- Dwayne Forge is a character in the Grand Theft Auto series who appears as a main character and an optional friend in Grand Theft Auto IV. Dwayne is a former drug kingpin who ruled over North Holland.
In 2008, Dwayne is released from prison and immediately goes to see Playboy at his penthouse. He talks to Playboy X and Niko Bellic in the mission Deconstruction for Beginners, where Playboy patronizes him. Playboy X eventually pays Niko to appease Dwayne by working for him, but Niko genuinely connects with Dwayne, as they both experienced hardship and have developed a cynical outlook on life and distaste for others.
With Niko's help, Dwayne gradually begins to rebuild his life. He asks Niko to kill Jayvon Simson, the man who stole Dwayne's money and his girlfriend. Niko finds him and Cherise, and chooses whether or not to kill Cherise before chasing and murdering Jayvon. Niko meets up with Dwayne at Cluckin' Bell, and gives him the money back.
Later, Dwayne tells Niko about his former gentleman's club, The Triangle Club, which was taken over by the Trunchez brothers. Niko goes to the club and kills the Trunchez brothers, allowing Dwayne to reclaim control of the club. This angers Playboy X due to the Trunchez brothers being business associates of his.
However, Dwayne also begins to talk trash about Playboy, and Dwayne's re-acquisition of the Triangle Club conflicts further with Playboy's business interests. Dwayne knew the effect that this would have on Playboy, doing it anyway out of passive-aggressive angst for turning his back on him. According to Playboy, he offered Dwayne half of his old gang back and he did not accept the offer, likely insulted as he founded the gang and taught Playboy the business when he was merely a child.
Niko is subsequently hired by both men to assassinate one another, in the mission The Holland Play. Niko must choose whether to kill Dwayne or Playboy X.
If Niko chooses to kill Dwayne, Niko will respectfully tell Dwayne that it's "nothing personal." Forge accepts his fate in sorrow, turning his back to Niko and calling him "fake, just like the rest of them!" Niko then shoots Dwayne in the back of the head while turned away, killing him with visible regret. Playboy pays Niko, but, in apparent denial, calls him "cold" for assassinating his old mentor, and the pair never speak again.

The older and older I get , the more I realize I Dwayne was a straight up real character. He knew shit beyond his time. True g in every sense.

Dwayne doesn't even put up a fight... from a strong gangster who'd kill anyone who messed with him or his friends... to a man who just walks towards a wall to accept his fate.
Defeated by the fact that everyone stoppped caring for him as soon as he lost his power, realising that he was never a friend of anyone, just a tool for others to get rich.

The shaking I believe is just the animation twitching, but his emotions and demeanor are intentional
As a kid, i didn't quite understand what was going on, but when i chose to kill Dwayne, everything was telling me this is wrong, i went back and didnt feel that with playboy, it was weird and surreal.

I never took the route of killing Dwayne. Dwayne was a pretty chill dude despite his mindset at times and you got some pretty cool stuff if you took out Playboy X instead.
bro playboy x was a frontin guy all the time. i got annoyed by him as soon as i saw him. like how niko was annoyed by manny as soon as he saw him.
With how playboy never returned Dwayne’s calls or was even surprised when he got out, I think playboy was responsible for Dwayne getting put inside. Because playboy never helps you out with the construction site he just sits on the roof and ‘directs’ you, he never handles anything himself he gets hired guns to do things and he never built the empire he controls, it was given to him when Dwayne went inside not to mention that he’s living in Dwayne’s old pad. I firmly believe playboy had wanted to get rid of Dwayne but couldn’t pull the trigger so he ratted.
He might have been partially responsible cuz the real rat was Javon, the guy you kill to get Dwayne's money back. Playboy still would have snitched if he was caught, though, cuz during his first mission where you take him to do a coke deal and you fail the mission, you call Elizabeta Torres and she mentions that he would squeal to get out of doing hard time, so you make a good point.

Man, i really felt Niko and Dwayne's friendship. I knew that Playboy X was just a silly punk, once i heard him say "Kill Dwayne", i knew that X was fucked up beyond all repair in his head; besides, his skittle hoodie didn't have enough of my favorite color on it, red. This friendship is something special that GTA V couldn't top.... not even the rocky dynamics of the friendship between Michael and Trevor

Gta 4 is definitely my favourite gta game in missions and storys.
I respect the opinion but it's definitely not one of my favorites. I wasn't a fan of the driving, the missions were fairly repetitive even for rockstar standards, and it had garbage optimization with terrible mouse control. good story and DLC though

And Dwayne felt so betrayed when Niko try to kill him (backstabbed 4 times if u choose to kill Dwayne)
I saw a post on Reddit or something talking about how Rockstar should make a GTA IV prequel with Dwayne as the protagonist and I honestly love that idea. One of the best characters in the game

Man, if I were Rockstar, I would make a prequel of this shit: An old school GTA like VC, SA, VCS and LCS, during the past. And guess what? Dwayne would be the protagonist man, this guy is so freaking cool, and had so much potential. A Liberty City in the years where he was king would've been the bomb, man... who's with me?

I love how Dwayne's experience is a child's play compared to Niko's experience yet he Choosed ( we choosed) to help him just because he reminded of him a lil bit and knew he could help.
Wish they did more with Dwayne in this game, where he could stick around with Niko or help him in the later stages of the game. Still glad that you’re able to hang out and connect with him after you kill Playboy and take his side. But I wish we could see more of him. One of the most underrated characters in the HD universe

I like how even Playboy X ends up calling you a cold and heartless person for killing Dwayne, like even he's cosmically aware that what Niko agreed to do was wrong despite being the one asking Niko to do it. The game very much tells you when you make the wrong decision. Greed gets you nowhere. Loyalty to your friends and family is everything.
I didn’t kill Dwayne I wanted the Claude outfit I didn’t care about money also I only got that far once cause the rest of the time I was little and got scared of the Faustian missions and kept restarting it

Playboy and Dwayne were really well written characters that drew the line between different aged group. When I was a kid, I was favoring towards Playboy more because of his wealth and lifestyle, but the older I get, I went towards Dwayne because I could finally understand his side, where loyalty and code of brotherhood is more important than the wealth and rich life.
I love Dwayne.

Dwayme is literally the Westernized version of Nico. I just didn't like the direction they had the voice actor take, sounded whiney but, I get it.
I wish they went further with him.
A very different man before he went inside, single handedly built an empire through selfishness, ego and greed he was now ashamed of what he built and all his missions with Niko involve tearing it down block by block.
