Well done, man gonna do the same procedure in spring or summer, have the same problem. The real problem would be finding the same material as the pillars have (black)
I'm currently shopping around for materials. The challenge for me is that the headliner is two tone. Most of it is white, and then there are two strips running lengthwise that are black in order to blend well with the black trim. I'm thinking the best way out would be to buy some similar fabric to what's currently there (not headliner fabric, don't need the foam-backing for this part) and sewing it to the headliner fabric. I was going to go for white suede as the main material, but since it costs a million dollars to ship it from the U.S, and have found no suppliers for it in Canada, I'm going to settle for a more basic headliner finish. It's too bad, the headliner is probably the only place that suede belongs in a car...
@@anthonythurman3043 I don't see how the liner is suppose to go out the trunk then, the opening between the trunk and the passenger compartment would way too narrow.
if this is a C220 and not a C230 the headliner board can be removed thru the front door without removing the front seat. The headliner board of the C220 is smaller than the C230/240.
I just did this yesterday on my 96 C220. All I did was fully recline both front seats, put gear shift to D4 and maneuvered the board thru the front passenger door. Pillars A B C trim should be loosened to release board.
I does appear that way, but the front door has a wider opening. I have done this on my C180 Espirit, works like a treat. I covered the headliner in black suede fabric, but I rekon the light material you used looks better.
@@jacobnel1880 You know sometimes I doubt that and wished I went with a black fabric! Eitherway it's better than the plastic non-sense that was there before.
Since it's the foam layer that fails, simply adding more glue would only work temporarily if at all, there wouldn't be good surfaces to adhere to. If you want a fix that would last a long time, you need to use a contact cement, which works a lot better if you put some pressure on it while it cures, so the headliner has to be out of the car, and you'd need to clean the old foam off.
I learn something every time I watch your channel, thanks for keeping up the faith! My headliner is in worse shape than this, thanks for the help!
I'm glad I could help!
Super Step by Step.. Helped me LOTS! Cheers!
Glad you found the video useful!
Thank you for posting. Just what I need.
Glad it helped! Thanks for watching.

I have to do this to my 95 c36..thanks for sharing these great pointers💪👍..I wonder if the liner can be pulled from the trunk?
Do you have a wagon/estate? I forgot those body types existed in the W202, in NA we only got the sedan/saloon body type.
@@PatsCarGarage No..I have the c36 95 amg sedan

removing the seats only takes a few minutes and makes this job a lot easier.

What a prick of a job to do.
Thank you very much it was helpful and I am gonna do the same to my C220 the roof is seating on my head.
Very helpful video. Thank you so much for showing us. I’ve been rocking my head trying to figure out to fix this. Now I know how 👍🏻👍🏻👌🏻
👌👌very well explained buddy 👍👍👍 thanks a lot.
Very helpful for a Pilar removal - thanks
Another easy way is to leave the seats in, and move the liner through the front passenger door, which has a bigger opening.
I feel like that wouldn't work though, the front passenger door would be open the wrong way

@@PatsCarGarage you are confusing me now! I bought another 200 W202, also with sagging HL, and I thought I am going light this time.
@@jacobnel1880 I'm sure they would both look good!
Why not just cut the line between the black and vinyl white material and glue it easier on the top roof and the edges ??

no sunroof????
Don't like sunroofs, Am glad I don't have one.
Great content!!
Thanks!
I was going to attempt this on my w202, the liner was hitting my head. I ended up using T-pins to hold it up and it's been like that ever since :D
that's probably the easiest solution, but luckily doing this isn't too bad, and the nice thing is I can now choose whatever material I want
No sunroof?
Nah man, I don't like sunroofs, I'm glad I don't have one.
@@BloodlineMedia I honestly never open sunroofs (sunrooves?). I rarely even open windows.
