- Everyone welcome Olly to the channel! His seriously well spec'd high comp B18 DC2 come up to Oulton Park at the weekend to have a play. It was only right that we stuck a couple of GoPros in the cars and went for a play, right?
Full engine spec of the B18 can't really be disclosed. Built by a company called RaceDNA in the UK, they like to keep their cards close to their chest. All I can say is, it's bloody fast for a B18 on pretty much stock gearing! - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ

The B18's cornering in looks really sharp, the steering is pretty direct. Going out of the corner the gearing slows it down I guess As usual your runs are great to watch. Was a fun battle!

I've driven both and own a fa5 k series engines just seem to feel like they don't have to try as hard. It shows in the video. K all day great video man.
If they were weighted the same and the bseries had a 2.0 stroker kit with a 5.0 fd and a long 3rd that race would have had a better play but it was awwesome to see awaesome as always DannyDc2!!!
Olly's Integra's turn-in is insane! What is this attributed to? Spring rates? Alignment? Steering ratio?
It's mainly down to alignment, spring rates are pretty similar. I'm running a fair bit negative camber up front with toe out at both end.

Very good video. There's b-Series engines that can embarrass the K series, but at the end of the day the K is the better engine. Has all the improvements the b series lacks. But.. I personally like to own the b18c better though.

going from a mk4 1.8 astra SRi to a dc2 is a big jump tho lol was thinking of an ep3 as a stop gap. What's your actual thoughts on an ep3?
I had a Astra G 1.8 16v!!! Up the Z18XE... Loved that car. Was my first 'proper' car. EP3s are awesome man. Good fun cars.
Haha ace!! it's a "good" car much like your audi just slow and getting old. you and your videos have inspired me to get some form of vtec in my life! I think an ep3 would be a good stepping stone to a dc2, however a friend of mine has a dc1 and that's a sick car aswell!!

I've been down to Combe before. It's a good track but it's pretty far for me to go, considering we have these tracks up 'north!

The B sounds like it has more grunt for sure but the K sounds so smooth

I like the shift linkage in the b series and the trans.. k series not a fan of the shift box or trans although I do like that it's a 6spd and the k series is updated
is there a weight Advantage with the 1.8 liter?
the 2.0 kseries is actually a little bit lighter than the 1.8 bseries, it even slants backwards imrpoving weight distribution (i think) kseries is definitely a little lighter though

DannyDC2 no he wasn't in his car. he just had a chat with you. his is black. does 2.06 round oulton although that's passenger and just the rear stripped. was gutted I couldn't get up but got roped into work. maybe next time.

really need 2 sort my b18, was that a re cam/re map? stripping my b18 and exedy clutch n flywheel made noticeable difference helping the lil 1.8.
This is such an unfair battle lol 😂 you have a bigger engine and more torque and a lighter car.
Power and torque are about the same mate... I am lighter though! (about 50kg)

I recently owned a JDM DC2 type R integra and now have a JDM DC5 type R and i can honestly tell you the K20A is far better than the B18 in every single way. A far superior engine
wrong. the b18c type r engine makes 200 hp stock, same as a k20 stock. the b18 also revs higher 8500-9000p rpm stock where as the k20 only revs to 8000 stock. b18c is a superior motor but is hels back by the 5 speed
@@brucelee7283 wrong the K20 you speak of is K20a2 with 200hp it has lower compression, less aggressive cams, longer gear ratios, heavier flywheel and no lsd and normally found in type R that were sold in other countries other than Japan, such as England and Australia. They are far from the performance of a JDM K20a which has 217hp and a factory 8500rpm limiter which is easily raised to 9000rpm with a tuned ecu. There have been multiple comparison videos done by none other than Keiichi Tsuchiya himself pitting the DC2R against the DC5R and the DC5R is faster in every way. And in terms of modifications the K series makes far more power per mod over a B series. Have owned both a DC2R and a JDM import EP3R, once you go K youll never go back to a B series.
@@SR22VET-S15 oh yeah you right i was thinking of the acura integra type s that we have in USA. we never got the type r here. true jdm k20A does make more power, but they are kind of hard to import and buy for me so i can never get one
@@brucelee7283 doesnt really matter if its a k20a2 either, even though stock the k20a2 is 200hp it still makes alot more torque than a b18c7, once modded the k20a2 will make more power mod for mod over a b18c7 and once tuned the rev limiter is easily raised to 9000rpm on a k20a2. Ive seen k20a pull 30whp more than the b18c7 mod for mod (intake, header, exhaust, tune) not knocking on the b series, its a legendary engine and can still hold its own very well, just out dated by today's standards compared to a K series.
@@SR22VET-S15 na the b18c is better than the k20a2 for sure. of course the k20 makes a little more torque because its a 2.0 liter vs the b18c 1.8 liter. but horsepower/rpm is more important in races, not daily driving. and the k20a does not make more power mod for mod. many tuned NA b18c motors make between 200-230 whp with basic mods on pump gas. many tuned NA k20's make around the same hp as well with basic mods. but of course with serious mods (14:1 compression, dual itb's, etc) both motors can reach 300 whp. and tuned b18c motors rev to 10k giving it superiority over the k20a2

I want to ask something here. Anybody can explain why the front tire is more width than the rear ? I know these car are fwd. But, is this won't make the car will be unbalance at the corner? Are this setup will not make the rear tire won't have lose grip earlier than the front ? Sorry , i doesn't have any experience on track and my car is only perodua kancil with a fucking 39hp. But , my car is also fwd tho, I just want to know why danny chose these setup

Gawddamn...the b-series is just so damn gutless. Its especially noticeable on the uphill section, and for the gap to increase by that much over 1 lap is kinda embarrassing!
C Swiss with all do respect they are both great. Mate the b18 to the same 5.1 final 6 speed tranny and it would be very close.
K car is a good bit lighter with gearing advantage. Obviously it's going to accelerate quicker.
what does the k20 vs b18 do on weight? and does that change the balance?
Cedric Vreekamp K20 weighs more and it doesn't really change much in balance, just have a good tune
Jorge Arias from what I've heard, K20 is actually lighter (lighter flywheel, block etc), than the more old school B18

K20 is lighter... the gearbox is slightly heavier than a B series box though (it is bigger, 6 speed), so the weight ends up being about the same.
did you use Dixcel RA pads on front and rear? and how are they compared other pads youve used?

K20 seems faster in straight line 🤣 witch means has no point to have a k series and upgrade better to a B20Vtec that for sure smokes to that K20

Speedo goes to 180kmh on JDM DC2, as it's the speed limit in Japan! (or was at the time)
It has japanese cluster so it's only 180km/h on the clock.
