Streetfighter gotta be my favourite, or go-to. DOA is so fluid, loved it since PS2. Yu Yu Hakusho Makyō Tōitsusen is one of the best... I have fond memories of Evil Zone and Bushido Blade too. I love SF6; my son with modern controls can hold his own. His technique is on point. MK charging for the easy special moves is sad face fr. Soul Calibre PS2 story modes were great, as were all the DW Empires games, Kesson too imo. I'm waffling, but I want that game lol. Final answer, Street Fighter 3 Third Strike on the Dreamcast with the Dreamcast stick, the grey and green one. On a curved screen with an upscaler. 😂😂😂😂😂 You know I'll enjoy this code more than anyone else 😂😂😂
Kinda wish i didn't lose interest in these types of games over the years, seeing the variety that we have today. Some 25 years ago, i would sit at my grandma's house, looking through ps1 game catalogues, and pixel art 2D fighting games kept catching my eye and i'd fantasize about playing the ones i never could get my hands on. I would have been losing my mind probably if i saw this one back then lol
According to my Switch-log I've played more of Garou Mark Of The Wolves than any other fighting game (including Smash Bros!)... So this looks right up my alley Really impressive for such a small team... respect!
I got my physical copy yesterday on Switch and I couldn't be happier with it! Very cool 2d fighter. Can't believe this was created by 1 guy! Character designs are great! And there are Jiggle physics!!!!! So u gotta love that! Enjoying it so much I also ordered the physical for PS5 for my collection!
King is my favourite in Tekken, so I’m instantly drawn to Alexander in this one. Definitely want to pick this up and introduce my kids to “winner stays on”
Oh, the quarters lined up on the edge of the arcade cabinets back in the day--this brings back great vibes. Hard to pick one favorite but top 3 would have to be: Street Fighter 2, Mortal Kombat 2, and Killer Instinct. It's so cool to see a primarily one-man dev put something like this together as an homage to some of the best fighters from yesteryear while putting his own spin on things. Very cool. I'm not really a fighting game guy I always feel like I couldn't get the flow of the combos, but I always have a fond memory playing Tekken 3 on the Playstation. As a horny little kid I always finish the story mode with Anna because the ending cinematics have a guy opening her bikini and got beat up for it LOL
I've been following this game for a while now, looks like a KoF golden era fighter, really impressive considering just one person made most of the heavy lifting.
The plot sounds as if everyone was just throwing random ideas and they decided to mash them all together, but the gameplay looks solid and that's what matters.
This looks like it would fill my nostalgia love along with modern fighting game features. I tend to go towards Smash Brothers first, but love the Mortal Kombat series, bugs and all.

My favorite fighter on the switch is blaze blue cross tag battle and this game looks awesome too. I must say these sprite games have a charm that’s unbeatable hahaha.
Favourite fighter? An in game? Capcom vs snk 2 is handsdown my all time favourite. I squealed in excitement during that last nintendo direct when they revealed the capcom fighting collection 2.

I can’t remember the name, but the backgrounds reminded me of the fighting game that was handrawn, had a Viking and a futuristic cop, and there were background fatalities. They look amazing! Great review.

My favourite was actually a game no-one can remember where you fight a tiger (not king/ Tekken) an actual tiger, wish I knew what it was , otherwise it would be K I on SNES just loved the music.
You have a parry, Rush Parry which breaks combos when you are on the ground but no burst. Word is that there are a lot of infinites (easy ones with just a jab for the main character and also juggles that can't be broken), so I hope that's patched very soon.

I was excited for this one when I saw it in the upcoming g releases video, ended up playing it on PC first and was extremely disappointed…didn’t see anything g new here, and the graphics looked much worse on a big screen
As a hardcore fighting game player, I have to say this; I know you're sponsored to put this out, but this game is in a very shit state in all honesty when it comes to character balance and polish. It needed another 6 to 12 months in the oven. It needs a lot of play testing. The whole getting stunned when stamina runs out is going to make people pissed off as that mechanic has killed a lot of fighting games. It's also VERY over-priced for what it is. For £35 I expect fully voiced and animated cutscenes during a story, not this static-image-text-only garbage that is in the game. That's some ego pricing if I've ever seen it. Compare this to the 'MARVEL vs. CAPCOM Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics', and it's a no-brainer as to what you should actually buy.

This look pretty solid. My favorite fighting game is in terms of 2D would be a toss up between street fighter 3rd strike and KOF 13. The chunky sprites definitely give me KOF vibes. I've heard a few criticisms of the game but it looks like it could be a fun time. I'm all for more fighting games in the indie space so I may have to check this one out.
Bring it on! The timing of this release couldn’t be any better for me. I have just finished playing through Mortal Kombat 1 and have recently been playing through Street Fighter anniversary collection again. Street Fighter 2 on the SNES will always blow my favourite. 4 of my mates and me in my bedroom having tournaments for hours.
This game doesn't play anything like Tekken and is also missing a lot of polish. If you can wait till next year, Capcom Fighting Collection 2 does have some 3D games in the mix which are very solid... If you want to get something soon that are 2D, Pocket Bravery, any Switch BlazBlue, many of the Arcade Archives, Pocket Rumble, FighterZ, Under Night, Rivals of Aether and Slap City are some of your options. Fantasy Strike and Fighting EX Layer Another Dash are also free.
I’ve been hankering for a new 2D/Pixel fighter that has a new story behind it. One that’s also easy to get into without a tonne of baggage and melange of fighting systems and modes and styles ala EXmoves and stuff; basically a fresh fighter that sucks you in and gives you blisters on your thumbs (like you got when you first played SF2 as a kid!) The fact it’s also made by a one man team is just the cherry on top! Hook me up via IV nurse! 😅
I purchased this game and highly disappointed. The gamed feels unfinished any over priced. This game is complete trash. It has a lot of potential but very bad game.

My favourite fighting game ever is Street Fighter Alpha 2 on the Saturn. Great balance between easy to learn and difficult to master.

That game still looks and plays great. You can tell they put a lot more love and money into that versus the last two Soul Calibur games
