nice play on the sheep for non block to 4 for 1. super strong play. Sometimes i think im good at catan, but then i realize i would never see that play in the moment.
Hey Dandy at 14:51 you start going into a spiel about how blue made a mistake blocking the 8 Brick tile cause it limits their trades but if you look back you were the one that blocked that tile. They had blocked the 9 Wheat then you rolled a 7 and blocked that 8 Brick tile. They did block it earlier on in the game for a spell but that was a very short lived portion of the game as it was unblocked the very next turn. Just wanted to clarify as I was confused during that portion of the video what you were saying.
Nice catch - I definitely misspoke. I genuinely thought blue blocked it or else I wouldn’t say it. Thanks for the clarification and know I make mistakes too 😊
@@kamryncannon5988 meta is not exclusive to catan, you can google, but it basicallly means the current popular most effective way to play the game, that is the 'meta', I'm not sure if the OP knows what it actually means
ב"ה When I paused the video for the second pick, my choice was actually 5-9-12 left. With blue needing brick and black needing wheat it is possible to get so wood trades for the first 2:1 port, and afterward it is pretty easy to get to the other 2:1 ports. Three resources with all 2:1 ports for the is very flexible.
Black wouldn't trade with you and they have good wood and brick. You're going to lose that race more often than not. One road cuts you off and effectively ends your game with you only producing wheat, brick, and sheep
@@schroederluck7984 sorry, I meant 5-9-12 right. No one cut you of to sheep port or wheat port, and you are likely to get the brick port as well, so only 3 resources but with all 2:1 ports for them.
Starting idea was genius. Plough was real bad idea though. What does black get? More brick to his 8 brick. You could have gone all the way to the woodport and 4 ore which makes you pump out cities that you need. Now you are stuck with no ore and no ports. Also jeopardised road longterm against a strong road player in OJ. 100% a misplay in my book.
I actually would have taken the 8 10 for my second settle. The idea being I road settle the 9 10 and then go to the wheat port and then brick port next if blue doesn’t take it first. All my favorite games involve both luck and skill. The skill gives you the ability to prove your ability and overcome a challenge, the luck brings variation in the game as well as the excitement of gambling without spending money. Chess is great and all but after the opening there is always a best move and if both players always make the best moves the game is very predictable.
Hey dandy, trying to get into the game recently as you’ve inspired me, and I end up getting blocked the entire game even if I offer trades or no blocks or anything. Any suggestions? In a game I played recently I got robbed 14 times over the winner who got robbed 3 times
Maybe you were building too quickly and didn't secure some knights to protect yourself. I would consider after your first city, look to get a few development cards so you can project your position!
It’s not that I get “streamrolled” but the reputation definitely changes the way people interact and play. For the sake of delivering content, playing on alts is smoother and consistent. To be fair, it’s all the same account but the name changes periodically.
I can't fathom how they didn't work together to take road away. Whenever I'm in the lead the board starts working together like they are best friends

Never? It’s really not that complicated
@@itskelvinnfor real lol, its like catan basica
I think i'm learning more from this format than the comments you make during a live game. There is a lot more analysis in this format.

Yep, I was face palming when he said that.
Advice is still valid though

Double play meta. Great game by chef Dandy 👨🏻🍳👨🏻🍳
Ngl I’ve watched catan videos for a year straight and still don’t know what Meta means

very well played there! The way you got army and road is insane here!
should use your inside connections to talk the devs into a "lock board placement" option
Chat was really blurry this video
Chat is impossible on the iPad. Sorry :(

I think if blue wasn't in this game you'd probably not win this easy. I think he held 7+ cards almost every orbit 😂

Love a good late night upload.
What do you think about 6/3/11 as second pick and getting the 4 ore, why isn't that as strong?
I think that’s a great pick too. I didn’t like black getting 5912 and 9102 with 3:1. Felt a bit too strong.
btw you can bluffy ask a blue to trade you 2 sheeps(or sheep + somethin) for not settling on 8-10 port or am i wrong?
Nice to see you playing on the phone app
cool as a (pickled) cucumber
I felt bad for black. They got hosed so hard.
Does dandy always change his username cant find him in leaderbords
OWS ;)
I think I would have plowed blue as well. You would have locked down the 9 10 too
Is this mobile app available on Android? If so what is it called?

Thank you, I’ll try that next time
blue was definitely high
Nice game, just the chat section is too small I cant read it
What is the reason you play with so many different accounts? Is it just for smurfing or something else?
when playing competitively as 'DandyDrew' or a known Dandy account he gets steamrolled as a former #1

anyone else would have picked 3-6 -11 instead as well?
LuckyDucky69 wins with 6-9-3 in exactly 69 turns meta..
