    That engine bay is cleaner than when it rolled off the assembly line.

    This not first shear-drant video where the LAFD tries every valve but the one adjacent to the hydrant.

    Question. I saw a video of yours, Light Force 94 at a shear off, and they seemed to have the same issue of getting the cover off to get to the valve. Is the cover that hard to remove? Just asking.

      when the streets get repaved, the valve is often blindly covered, making it harder for firefighters to access. thanks for watching

    I was thinking how come the city don't paint a color so fire department can them and know which one to go too

    Is there 3 valves for the one hydrant? Or they are just not sure which one it is or?

      Typical fire guys come out start turning what ever valves they can find having no clue or care what it turns off.

      If its a ring network you would have to isolate the hydrant from both sides, that is possible

  • @Denver645

    Do they. It have a GIS that shows hydrants and shut off valves?

    Is there some reason as to why heavy duty bollards are not placed near the hydrants? This is obviously an issue, as it's been happening for decades now....?

    • @hyperfluff_folf
      @hyperfluff_folf 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      New ones usually get that in some areas but its cheaper to just send out a bunch of firefighters in the aftermath i believe, also its safer for the ones hitting the hydrants

    Makes me wonder why drivers don't steer away and go straight towards a hydrant. It's a lot worse than hitting a pole or a tree. 2000GPM 😵‍💫

    $3 million worth of vehicles to bring all that manpower to carry $500 worth of tools to do a job that the water dept should have done. But...the water dept would not have a video on TH-cam ;)

    Is it necessary to bring lot of firefighters and vehicles just to turn off water, only need just one vehicle. Such waste of money.

    • @chirpyr6219
      @chirpyr6219 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well they need the manpower and the equipment from the engine and the ladder. Half of em probably went home once they got on scene. Don’t be ignorant

    • @FB1ResponseVideos
      @FB1ResponseVideos  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Seven The cat, on a traffic collision involving a sheared hydrant where the driver/patient are still on scene, LAFD dispatched a task force (T66, E66, & E266) and a paramedic rescue (RA66). the engine and rescue are tasked with patient care, the light force (T66 & E266) is tasked with shutting off the hydrant, as light forces carry the equipment to do so. and like mentioned above, engine and rescue split pretty quick when there was no patient to asses. hope you can see that everyone has an important assigned job in this "waste of money"
