Watching countless hours of sports through out my life... I've always noticed that it seems like an unwritten rule among broadcasters to never correct each other's mistake live on tv. Some do, but it's so incredibly rare.
I noticed something when watching that call live when it happened (that I've noticed a lot of other times when announcers make a mistake)... there's silence right after the mistake. I always imagine this is because the announcer mutes their mics, then corrects their co-announcer, then they turn the mics back on. Re-watch the clip, and you'll notice the silence.
And you know it's not just the announcers allowing the fans at home to hear the roar of the crowd (because I know announcers do that too sometimes), because the silence is immediately after the mistake , and then they start talking again 9 seconds later.
Unpopular take but few things would be cooler than seeing the Mariners win the World Series. Would love to see the, pull that off.

Ironically I don't think this is a unpopular take. I think there's a big chunk of fans in baseball that really like the support the fanbase gives this team year after abysmal year. It's a respectable want! Lets get a bat and arm Ownership!

Knowing the Mariners, I was entirely ready for them to choke the bases-loaded-no-outs in the 8th. When we hit 2 outs, I just gave myself up to despair.
We may have left the bases loaded in the 8th BUT at least we scored 4 runs in that inning so it wasn't as bad (I say as I was literally tearing my hair out when they had two base runners in the 9th, begging Stanek to get the final out lol)
