    Thank you for uploading this. Funny story that lead to this, I was getting dinner with my mother's credit card, and somehow the card slipped off my hands and went inside the door panel, I was shocked that it did that and I had to find a way to do this. I got it out and it was all good hehe. I want a Type R too ngl

    Great tutorial - short, sweet, and to the point. I had an audio shop install Dynamat into the rear deck and all four doors of my ‘17 Civic Touring Sedan, and ever since there’s been a noticeable buzzing sound on the passenger side door with bassy music. This process seems very simple and hopefully I’ll find my problem. Thanks!

    • @piercedasian
      @piercedasian  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Glad you liked the vid! The buzzing can sometimes be resolved with using EPDM foam behind the door panels. It is how the dealerships stop rattling interiors. Just pull the door panel off, apply the sticky foam strips as needed and then re-install parts and pray the rattles and buzzes go away :). Did you notice the sound improved significantly with the Dynamat installed?

    • @MisterBaseball200
      @MisterBaseball200 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      piercedasian If anything I seem to feel the bass a little more and the system has a little extra punch to it than before. Honestly, it was nothing drastic/night&day IMO, but I do think it helped.

    • @piercedasian
      @piercedasian  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      While my reply to this is super late, I honestly am not sure how to remove the armrest from the panel short of drilling out the factory plastic rivets on the backside of the panel. Don't quote me on doing that, this is just a guess since I've never had the need to take the arm rest off.

    Hi nice video. I too have rattles in my CTR door panels and was wondering what you did to eliminate them. It looks like I see a piece of foam securing the top and middle sections to each other near the front of the door panel. Was that all you did, or were there others?

    • @piercedasian
      @piercedasian  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Andy, the CTR does have some foam attached to it from the factory but those extra foam strips (if you can see them clearly in the vid) are my own doing. Honda gave me body foam tape when I politely asked for a small strip and they gave me a fairly long piece so that I could address my vibration issues on my own (I don't trust stealerships ever) to work on my vehicles. Since the application of foam tape that the rattles have diminished considerably.

    • @aboczsr
      @aboczsr 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@piercedasian Thanks for the reply (and the great videos). I bought some Kilmat and applied it along the seam between the two panel sections and the panel rattle seems to have disappeared. I also used a frequency generator app to see if I could find any other rattles while I had the panel off and I ended up finding a few other problem areas that I solved with either Kilmat or weatherstripping tape. I'll be swapping out my sub in a few days and definitely appreciate the Sub video too. Cheers!

    I got an 18 civic sport hatchback with a super obnoxious rattle in passenger side door , did you find any certain clips/screws or even harnesses that need to be secured when you have door panel off was gonna poke at mine later today see if i can solve this annoying problem

    • @piercedasian
      @piercedasian  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The rattle could be clips that are not fully seated in the retainer slots on the door card. What I found helps is getting some sound deadening material that you normally use for car audio installations and applying it on thin areas or large areas of the door panel to kill off the vibrations. The 10th gen does have some weird buzzes that I had to fix (don't even think of trusting the dealership to fix it). Been several years now and so far so good for my car.

    • @droptopkennedy
      @droptopkennedy 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@piercedasian gotchy so what just put some sound deadening or foam sheeting between the actual door and where the panel meets the door?

    • @piercedasian
      @piercedasian  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry for my super late reply. Yes sound deadening material between the door and door panel would usually suffice to get rid of any buzzes and rattles.

      sometimes these panel pieces fit together very tightly. It helps to dismantle the panels when its really warm out or in the sun to heat things up. No panel should ever require excessive force to remove. Just wiggle and tug and with enough patience it will come out.

    • @piercedasian
      @piercedasian  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can always use a screwdriver wrapped in a thin cloth or tape (to prevent scratching). All you really need to be honest is pop just a pop clip or two and then the rest can be EASILY pulled off by hand.

  • @purifiedbleach1196

    The plastic panel that has the window switches is making an annoying vibration sound, did u ever get the same vibration/rattle?

    • @piercedasian
      @piercedasian  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      ah yes... the annoying 10th gen door rattle problem. Yes I did fix mine and it was stupid easy to fix. Just get some foam tape (the dealership has tons of this stuff that they gave me for free at the parts counter) and after popping off the door panel I just stuck the foam tape on the parts that were causing the rattle and now it's dead silent. Best way to identify rattles is while you're driving and its rattling, press on where you think the rattle is emanating from. That will help you establish where to place the foam tape onto on the back of the panel.

    • @piercedasian
      @piercedasian  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      True that. I can't imagine people wanting to work on their door panels in cold weather but it DOES happen - Thanks for that tip!

    • @cstrx11
      @cstrx11 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      piercedasian I did it because I literally had that only occasion when I could do it in a garage in 12 deg C and not on the street in 6 deg C. It was still too cold but I din’t want to wait half a year for better weather. Anyways, I replaced the fron door lower speakers and I’m glad with the result. I didnt find your video back then, but watching it now I can say nice work, good video! Looks much easier then it was for me in the cold :) May I ask how warm the temp was back then?

    • @piercedasian
      @piercedasian  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nice job on the speaker replacements. I am tempted to put better speakers and more amps I to my car but for now I am okay with the factory sound. I believe it was around September when I did this door panel bid and it was still probably 15-17C outside so not chilly at all compared to 6C. Mind you I went for a run today and it was only 5C and I would’ve comfortably taken a door panel in todays temps. Just have to be a little slower and gentler since the plastic is stiffer.

    See what I want to know is how to take off that piece you have near your door handle. The part with the red strip on it, I don’t even know what it’s called

    • @piercedasian
      @piercedasian  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The faux carbon fibre trim piece? I don't think those can come off and is part of the door panel (actually called a door card). If you buy the carbon fibre overlay kit that I believe it is an overlay piece. You'll have to contact the local honda dealer to confirm if that trim you want to pull off is a separate component or not.
