Usually you get a refrain or two from a musical guest appearance on tv, but credit to the show for letting the whole tune play out. Soap opera, so I guess they don't mind letting something fill in the time if it's entertaining but nice not to have it cut off.
Ricky thought of this appearance as a highlight in the B-52s career for him. I wasn't around then so I don't know what Guiding Light meant to a lot of people whenever it was on.
At the time this episode aired in April 1982, "Guiding Light" was already on TV for nearly 30-years (June 1952) and had been in broadcast (on radio for 47-years, January 1937 began on radio), so the show meant a lot to many people by this time.
Holy Shit... Extremely rare. Great to see Ricky again. I saw them in June of 1982 in Arizona then drove home to California. What a great band and a great concert. Thanks for posting this!!!
