Wow... no love for Shattered Dimensions? Really?
Not big on shattered dimensions myself, but I'd put it before ultimate for sure.
I thought it was a welcome change of pace, the linear gameplay put you on a path and didn’t have you worry about side quests just a straight forward story

Edge of time is sadly underrated and forgotten. It’s just a good a game as shatters dimensions
Personally, I enjoyed Shattered Dimensions a lot more than Edge of Time but they're both good games in my opinion.
Edge of time. Shattered dimensions had a tiny bit cooler story but edge of time wasn't a boss battle every level. Also boss battles were outstanding. My only problem is that they killed of anti venom and Doc Ock so quickly even though they are great villains. But still a great game.
Edge of Time had some of the best boss battles in the series, and the makers of it actually understood the character of Miguel O’Hara

The only reason I don't replay Spider-Man Edge Of Time as often is because of it's repetitive gameplay. If you ignore that, then it is a really good game.
I don't think the amazing spider man 2 is that bad. But I agree that Marvels spiderman is the best I got it and it is awesome

spider man 3 was a really bad game. It was so frustrating to play. The boss fights are rlly difficult. The combat was really sloppy. The web swinging was really good tho. You could get along the city pretty quickly and it was fun swinging around. Its just my opinion. Pls dont hate
Spider-man PS4 is the best spidey game- change my mind.
It's a collection of fetch quests, that repeat over and over again. Even the main missions are the same puzzles. The moves are limited. There are only like 5 finishers and 2 combos ( i know it's more). It's like they decided to make it easy for children to understand the gameplay and story. Very simple story, terrible dialogue and jokes, and some missions should've never have been in the game (the other people missions).

The amazing spiderman 1 should be in one of the best games. The story, gameplay, graphics, combat mechanics, music were all really great. Really fun game. The only minor flaw was the web swinging was not as great as some other games. Its a much easier and faster type but still decently good. Especially love the close up shorts etc., Not to forget the amazing web rush swinging which actually used buildings and surroundings.
P.S: I said "one of" OK! I know there are better like Marvel's spiderman PS4. Im just saying its underrated and deserves more.

None of them are underrated, (except for The Amazing Spider-Man vs Kingpin SEGA CD) I actually played Shattered Dimensions. It was actually fun! But when my dad deleted the game..

I grew up on that game
I consider Marvel's Spider-Man to be the best, even though the story isn't my favorite. In terms of graphics and mechanics, as well as the overall attention to detail, it's very close to what Beenox was promising in 2012 when they announced the Amazing Spider-Man tie-in game. Unlike all of the open world Spidey games that came before it, you can literally spend hours exploring the map, doing side activities, and finding collectables without it feeling boring and repetitive. I do kind of wish they'd included battle damage for some suits and the ability to find in-game comics, but maybe those features can be in the sequel.
There are better games like shatters dimensions its hands down better than Marvel's Spiderman.
Play Spider-Man 2 on ps2 and you’ll experience the real swinging mechanics. Don’t listen to this crap. Amazing Spider-Man PS4 is just fancy animation over and over. I’ve been playing it for 20+ hours. I got bored almost immediately of the swinging

Spider-Man 2 created the ultimate template for the web swinging mechanics that we are in Marvel's Spider-Man game.
So what does that mean it's just one out of the other things you can do in the game
it really comes down to who did it better in the end so yes it did set standards but if spiderman ps4 is better it's still better
Well, they spent years trying to replicate Spider-Man 2's mechanics because the guy who designed it copywrited it or something. They'd have had to pay tons of cash to use it again. Which is why the Spider-Man games made since then don't feel quite as good. So after all this time they FINALLY managed to equal or surpass what one programmer single handedly designed back on the PS2/GameCube over ten years ago? Wewlad.
You can ignore the facts but it doesn't change what is true. I watched a video of the game designers who worked on the PS4 Spider-Man game and they are the ones who spoke about the PS2 Spider-Man setting the standard on how they would incorporate Spidey's webswinging in the new game. In other words, it was their template, unless you're calling them liars.
I know. My comment was only highlighting the advancement of the 2018 Spider-Man game, from its 2004 predecessor, which at the time was considered the best Spider-Man game. Now the 2018 version has taken that crown.
The only reason I like the amazing spiderman 2 was because of how each suit could get torn up and how you could use the left trigger to web swing left handed and it felt a little like Arkham with y button (xbox) being counter and x button being the attack like in the Arkham series and you could web up the guns so enemies couldn't pick it back up
I actually liked the amazing spider-man 2 because those bugs and glitches never got to me and really enjoyed it

I just finished the Amazing Spiderman for PS3 and honestly it was a really good game. It had some annoying parts to it like when you temporarily lose your powers but even with that I loved the music that played and the level design as it made you realise how helpless Peter Parker is without his powers.
I have had the amazing spider man for a really long time, and I have got to say it is probably one of the best games I have played. Every single part makes sense and the mechanics of either doing everything stealthy, or fighting better but being caught is really balanced

When I saw S3 in the movie theaters as a kid, I knew it was horrible. I had to keep remembering the multiple villains (Venom, Sandman, Goblin), possible love interests (MJ and Gwen), backstories (venom - space alien, Brock - dick reporter, Sandman - etc), and the worst part-- the dance.
I liked the fight scenes though. Very smart way of defeating some of these guys and had a good ending, not great though.

Yeah, I had fun on this game as a kid as well. But lets face it. It WAS fun because I WAS a kid. You too. Everything is fun and satisfying when you're a kid. Every godamn game. And this one, honestly looking at it, is shit. Just try to compare it with Marvel's Spider-Man on PS4, you see a clear difference in the amount of effort that was put into them

I honestly loved tasm 2 video game. The web swinging was fantastic, the story had a lot of variety to it, the city was full of different side missions, the graphic may not have been the best but they were certainly playable. My only real issue was the smaller selection of suits, which is only really noticeable when compared to the 40-something suits in insomniac’s Spider-Man.

Excuse me, are you satan? I mean, I played it in my childhood and I enjoyed it too, but looking back at it now, it's such a chore to play. The combat feels really frustrating and unsatisfying, and that's bad for a game that's main gameplay literally consists 99,9% of combat.

Mega Man X Powered Up Pretty much
Mega Man X Powered Up Homecoming doesn't offer anything new, though, So Spiderman 2 is arguably still the best Spiderman movie. Spiderman PS4, on the other hand, truly set a new standard for open-world superhero games.
@@ryantheanimator1156 Homecoming felt like it was more focused on the "Friendly Neighborhood" aspect of Spider-Man. He still saved people and fought bad guys, but he also did more minor things like greeting citizens as he swings by, helping people with directions, and doing flips.
Plus, previous movies didn't really have Peter interacting much with his High School classmates and teachers. Just Flash, Harry, and MJ or Gwen. It never really felt like High School.
Ironically, Spider-Man and The Amazing Spider-Man had him get good at being a hero through montages that skipped his mistakes, despite being origin stories, whereas Homecoming Spider-Man was constantly messing-up and learning from his mistakes as the film progressed.
Kratos Spiderman 2 can keep it's place as best Spiderman film because that's a completely different Peter Parker. Spiderman is an adult in Sam Raimi's Spiderman 2 so he can handle villains and shit on his own and life getting him down where, Tom Holland's Peter Parker is accurate for it's MCU + Comic connections as he is younger and is still growing into being Spiderman!

The Amazing Spider man 1 is so good, but it lies under the shadow of what the second game was. I remember playing it for the first time and getting blown away by the graphics and the first boss fight was simply great
Also it serves as a prequel to the movie, so to get a full experience, you should play it before watching the movie

Spiderman (2000) is my absolute favorite apart from Spiderman PS4. Not only it represents my childhood, but it has plenty of stuff to do to keep you busy. Favorite part after completing the story were the challenges in that "digital world" or whatever it was.

Carson Seabolt it's not about who's gonna hate or not. I also love Spiderman PS4, but of course 2000's graphics suck compared to 2018's. And it's the wrong way to look at it because the graphics were phenomenal for that game at the time it came out, and then with the games evolving of course you get open world and suits and everything... But your opinion shouldn't count based on how you reason so maybe stay off criticizing for at least 5 years or so.

- This one isnt as good as the first game but it benefit from the same engine, the same gameplay (slightly improved in some way) and it has a lot of extras which is nice.
2. Spider-Man 3 The Movie (Ps3/Xbox360)
- Game looks and feels rushed beyond expectations, but web swinging is almost! the same as the Spider-Man 2 and i feel that in 3rd is even more realistic (but tedious), also combat is surprisingly rich in combos. Crimes around the city also feels more creative and maybe it just me but sometimes when i swing high around the buildings then the game give me that fake impression of "photorealism", the same feeling gives me GTA 4, for example its something that GTA 5 lacks.
3. Spider-Man "1" The Movie (Ps2/Xbox)
- This is ALMOST like an upgrade to Spider-Man 2000 which i think has the best combat because its feels arguably realistic, i like simple punches and kicks with some web actions (i know, web action isnt really realistic), so "The Movie" version has the same combat system but with a lot of new combos to preform but they screwed it up because its feels stiff when you do them, animations locks you when you fight but cut to the point. Combat, Graphics and that feel of mature Spider-Man game or somethin ... just feels unique and different, apart from fact that game didnt offer too much.

1. Spider-Man Web of Shadows (Ps3/Xbox360/Wii)
I think this game is highly overrated. Well its just boring, apart from repetetive mission design there is nothing special about this game but i love some aspects, for example switching from "Red" to Symbiote suit is so smooth and the fact that each suit has it own set of attacks is just perfect. I absolutely love the concept of the story, im not a comic book geek, so i dont know if its something new about the symbiote invasion, but i just love the idea and some designs for symbiotes and for heroes/villains symbiotes versions.

The new Spider-man game is awesome, not because of the combat or the web-swinging, but because the way you can interact with the people of Manhattan. Spider-Man has always been 'the people's superhero'. Yeah, he's a mutant, fighting crime and saving the day, but more importantly, he's a New Yorker, and this game captures that like no other ever has.

Spider-Man 3 looked way different on PS2, if I remember correctly. I remember thoroughly enjoying it, but I was also a kid that loved everything that had to do with Spider-Man lol. I do remember the world being a lot more vibrant (for the time) than what was shown here.

I watched this video after completing the 2018 game, and i did not expect to see the first ever spiderman game i ever played (Return of the Sinister SIx) on this video. Return of the Sinister Six and 2000 spiderman were my favorite games to play as a 5-6 year old and i had forgotten the name of the former. Ooh this brought back some good good memories!

I really liked Friend or Foe; sure it was redundant and all that, but it was still fun. And at least the game was playable, Atari 2600 Spider Man and Spiderman 3 were not playable. And actually, the worst Spider Man game was the LJN Gameboy one. The controls were even more buggy than sinister 6. I agree with Spiderman 2 being 2nd place now, with the new one taking the crown. But Maximum Carnage was also really fun.

Most people forget about edge of time. It was my favourite and in my opinion it had the best story with pretty good graphics and villains that scared the crap out of you if you played it as a kid

Grew up on spider-man (2000) on N64 that game was amazing but gave me anxiety especially the end of the game running away from carnage or venom forgot but great game
Web of Shadows did not have a weak story at all! Personally, it's my fav Spiderman game. The idea of Venom using symbiotes to overrun New York and requiring you to team up with other superheroes to defeat them was really cool and the chemistry between Spidey and these heroes was fantastic! Also, the plot moved along a more brisk pace than Marvel's Spiderman.

An update is in order. Shattered Dimensions, Edge of Time, The Amazing Spider-Man, Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Spider-Man: The Movie should be in the list with Next year's incoming Marvel's Spider-Man 2.
Good reviews. I would have included Shattered Dimensions and Maximum Carnage in my top 5.
