I have 2 dogs that can't be separated. 100 lb staffy and a 10 lb chiwawa. He makes sure i fill her food bowl once i fill his, and he leaves his food to walk in the other room to check if she got fed. If she doesn't get fed (just tested him to see what he'd do), he lets her eat his food until she gets full, then he eats. He loses his crap when i bring her out by herself to potty. Every day, every time for his whole 5 years, he's done these things. If i get onto her for misbehaving, he puts himself between us and growls until i stop. Its awesome!
Seeing Pita knock on the front door, so she could come in and play with Fia, put a SMILE on my face! Remember when our human kids used to do that? Now, in most families, play dates are scheduled and supervised by the parents. It's sad that our dogs seem more independent and socially advanced than our own children.
