They can’t aggregate salaries in trades. They can’t give cash away in trades. They can’t sign and trade their own players for others. They can’t reach into the future to trade picks seven years away. And if they go over the second apron twice, their first-round pick automatically falls to the end of the draft.”

Brad should call James Wiseman, I know there’s some doubters but with the right staff behind him he will be a threat
I would take a league minimum deal on Wiseman. I think he was put in some circumstances where he did not get the proper coaching.

Wiseman is still one of the most athletic 7 footers in the NBA and his stats are always good when he plays. There's no reason he can't be a better version of Lively here (because he has a little jumper that lively doesn't). He's STILL only 23‼

Among the bigs, i'd pick theis. I'd pass on the wings and focus on developing baylor. There are some wings that can play big though. Among those i'd pick trendon watford.

With that said, its irrelevant as Woj just came out with a report that bol bol agreed on a 1Y deal to return to phoenix.
Daniel Theis and Mo Bamba simply aren't good enough players.Theis was benched for Mason Plumlee and didn't play in the postseason. Enough said there. Saric, Drummond and Wiseman are a million times better and are starting quality. Saric has all of Al's skills except rim protection, and Drummond is the best rebounder in the NBA and a beast. He had games of 24 points with 25 rebounds, and a game with 17 points and 26 rebounds with 3 blocks. And most importantly, he gives size to deal with Jokic and Embiid (who he's done very well against). HUGE for a repeat run
@@Daniel_Capital its not about good enough. Its about whats good among whats out there given the celtics system needs (shoot 3s or guard in space) And given the budget (vet min).
Those 2 are good enough. You may not just prefer them. Drummond and wiseman are bigs who cant shoot, cant make plays off the short roll ( a luke skill) or guard in space. In that regard, i'd rathrr just re-sign luke and tillman.
Rebounding is a need but not #1 on the celtics big skillset priority list. That would be like #4 or 5.
We dont need to deal with size down low as the celtics system knows how to destroy post up bigs like embiid when they dont have the passing skills of jokic. We have owned embiid forever and never had a big body center to handle him. Jokic, as seen in the minny series, is handled by length. Not by physical strength. So height, vertical and wingspan is good enough. Dont need a traditional, bulky big like drummond or wiseman who can get played off the floor on the other end. What minny had that the celtics didnt, was the double big setup where kat handled jokic and when jokic got past him there was most length near the rim (gobert) and in the gaps (mcdaniels, edwards). We have the length in the gaps. What we lack is someone to protect the rim once jokic gets past the 1st guy.

Stay away from Hayward. I would love to see Nicolas Batum in green in place of O'Shea or Svi. He offers veteran presence, good D and above average 3 point shooting.

Hayward makes sense on paper, but he complained about playing time with OKC. He'd probably want assurances, and with Hauser and Baylor in the fold, Hayward would have to be ok with Oshae type minutes potentially. He could get more if he plays well but it's far from guaranteed

Spencer Dinwiddie, who played for the minimum with the Lakers but was unhappy with his playing time (they played Gabe Vincent over him because they paid vincent so much money), would be such a huge upgrade over pritchard it would be unfair to the league. 6'6", one of the best passers, averages 14-15 off the bench, and is a DAWG competitor.

Drummond is a local boy who hails from Middletown, CT, 5 miles from when I live, and who played a year at UConn, where I taught for 42 years. It hurts me to say it, but he has never been a winner at any level. I think he’s too slow and too one-dimensional to help the C’s, even in a limited bench role. He does one thing exceptionally well: rebound. I’d rather sign a player like Theis, who does everything pretty well. Not to say that we can afford him.

Since they play switchable defense at best and occasionally drop...Drummond doesn't make sense. Lateral speed is suspect. No perimeter defense. Drop is ineffective. Screens are slow. All he has is rebounding now. Pass.
Kornet at least has lateral speed and if you look at the actual data he was a great screener. Actually had perimeter contests resulting in successfully contests. And works in drops. Kornet has been dependable as a 3rd string center.

Hayward is still emotionally dealing with that broken foot. I think he will always be doing that. Drummond is good but is a bricklayer at the free throw line. You have to take him out at crunch time because he will be hacked. This year's Celtics can pretty much do everything well. Drummond would not fit that mold. Plus, he's not been known as the most pleasant teammate. So, yeah. Pass.
