    So cute!
Maybe adding some FabriFix to the knots of thread would give some extra strength to the binding.

You can wax your embroidery thread with a piece of beeswax. That way you can still use the pretty colors of the embroidery floss! ❤️

That's what I was going to suggest! When I use embroidery thread, I wax it before sewing.

Pam, a helpful hint from a sewing person; if you flip your thread over twice on the first knot, it will force the thread to hold in place for the second knot. So right over left and through the circle, then wind the thread over an through the circle a second time. Tighten, and then left over right and through the circle. Now you will have a very tight double knot that one doesn't have perform contortions to hold, or need the use of other people.

Upside down signatures.. This is one of the reasons you're at the top of my top 3 creators on TH-cam. Why? Because for you, it is what it is; you don't sweat the small stuff. Something that has always held me back with art.
You're an inspiration; I'm trying to get over the toxic perfectionism that is a killer to my creativity.
Thank you, for, well, being you!

I know better than to try and craft while watching. You had me laughing so my what’s it got glued where the thingamabob was supposed to go and then I lost my glue cap under this mess errrr… mass of papers and doodads and the cat ran away with my bit of lace meant for the hole in the tag. 😂 I will fall back and regroup. Making fresh coffee, will start over and watch this video (with no glue or scissors anywhere near me) and try again shortly. 😆 Love watching you. Thank you for all you do. 💕

Hi Pam. I'm a fly fisher person. To keep the knots from coming undone we lick the knots before we tighten them. That's probably not a good option. lol Another trick I use in my journals is when I DoD the right over left, aka square knot, I do wrap left around the right before I tighten it. Hopes that helps.

Left over right, right over left is a reef knot! It is secure and won't slip undone. The other right over right repeated is a granny knot. This does unravel more often. This is a sweet little journal. I thought it would be good for little portraits or tea bag art.

Hello. I’m a little late to the party. But I have a tip. When you are binding or tying knots of any kind. When you are doing right over left go around again ( another loop) so it’s looped twice. Do the same when it’s left over right. It won’t slip at all. It will lock in place.

What a fun little journal! I make dream catchers and have a huge spool of waxed sinew that would work wonderfully for this stitch. Thanks for another cool idea!
