models? :o)
Fuck it all, I'm saving for that guitar. That exact Guitar.
This is a fine made guitar however, in my opinion the tone doesn't even begin to touch on what a PRS can do. This sounds very shallow and harsh (tone wise)...I do have to say though that color is stunning!
3:30 More or less, Burn it Down by Alter Bridge
@RobChappers love you three :)
All I wanted from the second rob picked it up was to hear it chug. And then he said can I just hit this destitution!🙌. Yes monkey lord you may!!!!! How dare that guy say its horrible??
+daniel ellis Cause the matchless is known for cleans, and the guitar is a sig guitar for a clean player I'm assuming.
has anyone compared this to a suhr? like guthrie govan model?
this guitar kinda looks like mine ( ibanez sa 220 fm )
it is actually ~700 guitars per year

You hang out there a lot eh? ;)

this is like watching Nigel from spinal tap ,,, only these guys arent joking , ,,, here in north America i know we dont have a clue about music or tone or any thing like that , but gibsons and fender still the standard . so why buy some trying to be both ?
I AM FIRST :p NICWE PEDALS
Why does it seem like Anderson guitars are always HOLLOW drop tops. Why not ever solid body with a top?
Sorry mate, I was being sarcastic...
i thought 500 a year was many, but when i heard 500 a day for taylor.............
i make 1 guitar every 18 months.....still no sales.. ;-)
you would have to do it for free of course.....sick sick people.
Tasty! Like fried chicken!
tasty... like raw chicken...
@25jonathan probably about as much as a used car...
nope, it's the curves of the body of the guitar, that kind of smooth, amost feminine curve is very boring to do, specially on the hardest wood, they even burn sometimes...
Respond to this video... No offense intended.
that store should be ashamed for having so much crappy stuff... i'll do them a service by taking all of it off of their hands. lol jk
incredible body and pickups.......ugly ugly fretboard
