@@drivebigmuscle8080 that's great news, please film a few scenes at night. I know it's a bit of an odd request...I just find it very relaxing to drive an old car at night with the empty streets and watching them on the road glistening under the old orange street lights is something you just don't see anymore at least not in my country.
Fell in love with the 2nd generation from Watching Hazzard County. When I turned 23 on my birthday I bought one. This was in the early 90s. I paid 2k for it. 383 4bbl AT. I took it to a resto shop that specialized in older mustangs. The owner told me more people stopped to inquire about the Charger than the Mustangs he had on his lot. He had to put a not for sale sign on it. I'm pushing 60 now and she's in my garage. It was/is my dream car. I picked up a 69 Mach 1 for almost nothing and that will be a father/son project when he gets ready. My son will get both cars. Pass it on.
My dream car - I can just sit and look at it and it puts a smile on my face too. I’ve always wanted a 69 but the prices are just too high. So I’ll look at other peoples chargers and smile at their beauty. Now THATS a car
Mr Musto - great to have you back! Thank you for the lessons. Hemmings has an all star lineup of shows and people, please keep it up. What a great car and a great story. Many happy years for this car and the family ahead ~ Chuck
Man, this is great, same day I bought myself my 1966 AMC Rambler Ambassador 990, Mike Musto drops an episode of one of my absolute favorite Mopars of all time! Enjoyed Big Muscle, and it's the same with this. Keep doing what you're doing Mike, I love how in depth you get with these beloved classics!
SO glad to see Mike Musto again! I followed the Big Muscle series and he was instrumental in me buying my '67 Mustang Fastback when he shot a video in the desert in Dubai. His words were absolutely inspiring and not your usual overbearing motoring presenter in the slightest. Here's to more great videos from Mike like this 😎
My first car was a 1970 R/T Dodge Charger with a 440 Magnum, auto trans, power steering, cruise control, AC, AM/FM 8 Track Stereo. It was blue with a black vinyl top, and a blue interior.
Hey Mike we need to see a lot more of you doing what you do best. Drive these cars and talk to the people who own them. Big Muscle was a great show we want more of that please. The Dodge Charger in this episode is an awesome car. I love that burnt orange color! The owner is a typical good guy that you often see behind the wheel of these cars. Cheers from a fellow enthusiast.
Truly appreciate that, thank you, and trust me, there's more coming. We're currently in production for The House of Muscle which will be airing 4th quarter.
Enjoyed the video, love the car. I owned a new 1969 Charger back in 1969 and would have it still if it hadn't been t-boned by a woman who ran a red light. I'm always looking for another one out there that would take me back in time, but haven't committed to putting out the bucks for it. I like very much the way Mike described the differences from 1968 to 1970 models. I guess he could have commented on the turn signals in the hood, but not a big deal. I also owned a 1972 gun metal grey Charger SE, but the 69 will always be my dream car.
Let them come out with their straight six in their new charger, but designed the body where it can accommodate the 392 drivetrain that would be the trick Stellantis needs to pull
The unfortunate truth is that Stellantis, due to government restrictions and carb regulations can no long make those engines - it sucks but it's not their fault.
I would of got a 68-70 with the 383 4bbl, I am a cruiser it be perfect, I would love to find even a 318 or 383 2bbl and just put duels on it and drive away…. very nice car and man who owns it. ☺️ Mike how can you be contacted about a car of mine that was popular in the 70’s but seldom seen today, I would love to see it featured by you. Thanks 👍
I own a ''69 Charger White Hat Special with a 383 Cu" engine with a 2 BBL carburetor. I have kept it as original as possible down to the original deep dish wheel covers, original CA black plate and original dealer license plate frames. However, I think it is time for a new custodian to take over the ownership of this car. I know it's entire history as well as the original owner who I worked with. My car is F5 green, medium green metallic with an F8 green vinyl roof and F8 green interior which is mostly original. When I sympathetically restored this car back in the early 90's, it became apparent that it was too nice to modify.
Mike - great segment on an awesome ride! I learned so much from your video, appreciate your detail. I will also check into your insurance sponsor for my upcoming antique auto policy. Keep up the great work.
I have what's left of a '70 Charger 500. It sat on grass for ten years before I got it, so there's nothing left of the chassis. I'm having a new chassis fabricated by a NASCAR shop so it won't be torsion bar anymore...but double wishbones in front with coil overs and a Moser Dana 60 4-link out back with coil overs. For an engine, I went all modern with a crate Hellcat Redeye and a Tranzilla 6-speed manual. Trying to decide if I want to leave it as a Charger or build it into a Daytona. The Daytona is my favorite car of all time. Mike beat me to it! I really like Angrier. Just worried about overheating but I'd joined the Winged Warriors Club and some of their guys told me with bigger modern aluminum radiators that they're fine. So we'll see. Mine will be more of an AMD Charger but at least I'm saving it from the scrap yard.
I see a few here in eastern North Carolina that car shows Simply Beautiful always wanted one could never afford one I take my parents 82 Chrysler New Yorker Fifth Avenue to car shows showroom condition
I had a vision of adding the Daytona wing to my 70 RT , and painting it like a navy jet markings ! 3.23 gears were ideal. As a passenger in my brothers low miles 69 RT i witnessed it ẅith its 440 4bl it was able to pin the150 mph speedo on level freeway , it was the early 80's and normal to test your cars top speed with little risk of getting caught!! As unbelievable as it sounds it was sporting taller tires than stock hieght!in the rear 50's ,which aren't even top speed choice! 150 plus all stock, except for slotted rims an fat rubber! ,and so smooth like normal speeds! 68-70 RT Chargers were highway stars!
Nice Car, 3:23 perfect gear for this car. Will run 110 mph all day long without any problems (heat) around 130 these big "B" bodies push so much air they get light in the steering anyhow. Pseudo pistol grip on an automatic always frost my cake but that's a personal opinion.
Love it .. I’ve had my Dakota RT since new it’s been featured in Hemmings article .. The Gentleman Racer .. Mopar action .. Magnaflow instagram .. I’d love to get on this show
I miss the show /BigMuscle
Stay tuned because we're currently in production for The House of Muscle that will be returning 4th qtr!

Dominic Toretto approves this dodge!!
Musto in his happy place! Nice to see a series on stock muscle cars instead of all the modified/pro-tour/SEMA cars.
The owners last name is Ford and he choose a Dodge , how Cool is that !
Right!
Brilliant! Lovely car, being driven. Presenter obviously knows ‘Chargers’ and is refreshingly honest and open about them. Enjoyed that! 👍👍👍
Don't like that big heavy wraparound bumper, prefer the '68... '68 tail lights, also...

Couldn't agree more!
It's a darn shame that not many people appreciate the classics.
Beautiful Mopar !

Hey Chuck! We're trying Sir - and you're right, it was a great car that belongs to an even better family!

Great car to showcase! Can’t wait for House of Muscle

Life is way too short... if you owned a '69 back in '69, then go out and own a '69 in '24 - trust me, you won't be sorry!

Yup - most of all, enjoy it!
My 69 Super Bee 383 4-speed had Hawaiian license plates when I bought it in the 80s wish I had a time machine
We all do Sir...

Definitely contact @hemmings - we know these cars inside and out and can absolutely help find its next caretaker.
This is one of the cars that embodies the quintessential styling of the era so well.
We completely agree

Thank you - it's easy when it's a great car! And definitely check out American Collectors - great company and great people!

RT's did not come standard with a tach - had to order as an option - had a 70' RT, all original, for over 22 years
Roger that, and thanks for the clarification.
I know how you feel, my daily driver as a teen was a 70 r/t, best car ever
I didn't here them discuss what color it was,but its awesome,l would love to have my 68 bronco the same color.
The color is B5 Burnt Orange - hope this helps!
@@drivebigmuscle8080 It is FK5 Burnt Orange

Nice, except the horrible tires.
Are they the best tires? No. But for some reason Radial T/As just look right on a muscle car.
your like a steve magante clone
these old cars are no good
