    About this van:
This week we bring you The Rolling Home - one of Instagram's original Vanlife Accounts. Calum and Lauren have been adventuring in their van for over 8 years now and I was lucky enough to meet Calum a little while ago and get a full tour of his van. As well as showing me around, he told me a bit about their journey, how they'd got to where the are now and how that has now evolved into a means of making a living for them.
They've written a variety of books on ways of alternative living and the stories of the many awesome people they've met over the years, which you can find here:
    www.stokedever...
You can also keep up with their adventures here:
    www.instagram....
I hope you enjoyed this tour, don't forget to help us out by liking and subscribing :)

Very well evolved van, nice ergonomics and galley, with a warm, welcoming and comfortable atmosphere.
To really benefit from your Gransfors Bruks you could fit the Fatsco Pet Stove, a 9.5 inch high, 6 inch diameter cast iron and marine grade stainless steel miniature marvel that's been made in the US for the last 100+ years!
The Fatsco Pet Stove and slightly taller Fatsco Tiny Tot stove are loved by liveaboard boaters in wooden boats for their small size, great output of dry heat and 8.5 inch diameter lantern base which makes fitting them anyplace, securely a breeze!
Seeing your GB on the wall made me feel that a beautiful, miniature stove would complement your van perfectly!

Does no one take a good poop in van living? I am not sure how people poop living like this...that’d be one of the things that stops me from living in a Van...that and that I’d be chicken as well

    • @scnomad3626

Stan Chang you poop the same way, drop your pants, squat and push. Public rest rooms are everywhere in the world. Have a small shovel or trowel handy and you dig a hole, poop in it and bury it. It’s not that hard. We have a “luggable loo” which is a 5-gallon bucket with a toilet seat top for emergencies only. It is used to carry trash bags and cleaning supplies. Poop in a double plastic bag and drop it in a dumpster. Not used often but it works when you do.
I don’t know why people are so hung up on where to poop.

A British guy speaking English and its incomprehensible. Slow down mister, and articulate your words. No train to catch. Why are you chopping off the ends of your words. Terrible diction!
What's with the ax on the wall? Latest manly fad?
6:04 - Pennant flags look like shark teeth inside a gaping shark mouth - nice touch!
Amazing how much you can fit into a small van, and how little you really need to live on.
Nicely built van, very cozy! I like the setup and layout. Huge bed!
Note to Nate: I still don't understand why you choose to stuff your videos with the hugely irritating drone of noise (what you refer to as music) in the background. It has the effect of creating immense irritability in viewers. If I feel it, so do numerous others who are too polite or lazy to comment on it. Only amateurs do this. Only amateurs need to fill the space of silence with noise. Maybe because the younger generation has become deaf through overuse of ear phones or use music to quell their angst. Au contraire, silence is negative space. Architects, landscape architects, composers, designers, house builders, even cooks... know the value of negative space. In the auditory arena, negative space is SILENCE. Silence is golden. Noise is not. Understand the zen of silence. In a video, we have multiple things going on that the viewer has to process... a person is speaking, the eyes are processing visual input, the brain is processing how it was built, we are seeing other vans around, other designs, we see the weather, location, vegetation, scenery, van build, details, and then... the sheer irritation of this drone in the background like a deep groan from the earth, interrupting our mental faculties. Its the new generation of millennials who must add yet another sensory input called 'music' into the visual tableau. Good grief! Happiness at watching a nice van build turns into murderous rage! Why??? Just why???!!!!! Must you spoil it? Horrible, just absolutely horrible to flood my sensitive ears with this third rate rubbish! If I want music, I will choose it myself. And it won't be this disgusting coca cola for the ears, it will be Beethoven's 5th, or Tomas Luis da Victoria's Ave Maria in 8 voices, or Palestrina, or Bach, or Prokofiev, etc. MY MUSIC, not yours. I came to see a van build, not hear your music collection. DO NOT PUT THIS PROFANITY IN MY EARS!!! NEVER, EVER SUBSCRIBING TILL IT STOPS.

@@micahnewitt5011 If the objective of a video on TH-cam is to generate money from appealing to the maximum number of people, you are failing this objective by adding music. No music will not impact viewing. Bad music will.

@@NateMurphy Music is very subjective. One could argue the drone of a plane's propellers is a music of sorts. So is the incessant beating of a child's tin drum, or the flapping buzz of a bee's wings. All sound is music. But some sounds are a raucous din as well. I am a purist. If I listen to music it is with all my senses, not halfway turned off. When I watch a video, it is with all my senses tuned in. I am absorbing the build through my eyes, ears, and pores. Noise interferes with this process. I was not the kind of kid who did homework with headphones on. There are others like me. When you add music, you alienate half of your audience. But if you drop the music, you will still have the entire audience, since they did not come here to hear music. See my point? Your choice. I've made mine. Not coming back, dear man. Keep the music and the millennial viewers who were born with headsets glued on and tone deaf.
