You know how old Whovians always described the show as a "behind the couch" type of show where you're so scared you can't bare to look yet it's so exciting you can't bare not to look? This is the story they must have in mind. One of the best and scariest stories of Doctor Who ever.
Doctor who has a series of stories of "Body Horror". The Mutants, Inferno, The Ark in Space, The Lazarus Experiment, this and many more that missed out
@@somerandomguy2073 I have the dvd ' brilliant story and plot ' unique from most of the Dr Who story plots ' more similar to something like day of the Triffads or something ' with plants taking over the world led by a meglomaniac.
One of Tom's best stories, it has everything that I think a great story should have: Pacing- 2 episodes on a place, 4 on another, it's so engaging and it's a story that builds up very well it's two halves. Characters- 4 and Sarah are great as always, but aside from them, the highlights are Harrison Chase and Scorby, Harrison Chase because he truly looks like a villain, he has a clear objective, and he goes along with it till the end, and Scorby because he is such an interesting character, not only Chase's henchmen, but also a person with his own thoughts, he even helped 4 and Sarah to take down the Krynoid. Plot- Who doesn't love a story about a plant from outer space that tries to take down Earth?
Scorby: Hands up Doctor Scorby: Turn Around Doctor Scorby: Facing This Way Doctor. Scorby: Now Start Speaking Doctor: Wolf Gam a Lama Had pefect Pitch. Scorby: What Happened to him Doctor: what Wolf Gam Al Lama. Doctor: Oh Him. He Died Scorby: How? Doctor He was killed by a alien life form Scorby: i said i wanted some straight answers
One of my favourite Old Who stories, first aired in six episodes early 1976 (I remember the snowbound first two episodes, before events shifted to crazy Mr Chase's mansion, coinciding with the Winter Olympics from Innsbruck,Franz Klammer,John Curry and all,so snowy scenes all round on the telly). Scorby played by John Challis, later Boycie from Only Fools and Horses.
What The Doctor should have done to defeat the Krynoid, was that he should have tried to appeal to the remaining human aspect of Keeler and tried to tell it to commit suicide.
@@fourthdimension7472 I think he means before he/it progressed to that stage ' like when he was lying in bed in that cottage/annexe strapped down and still conscious.

Doctor - "You haven't been listening to a word I said, have you? It's dangerous."
This is an absolutely brilliant story
Quite possibly one of the best Dr Who stories ever produced
It just missed the top ten, voted number 11 in the 2003 poll of 163 Doctor Who stories for the website Outpost Gallifrey, which isn't bad.
Found the transformation scene scary. Doctor Who at it's best. In the latest series, I felt the same about World Enough and Time
now 46 years old ' amazing to think I remember that far back.
This really freaked me out as a kid
What do you do for an encore, Doctor?
I win!
As ever.

What am I doing with my life???
EDIT: FINALLY watched it; cracking story
the thing :)
I'm going to watch this today with the daemons. So excited Tom Baker looks awesome in this
TheWackyWa: What did you think? One of the best stories, in my opinion.
Some Random Guy Same, it is defiantly in my top 10!

Wolfgang Amadeus (Mozart)*
The future Boycie.
I can't wait to watch this
Quite possibly my favourite Doctor Who story of all.
google maps has little info on the Antarctic bases. but it does have U.F.O.'s.
reminds me of the remake of the thing
This was produced before the thing in 1976
@@johneccar4926 But The Thing was a remake of the 1951 film The Thing from Another World, which was an influence on Seeds of Doom.

I actually agree. Though how would a giant ten foot monster commit suicide?
You mean like Quatermass did in The Quatermass Experiment, and sort of what the Doctor did in The Ark in Space.
That would have been such an easy cop out. Good thing the writers didn't do anything so simplistic.
If the bad guys killed the doctor immediately instead of all the James Bond crap it would've been 1 episode long.

Sorry always felt like a Sweeney or Minder villian
Scorby not sorry
Thumbs if whirlpool brought you here bahaha
Whirlpool?
Way before John Carpenter did the thing….Doctor who did it better 😁👍🏻
What an awful trailer.... this would put me off watching it if I didn't already love it.
