Great video, I'm always a bit scrared when handling gas and stuff. In the south of Europe many houses only have gas bottles as their main energy source and that still frightens me, anyway this video gave me confidence that it's a safe system in the Cal, thanks for sharing!
I know Im randomly asking but does someone know of a way to get back into an instagram account?? I was dumb forgot the password. I would love any tips you can give me!
@Harvey Armani I really appreciate your reply. I found the site thru google and Im in the hacking process now. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Gemma Day hi Gemma, there is no gauge anywhere. The only tips I can give you are these: when it is getting very close to being empty, the strength of the flame is weaker than normal and it takes ages to boil the kettle! You will get to know this through experience. Also, through experience is roughly how many months or years since last time you changed it; one bottle lasts ages and more than you probably think. One bottle will last us more than one season, although if we are frying food we tend to use our portable outdoort Bluey Gas Stove to save fat spitting inside the van. Because we have this back up, we are less worried about the thought of running out on the main bottle. If in doubt before a long trip, change it for peace of mind. In a Cali, there is no room to carry a spare easily (if you have a family on board). Good luck, hope this helps. Jordan.
@@CaliCamperFamilythanks so much for getting back to me (and so fast too!)..... that's good to know..... I'll definitely look out for that. I'm suprised VW haven't produced one for £££££££ 😅🤪
Gemma Day yes, a gauge for gas quantity remaining would be a nice optional extra...or a cost option! But, I havn’t seen any european manufacturer that does it, strangley. Enjoy the adventures with your camper, all the best, Jordan.
Lulu B its lasts for ages. We have only changed it once in the last 12 months. However, we also carry a camping gas stove that we use when cooking outside. This means we also have a back up if we run out of the on board gas. Thanks for watching!
This video was very informative and helpful
Many thanks for commenting!

Looks simple enough. They put it in a smart spot to save space.
They could have installed a refilable gas tank under the chassis...shame on them.
Great informative videos..thanks for sharing.
I'd love to know how you know when the bottle needs changing too... any tips?

Hi. Hope you have a merry Christmas 🎄 ATB Glen
GKUK Dash Cam VW Cali: Thanks Glen! Hope you had a good Christmas and have a happy New Year full of campervan adventures, of course!
How often do you have to change the gas cylinder?
