Bosses are what makes this game so unique. Now imagine a run where I can only use the loot acquired from bosses. Not only the weapons, but also the accessories, the armor pieces, the mounts and the grapling hooks have to be dropped from a boss.

Technically speaking, you could go full summoner, as the spooky armour is made from spooky wood, which drops from Mourning Wood. Necromantic Scroll also drops from Mourning Wood, giving you an extra minion slot. Couple that with the terraprisma and kaleidoscope from EoL, and you have a killer summoner loadout.

Its funny how good the Bone Helm is in Terraria, its usually past an endgame boss in DST which allows you to go insane (nightmare creatures spawn, no Gestalts on Lunar Island, and different bunnies) but with the Bone Helm the Nightmare Creatures are neutral to you

I liked how this turned out to be a sort of combination summoner and ranged run. You can really get a lot of mileage out of hallowed armor all the way to the end of hardmode.
I would actually be very interested in seeing a calamity version of this challenge!!

@@noahhughes3263 Yea every post ML armor would be unusable. You'd have to do the GP "crafting only" solution and use valhalla knight for all of post ML
A fun playthrough you could do that I've done before is a no crafting run, i.e. The crafting menu and all crafting stations are banned. It is super fun because armor/ tool progression completely changes, npc housing suddenly becomes a challenge to make and you are reliant on loot and npc shops for everything and you can't combine accessories anymore
I think you misspelt miserable when you wrote fun it would be so tedious getting boss drops and without the ability to craft proper armor it would be border line impossible.

Massive respect for no moonlord nurse cheese. A lot content creators who do challenges like this always uses the nurse at the end against the moonlord and I question what was the point of the challenge if you cheese the final boss

This was my favorite challenge you’ve done yet! I love the challenges that require out of the box thinking to complete. And I think it’d be awesome if you did the same thing but with only using event loot, like invasions, blood moons, eclipses, etc. Keep up the awesome work man

Not really a ‘walking bee’ so much as you are THE BEE GOD.
Interestingly enough, you didn't even need to optimise the build. Empress wings, Eventide, Betsy's loot - none of that. Great run!
If you count the Mourning Wood as a boss (it has a healthbar) then you can use the spooky armor as well right? Also the necromantic scroll for more Terraprismas.

Interesting to see another TH-camr do this challenge, quite a few differences in how we each approached it. I’ll admit it felt a little cheaty to use silt to kill the EoW, and using minecarts so much kinda negated any movement challenges you may have faced. I found it quite a fun challenge to use the slimy saddle against the EoC and the queen bee mount against the queen slime, probably two of my favourite terraria moments. Overall a really enjoyable video, looking forward to the next one
I much rather prefer your version instead. It felt much more legit and I appreciated the way you made things work even when you had limited gear, not using glitches or overpowered methods to killing bosses and just stuck to the old fashioned ways.

Maybe in terms of weapons, but I’d say the chester pet and one of the best axes in the entire game are still the main draws of the boss.

they count as bosses they do show up under bosses in the bestiary after all

A cool trick I found: if you place a cannon facing up on a platform around 20 blocks above the ground and spam cannon balls, you can cheese the Devourer while just needing to dodge a little. Only works when you have 150 or more cannonballs and beware of the drones.
Just casually speedruns bosses with limited items while im over here struggling without any limits.... thanks for the ideas!

Did you intentionally not allow the miniboss/boss drops from events, like pumpkin moons mourning wood, which would give spooky wood for spooky armour, making the terraprisma better? Or some other weapon like the blizzard staff from ice queen. Is this because the event bosses aren't actually bosses, or because you just didn't want to use them? Genuinely interested as it would've made the run easier with them.

I’ve beat daytime empress but only with tons of movement accessories and lots of arena and potion prep. Phantasm just does it with a shield of Cthulhu and some wings, madlad
I actually use the gelatinous pylon in lieu of wings a fair bit of time just for the extra accessory slot.

I mean, you get the Hallowed bars from any mech boss, and every soul (Might, Fright and Sight.) Are also dropped from mechs.

11:17 best bullets are actually venom, they have a lot of damage and give a venom effect (15 dmg) to the enemy
Another way you could have beaten the EoW is through the slime mount: Take the worm to the surface and goomba stomp it to death
