      Anita is 100% right in this scenario. I've been on both sides of hiring situations like this(sans being called a whore). I was once hired and when I came in on my first day, they literally told be nevermind, we changed our minds on the project development. I also hired someone and after an hour into their first supposed day, I called them only to be told they decided to take a different job. All I'm asking is just to send a freaking email or text or something in these situations. It's one thing if interviews are still happening, but if an offer has been accepted, at least inform the other party that you have declined theirs. The company has a much greater responsibility to do this than the employee so it's sad how bad companies can be about this.

      In the UK when you are out of work you have to do 35 hours a week job search and must attend all interviews and apply for as many suitable jobs as possible or they stop your benefits. Once had 5 interviews in a week. HR should know its is bad PR threatening candidates and very unprofessional, so is firing people with no good reason as employees may have family who are customers. So suggest they make sure their brain engaged before they open their big mouth, big picture and all. Peace 'n' out

Hopefully they kept their posts up and their home addresses can be tracked to find the local police for each person. The women's right commission should also be used as in this case I dont feel it would be an abuse of the system to bring cases against all those individuals. Those who victim blaming her are used to the toxicity and get angry at her for not swallowing it and suffer with them. She not only spat it out, she’s pointed at it so that others don’t suffer. They are furious that now they are the only ones who will suffer while others avoid and have healthy life lol.

  • @alarriag1

    Many years ago I met coworkers from Anita’s country. All of us worked for a big international company and met them during training. Great guys to hang out with, hard workers, and smart. But then the topic of hierarchy and bosses came up. The mood became sour: They were absolutely unwilling to question a boss, were totally conditioned to the “hierarchy”, and even became very defensive when posed the question of if they would do whatever crazy thing their boss asked of them, to which they affirmed. I then understood their mentality: If you were lucky enough to land a decent paying position in that country you better be always thankful, do as you’re told and “play the game”. It has a lot to do with culture, and the level of open questioning of authority we afford ourselves in western countries, is way less acceptable in those parts of the world. The reaction of the recruiters and many commenters is not surprising.

    • @FlabbyTabby
      @FlabbyTabby 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Even in "Western" countries, the same kind of crap happens. It's just that some supremacists deny that it happens because they think themselves superior.
      I've seen and experienced plenty of abusive behaviour. Victims of such abuse are always disbelieved and discriminated against. The abusers know they can get away with it with zero consequences because everyone else thinks of the victim as a lesser person, less than human and one not deserving of rights.

    • @alarriag1
      @alarriag1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@FlabbyTabby Certainly, but when you compare, I’ll rather be a “victim” in an imperfect western work environment where at least you have some choices and some protections, rather than a work environment highly conditioned against employees cemented by strong cultural traditions. You can be abused in a western work environment as much as anywhere else, but it remains your choice whether you want to stick with it or give it a shot somewhere else where you have a chance of a different culture. Lol no. Lots of employers brand you as a problem employee if you tell them that you had bad experiences at a previous workplace. Complain about abusive behaviour from your previous boss? The people who were just praising you will immediately say you're not suitable for the job. Doesn't matter where you are in the world, abusive workplaces, bosses and practices always exist. It's not that easy to just "get a new job". Even when everyone's hounding you to come interview with them.
      Lots and lots of discrimination factors into whether or not you can get a job.
      It's based on how the hiring manager, interviewers and recruiters perceive you, not your actual skills.

      As a Pakistani-American, I think there may be two reasons. the Caste system where the higher caste will keep the lower castes down by conditioning them to not question "their superiors". The other is colonialism and the mindset it promoted. For 200 years the British were our bosses and were unquestionable, even after independence the attitude of don't question the boss probably got passed down. I wish Tipu Sultan had succeeded before Gandhi or Jinnah since he was allied with the French and could have imported the French Revolution's attitudes on such issues while Gandhi and Jinnah were educated in the UK and carried the old British attitudes to some extent.

    "This would never happen in the US."
    Sure, maybe not a direct threats like this.
    But the US is the capitol of capital.
    American companies are MASTERS of gaslighting and packaging predatory policy and pitching it to prospective employees as though they are "perks" of working for the company all in the name of profit.
    John Oliver had a great example in a recent episode of Last Week Tonight. In his episode on the trucking industry, he exposes how trucking companies pitch "independent contracting" for their company and leasing the company's trucks as "freedom" when really it frees the company of all responsibility and places all liability, truck maintenance, and fuel costs on the trucker.
    I've worked for predatory companies abroad. But since returning to the US, I don't really think American companies are better for the employee. They're just better at managing the optics and performative justice.

    Well considering the attitudes towards women in India, that something like that happened in India is no surprise. Though honestly, i find how open they are about the misogyny to be refreshing. Like no surprises in sight.

      Firstly, it is disgusting that such an incident happened. I entirely condemn it. This is a classic case of victim blaming. On the other hand it is wrong to generalize that "such attitudes" towards women is rampant in India. Based on what I've seen so far, it is the US that often ranks among the top place when it comes to misogyny, crime cases against women per capita. I don't wish to draw comparisons between India and the US. But these problems are not unique to India. The US is not immune.

      @@krishnasiddharth5032in the US, women are encouraged more to speak up for themselves, in India women receive much more repercussions for doing that. You saw how extreme the victim blaming towards this indian woman already is when she dares to speak Up for herself about this recruiter Situation. So of course women in India dare much less to file a lawsuit.That doesn't mean less misogyny etc is happening towards them, it Just means society is punishing them for speaking up

      @@ThisAndThat4All Regarding women not being encouraged to speak up, I agree with you. It's true. But I don't agree with the main/starting comment in this thread.

    Stories like these make me happy I didn't go into a corporate job. I don't have to deal with recruiters, don't have to make a resume, also don't have to beg for raises, just get paid for my skills and the lack of workers in my profession.

    Recruiters are a very salty bunch. Got a offer for 20 a hour from one, turned them down because I could do better, and had a job getting 19 a hour already. Get 25 a hour now.

    Ive discovered your channel only now, but boy was I waiting for someone to call these people out. LinkedIn is far off from the "professional networking spirit" and becomes more and more a social media platform for people whose whole self respect comes from their LinkedIn job title.

That's great that Anita made the best choice for herself and exposed that creeper recruiter 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾She wasn't getting "rewarded" for any "company loyalty" (before she was officially hired!!), guaranteed.

    I had a couple of annoying incidents with recruiters latest of them the recruiter that refused the salary I requested because of budget constraints and when I got an offer that agreed to my demands then the budget suddenly increases out of no where to top my new offer !!
