This was Finland's 100th birthday and the event was a cultural gala which was shown on television. The medley featured important Finnish heavy metal bands and their songs: Sonata Arctica, Charon, Tarot, Children of Bodom, Stratovarius, Nightwish.
Tallulah by Sonata Arctica (Tony Kakko's band), Colder by Charon (JP Leppaluoto's former band), Wings of Darkness by Tarot (Marko's band before Nightwish), Towards Dead End by Children of Bodom, Hunting High and Low by Stratovarius, and Wish I Had An Angel by Nightwish.

This is basically a heavy metal award type of show. Here we have the same old Grammy awards, with the same old pop/rap music. There they have metal/rock music awards. So lucky for them.
That is very good. I also like Mika Jaakkola - "Soita" ft. Marko Hietala. It was recorded during Covid restrictions. Mika had to change his guitar playing because of spasms in his hand caused by playing a lot for years propably with wrong technique, to much tension I guess - focal dystonia I think the medical term for it is. Now he plays lap steel.
You should check out "Tuska 20th anniversary song". TUSKA is a heavy metal festival in Helsinki Finland. There are propably a couple of dozen musicians, mostly Finns, appearing in that song. I think it's very good considering the mosaic it is, put together from bits and pieces.
It is remarkable that metal music got a prominent place in celebrating the 100th anniversary of independance. This small nation of 5,6 million inhabitants has produced prominent international dirigents in classic music, here Leif Segerstam, but many more - Esa-Pekka Salonen was dirigent of LA Symphony orchestra for many years as an example. If you want to know one thing of Finnish classic music it is composer Jean Sibelius. Everyone recognizes his Finlandia hymn, used in many films, for example at the end of Die Hard2. Joan Baez used the melody in a pacifist song
I love Tony, and Marko is great too, but JP Leppäluoto is Finland's best voice, and I will not be convinced otherwise. 🖤 I'd love to see you react to his stuff. He's so underrated.
Marko killed it. The others were good, he was great. Check out the 2020 Finnish edition of Masked Singer where he won as Tohtori (The Doctor). Stay safe, God bless, keep rocking.
Now when your comment that in South Alabama you call this etc.....Came to my mind that most popular rock song from Finland ever (from year 1974,Hurriganes) goes "Just leave my baby in old Alabama". Live from "Imatran ajot" (Nostalgic summer happening with old motorbikes race, music, cars etc) and "Get on" (with two members from Hurriganes). Good quality pro video and worth to check if straight rock with great guitar solos are wanted.... th-cam.com/video/pcHU3VoXU4M/w-d-xo.html
The second guy (JP Leppäluoto) looks a bit similar to the guy that you're thinking about in the other song (John Two-Hawks), but they are not the same guy.
Would you please play Sonata Arcticas song Full moon. The band is touring in march in Bratziel and Argentina. The band has been playing since year 96 together and they are touring round the world. 😀👍
Hey, you should definitely check out Jarkko Ahola another awesome Dutch singer also a former singer of Northern Kings, try his Walking In The Air live show cover and his John Lennon Imagine cover official video, awesome thanks request 😀
Yes. Jarkko Ahola version of "Walking In The Air" is truly magnificent. Especially the live version performed in a church. I love the song and his voice was is perfectly suited to sing it. Best version out there hands down.
No negative comments, thanks. If you have nothing nice to say about people's comments on TH-cam, then you need to get off TH-cam yourself and get a real job.

And Finnish has such a beautiful articulation💪
