I know the video is a little dated, but I wanted to ask - can you polish out the white discoloration from acetone spilling on the plastic hood? I'm not sure if it removed the paint, or if the color is impregnated in the plastic, and it's just a haze from the chemical reaction on the surface.

This is very helpful! What do you use for the black plastic around the dash, cup holder on the side & the steering wheel?

One of the best options for this is a heat gun. Using it multiple times over the surface brings the moisture from within the plastic back to the surface. I hope this helps and thanks for watching!

I detail my own cars and my favorite is VRP from Chemical Guys. Good stuff. Also suggest using micro fiber towels. Works much better with micro fiber.

I use car cleaner with wax and it does a right nice job too and a good bit cheaper.

It won’t take out the scuffs on the front of the hood? Is there enough paint on the hood where you can use rubbing compound, with a buffer, and not burn through the paint?

You are very welcome! Don't be afraid to spray your engine down with some water. It will be ok and is designed to be in the elements.

In 1995 I bought a John Deere lawn tractor. John Deere really had pride in building their equipment. lasted for 12 years.
So I recently bought a new one around covid as like every other company during covid, John Deere's price for stockholders cast to go up and guess who gets screwed in the game.
It doesn't matter if it's food electric rent or even lawn tractors.
My 2021 S100 is a pile of shit.
    Thank God I had a a warranty,
Thats even a joke so I put less than 40 hours a year on it.
    It's been in the shop
    5 times.
2 times for spindle wearing out. Thanks to TH-cam we know the spindle issue problem they put grease inserts however when you leave them up it doesn't get to the bearing a simple fix and John Deere can't get it right.
    One time for belt issues.
One time for the seat switch malfunctioning
Like I said they're a pile of crap.
I will never buy a John Deere ever again.
    Totally ripped off.
$1799 lawn tractor at Lowe's prior to covid.
    Purchase mine in 2022
    $2599
It's all a sham they make cheaper parts the parts are made to wear out.
In the old days they make good lawn mowers that lasted.
But just as electronic items cell phones the batteries have been lasting too long manufacturers are saying how we sell more phones the quality is too good. So they started making the new phones with batteries that need to be replaced every 3 to 5 years sealed unit you're forced to buy a new phone

I'm experimenting with petroleum jelly as a solvent to see what it can do to plastics. I realize a heat gun is not the answer, and I don't want to spend money on a conditioner that I don't know what it is doing.
