Am I the only one that remembers a spiderman game controlled by spiderman gloves and footwear rather than a controller? It was physically controlled game that ended with taking down doc ock. Ive been looking for the name for years and I can't find any evidence it even existed

Spider-man for PS1 is legit still my favorite video game of all time, I literally play that game to completion once every 3 months xD I love it so much. Part of me is kinda salty the 2018 Spiderman's game story wasnt just that but in this updated quality xD

Check out the Dreamcast or the PC version if you can. They've got better assets. Unfortunately the PC version is really buggy for me on modern OS (back on windows xp it wasn't as bad).

The best spider man games I've ever played were: "Spider-Man 2" (the movie licensed game), "Ultimate Spider-Man", and "Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions". I am super excited to see what Insomniac has for us!

Spider-Man WOS was by far my favorite game because I absolutely love the symbiote story concept and the good/ bad choices you have. If there was a sequel to WOS I could see myself dumping a TON of time into it.

Agreed. But the combat was fairly basic, the dodging by jumping was a step back and the mandatory races and combat tours were irritating, which is why it baffles me that they brought them back to pad out Web of Shadows.
Oh yeah, because they had next to no time to develop it and still did some things amazingly well. Seriously, I can't think of a single Venom moment that sums up the character of Eddie Brock as well as his sacrifice with the red (and honestly the only) choice at the end of the game.

I watched the whole thing. I find it amazing how much the Spider-Man games have advanced throughout the years. Hopefully this game knocks it out of the park.
Spider-Man 2002 for PC was my favorite Spider-Man game! Having Tobey Mcquire voice act for the game made for some great commentary and the vast set of attacks made for such an enjoyable game!

People always forget about friend or foe and that game, despite it being a repetitive beat em up, was actually pretty fun and had a cool roster of characters. I love that game, but yet everyone else seems to forget it exists.

Spiderman & Venom Maximum Carnage was so badass back in the day. A game where you can play as Venom? Sign me up. Probably the coolest comic book character ever made.

I remember i got a ps2 in like 2010( my family was kinda poor) at a game stop for very cheap and getting spiderman 2 and just playing it so much (i was like 6) i dont remember doing any missions i would just go around fighting bad guys till i had to go do chores

Spider-Man 2000 for ps1 is my absolute favorite. So much nostalgia man. It was the first game I ever fully played through as a kid. I wish I still had it.

+Onat Ultimate Alliance 1 and 2 are great. So glad I picked them up on Steam before they were pulled. Also Marvel heroes was great fun to play as Spidey. They had a ton of skins. You could play as Spider Gwen, MayDay Parker, 2099, Future Foundation Spider-Man, Black Suit Spider-Man, etc.
Shame that Marvel heroes was shut down. I loved that arpg.
I didn't get the chance to play a lot of these games. I hate that they were all pretty much taken off the market. I would love to play a few of these on steam but you cant buy them there and the secondary markets overcharge the shit out of you.

Shattered Dimensions was awesome! After Spider-Man 2 was the only SM game I really liked. More linear approach but the gameplay was so much fun with all the various mechanics between the 4 characters.

This is due to the more complex technology and mechanics of a game. In the 80s and 90s, it was mainly sidescrollers. It takes more time to make a high-graphical 3D world rendition of a county in Montana than a pixel backdrop for a level.

The Spider-Man Plug-and-Play from 2004, made by Jakks Pacific. 5 whole games in one, no console needed. 6 year old me was psyched.
There was also a mobile game for my old flip phone, but I can't seem to find the name of it anywhere. It was a side scrolling beat-em-up and it was terrible and impossible to control on my terrible phone keypad but I played it anyway.

Playing as the Green Goblin in Spider-Man PS2 was so much fun, also using the old costume was cool because then Green Goblin would be the Hob Goblin. That was a great game
Shattered Dimensions is my favorite, not just because it was my first Spider-Man game, but also because of the cool stuff: the Noir missions, the boss fights, most of the alternate suits, the fact that Deadpool is a boss, and the final boss' music.

Haven’t played a lot of Spider-Man titles but Ultimate Spider-Man for the PS2 and Spider-Man: Web of Shadows were my childhood. I never realized how INSANELY short Ultimate Spider-Man is but it still wins me over because of its comic book art style. Web of Shadows has its problems but the amount of combos you are able to unlock is really refreshing. You can fight a good amount of villains (both in their normal and symbiote versions) and getting the see NY city slowly become more chaotic overtime is awesome. Both these titles will always have a place in my childhood
I really loved Shattered Dimensions, as I was younger at the time, I enjoyed getting introduced to the more unique Spidermen, especially 2099 which I loved, I just thought even tho it was linear, the environments were really interesting and the story was pretty good too

Neversoft's Spider-Man was the second I played, after the one where you can play as Black Cat, Namor, and Hawkeye as well as the title character [but never beat it].
Spider-Man 2's swinging WAS amazing! I really enjoyed 1-3 of that movies game series.
