- One day I'll have to get rid of most of my fragrances collection. I don't want them to outlive me and become a burden for somebody else to deal with. This got me thinking, how many fragrances would I like to strip back my collection to and which will they be? I've chose what I think are the ten best fragrances in my collection.

I had the exact same reaction to Oud Wood you described...it was an eye-opening scent and it really ignited my passion for fragrances. I think it's one of those fragrances that has the power to get people into perfumery. An absolute masterpiece.

Addictions like fragrance hoarding can be very exciting until you realize you only have a limited amount of time in this life and you are better off thoroughly enjoying the ones that you love most instead of constantly finding the next better fragrance. On the other hand, it provides some sort of satisfaction knowing that you tried everything on the market and only kept the best ones. But then again, time is of the essence here so i will always side with the former. For this reason, I keep a small collection of 5-6 and purchase a new one only after finishing a bottle. In contrast, enthusiasts like yourself have also helped us discover hidden gems and for that I am grateful! 😀

Great picks! Pardon is technically what got me introduced to your channel when you first started out. I got my hands on a sample and at the time couldn’t afford it. You happened to have just done a video suggesting the Perfume Parlor version Pardoned and it was great… so great I burned through the bottle and eventually saved up for the real thing. To think that was 5 years ago! Thank you for still doing what you’re doing.

Having many makes choosing more difficult, however... I tried thinning out my collection to only 12 of my favorites and ended up having a hard time choosing then as well. There were always others that came to mind as being perfect for the day and i no longer had them.

I’m a basic guy. I only need 3 fragrances for life. Silver mountain water for my personal enjoyment , D&G the one for sentimental value (the fragrance I was wearing when I first met my sweet heart who is now my wife) and Armaf CDNI limited edition edp for compliments.

I'd noticed your choices and I've been an oud wood fan for years have several bottles including a very first formulation of it I'd had for a good few years and I'd gotten Thameen carved oud recently and man is that so friggin nice its literally next level oud wood and performs much better imo great choice 👍🏻
I've been surprised not to see any Fragrances from Aaron in your top 10 list. I would suggest to replace Aventus because of the constantly changing batches. I bought Aventus last year and it last only 3 hours - not worth the money.

Indeed there is something satisfying about minimalizing your collection... I only had a small collection of around 30 but still decided to get rid of the ones I didn't really wear (essentially don't need)... I'm left with 7 fragrances now and it feels good cause I know that the ones I have are actually going to be of value to me personally... from now on im only buying decants and maybe the number will grow back to around 10-12 but not much more
