As someone who's learning to make games it kills me to see that island game. It's so clear to me where many of the problems are with it's development. First off the lighting hasn't been built which is why the shadows turn everything pitch black. Secondly the AI all is programmed to go to the same location without any other behaver which is why they just form into conga lines and run towards the player. Third the gun has no pushback making it look off.

i wonder how independent game development wil be affected with unreal engine 5 and perhaps other developments in the future, I think the big issue wil always be that even at the cheapest I could imagine it becoming, with super advanced ai doing 70% of the coding and the abbility to scan real life objects into games with ease and so on and so forth a good game would still cost a minimum of 5 000 000 and that is a small game with plenty of bugs in it a great game would cost at least 20 000 000, kingdom come deliverance costed about 36 000 000 I believe, might have been 46 idk but I do believe that software in general wil become easier and easier trough the introduction of more advanced artificial inteligence programs, so that developers could often just tick boxes for how an asset should behave and so on, idk
