Was United and England's top goalscorer and captained both. Won every trophy you can win in the top flight. If Rooney didn't reach his potential, then your man Gerrard definitely didn't. 😆 Also if he didn't, no other English player in the last 50 years has, either.
Wow what is this conversation he could of lasted a bit longer but thats it other than that he was one if the best strikers if not THEE best England have ever produced
I heard someone saying, rooney was juiced up when he was young, and its the only reason he made it, he smoked, drank, didnnt look after himself...and why is is physically knackered now and aged so badly...
Did Rooney fulfil his potential? Obviously he did but what is lost is the fact that the standard of players playing for man utd declined even though he continued to score and make assists finally breaking Bobby Charlton record and also becoming the leading England goal scorer of all time. For myself I would definitely say he was close to if not the best English player we have produced.
He used to smoke & drink during his playing years! He really didnt reach his potential, esp when you consider how good he was when he burst onto the scene (see 18 yr old rooney for england v france Euro 2004). His ex-team mate Ronaldo is older than him & still playing!
Of course he did. Man U's top scorer....Engalnd's Top scorer......won everything in the game. How can his career be described as anything other than a huge success !?
I watched him as a 16 year old at Everton. He was unbelievable. Completely dominating games at that age and making experienced top level player panicky whenever he came on the pitch. If both joined at the same time, can anyone see EFL teams saying no to 600m (300mx2)
Celtic/Rangers would make 350m within 5 years outside of normal PL/EFL earning from bigger shirt/stadium/other sponserships and extra commercial activities!
Rooney’s goal scoring record would have been even better but for sacrificing for Ronaldo. The same goes for benzema. That’s why they were both seen as better after Ronaldo left .
he went to everton before america
Straight swap, get rid of Cardiff and Swansea for Celtic and Rangers 😃
Simon…. Love the show. However, your views on Celtic football club are ludicrous. Celtic pay £50 million to join the championship??? You got it wrong. The English championship should pay Celtic treble that to play in that league. ☘️
If only the lad got scouted for Liverpool not Everton, Rooney and Gerrard would have been nuts
I know it’s happened before, but considering Rooney is a massive Everton fan I’d have been shocked if he played for them
@@ancelottiseyebrow5206 Yeah it's like Carra though! Everton fan but became a red!
My fave comedy team hehe
Simon & Souness is better!
The answer is yes he did.
If you had to choose 11x of the same player to make a team Rooney would be my player, he had everything and apparently was a decent keeper too
Rooney should have had a better career. He was naturally better than Cristiano Ronaldo.
Celtic and rangers should have came to the prem in 92/93. When both was on even playing field with the then prem teams. It would be too hard to integrate them now. Agree how can Bournemouth be worth more than both rangers and celtic it's a sad state of affairs
With the finances now and travel options it should be all British teams in leagues combined. Fairest way
nonsense
Was United and England's top goalscorer and captained both. Won every trophy you can win in the top flight.
If Rooney didn't reach his potential, then your man Gerrard definitely didn't. 😆 Also if he didn't, no other English player in the last 50 years has, either.
Simon and souness should buy a football club and get stuck in👌😂 would be a great !
Wow what is this conversation he could of lasted a bit longer but thats it other than that he was one if the best strikers if not THEE best England have ever produced
I’d prefer if we could kick the welsh teams into the SPL. Would make that league stronger and not interfere with ours.
A has been and a never was - watching for the humour
I heard someone saying, rooney was juiced up when he was young, and its the only reason he made it, he smoked, drank, didnnt look after himself...and why is is physically knackered now and aged so badly...
Wayne rooney. The greatest plyer ever
He was born in 1985, maybe for podcast would be good to research
He had a great career but he had the talent and attributes to be alongside Ronaldo in the global pecking order but didn't have the dedication/physical longevity.
What i would do to have a player like wayne at united again these current player's couldn't lace his boots
