The Presidents of the Untied States of America also are (just a bit) although their debut album sold pretty well. Their first 2 albums like this blend of silly kid friendly rock music and the end of popular 90s grunge songs in their heyday.
The lyrics of this song have become a family theme song. We often sing 'What's that on your head..' whenever we see a seriously awful toupee. I love the B-52s...
Wow this is rare! Never seen any footage of them promoting Bouncing off the Satelittes. It was just after Ricky died (noticeably absent here) and their heart wasn't in it for promoting the new album. This must have been late 86 or so.
I remember that show- it was a UK Saturday morning kids' show. Strange place to pick up a rare performance- although I think there was a good reason they didn't perform this one much in the US.
It looks like Keith was trying to look like Ricky here, I'm kinda glad he didn't continue doing that; It just reminds me of the fact that Ricky's gone. Even though I miss the original sound they had I'm glad they went to play in a different style.
