I love the Klay move, but people are sleeping on that Naji Marshall, and Quentin Grimes' move that was tremendous because those two guys play crazy defense, make shots, and they can play make here and there.
I like what I saw out of them. Shows like this won’t make any money talking about those additions though

Not me! I mentioned that we upgraded in those to areas! I’m cool with certain people hating though. Fine if he thinks the TWolves are better, it he seems to be a bit of a Mavs non believer. Ask him and he will say we will be a 5th seed again. I think we will definitely be a top 2 team!

I ain’t sleeping on them. I hate losing Green and Jones but I like Naji’s defense and his offense is better. Grimes is about the same player as Green. Maybe not as much of a motor but looks to be a way better shooter. At least no hesitation.

Playing in Boston wrecked Kyrie psychologically. The other guys saw that and the bricks became contagious.

Facts they need guys who can catch and make shots. Anyone who watched the series could see that much. Kyrie and Luka are great scorers but they really didn't highlight their playmaking ability in this clip.

The blueprint is let him score and stop the others. He too out of shape to outscore a team over 7 games that doesn’t have to double team. Other teams won’t be able to play Dallas the way Boston does cause only Boston has 7 guys that can play high end defense at any position so no double teams and switching rarely ever creates a mismatch. The blueprint is there for teams with a roster like Boston but I other team does. Maybe the Knicks are close.

I love the fact the National media calls 29,8,6 on 47% FG a “fall off” for Luka it proves to me these people will keep doubting him and his greatness and that they can’t admit they were completely wrong about him from before he got drafted all the way up to now. Also Luka played the entire playoffs at maybe 60-65% healthy.

That version of him would have just about been a max contract though. Mavs got him for 16.6 and still get a 40% deep shooter on 9 attempts per game. He's no longer a great defender, but he's still serviceable, especially if he has great rim protection behind him which the Mavs have.

It’s not Klay that makes them favorites is Nhaji who’s also shooting 38% from three on low volume who can guard Tatum and Shai shid anyone, with a wingspan of 7.1 who’s 6’7 with fast hands and busy hands.
Then it’s quiten grimes who’s also 6’7 who can guard and shoot 3’s point blank that’s what could make them a favorite their team is deep af.

My Mavs literally made the Finals without Klay, this only improved us. All Klay has to do is find an open spot off the screen. Easy money. Teams will be too focused on Kyrie and Doncic.
But other teams got better as well, the Nuggets won a championship last season surely they should have won this season. Thats not how things work.
Only off the screen? That alone would be amazing for the Mavs. However Klay could literally just stand in the corner, the spacing he would provide for Luka and Kyrie will be absolutely huge, and when he does get the ball he will prob be wide open cause Luka has manipulated the defense.

Here is one of the probems with Klay, in the play in game last season Klay shot 0%, 0 for 10 in 32 minutes. He has become a very inconsistent player.

Dallas overachieved, they're not going back to finals if Luka keeps being a ball hog. He plays too slow, but this style of play keeps his teammates out of rhythm. This was the easiest match-up for the Celtics. The Mavs didn't have an advantage on rebounding, which was a big plus for them. Plus, Luka sucks defensively.

@@anthonybassett4313 TWolves have done nothing to improve their offense though. It's a bad offense with terrible fits. If they stand pat, they are falling off IMO. Dallas I think is in a 3 way fight for number 1 between Dallas, Nuggs and OKC. And Nuggs really need to make moves to replace KCP or otherwise get more depth or it may be a two horse race instead. OKC prob slight favs to repeat for 1 seed as it stands with their roster moves.

The Mavs are keeping the same guys and adding shooting and more defense to the team. All they need is one more shooter for Luka and Kyrie do dish out to. They don’t need Klay to score 15 or 20. All they need is two or three guys dropping at least 3 three pointers in the playoffs and they will reach the finals again. They missed so many wide open 3s in the finals, it was beyond annoying. Wide open smh 🤦♂️, had nothing to do with the defense of the Celtics. It was the fact that the Mavs had no real three point shooters 😂

What do I think? Sorry guys. Guess I will have to plead the 5th and wait and see.🙂 Right off the bat, I think that Paul George would have been the best fit for Dallas. He has more size. He is a better rebounder. He plays stronger defense and can guard multiple positions. Plus he is a stronger "3rd scoring option" and he can create his own shot and throw lobs. #1 Klay is not going to get as many shot attempts as he did in GSW. There will be many nights that he wishes that he stayed. I am not a Draymond Green fan, but Draymond Green spoon fed Klay. In GSW there were nights when the Entire team would look for Klay 3 trips in a row. That is not going to happen in Dallas. There will be stretches when Klay will not even get a shot for long stretches and that is going to be tough (finding any kind of rhythm) for a 4 time champion that is trying to regain that swag. Anyway I hope it works out for him. Just an opinion.

Luka veraged 29 points in the finals. That's four points off his season average. The Celtics didn't have formula for stopping him. They didn't have a formula for stopping Kyrie who averaged 25. The Mavs got no help from the rest of the team. A healthy Thompson will hopefully help them.

Rick pulling up the percentages is a terrible point. Klays volume is much greater than those guys which generally relates to a lower percentage. Also he takes a lot more contested threes than them too.
