- I know I have done this before but this video is created because I focused more on the reworked weapons instead of just using swords of all kinds.
Also, I will not be using Sickles or any other weapons that are swords only on the wiki page because of how many of you were disappointed the last time.

They made the blade of grass so good and nobody talks about it I swear. I honestly prefer it over volcano for the simple fact of being able to swing in the direction your cursor is which I think should be added to all swords.
True, blade of grass is very good now, but once you reach queen bee and skeleton you have to start using the volcano as the dps from blade of grass (in master mode at least) really tanks around that point of the game

I really like the new blade of grass, but in master mode on the new getfixedboi seed, the projectiles only do 5-10 damage
@@notyou3442 They only do 5-10 damage everywhere. The damage isn't anything to write home about, but it's homing and goes through blocks, and doesn't hinder the base sword's damage.
@@BoulderGod I have to disagree on master mode skeleton has 10k+ hp and each projectile from the blade of grass hits for like 5 damage, it's possible, I don't doubt it, but you're way better off using the volcano for 50+ damage a hit, neither weapon would shred skeleton, but I think volcano is more reliable
Doing a run of this in Master mode, before this update I'd never been able to say that I tanked my way through most pre-hard mode bosses just with swords lmao. Night Edge feels opressive af now, feels totally worth it to sacrifece the required swords.
Update, WoF got destroyed by Night's Edge.
ong it is actually one of the best weapons early hardmode now too if your allowed to stay close up

Night's edge was always my fav melee weapon. Even pre 1.4.4. And im so happy that it got the rework it deserved.

Wish they would implement some of these effects in the hardmode ore swords. Colbalt sword can be like muramasa on crack, mythril could have the lights bane effect, Orichalcum armor set bonus has the flower petal effect going on, so why not implement that onto the sword like how the blade of grass works? Not sure about Palladium, but Adamantite and Titanium should be the fearsome boss slayers, either could be Night's Edge 2.0 before you can upgrade it to its true form.
Palladium is centered on regen so maybye life steal like the one the armor gives you but it's instant health instead of boosted regen

or leave that to the titanium swords to simulate a similar feel to the titanium shards...
palladium is zig-zagged, so when you strike an enemy it makes a far reaching zap in the direction of the enemy
Those swords aren’t as “iconic” as the revamped swords. Which basically “terra blade” materials, and the fact that you will need to use the material of “terrablade” to carry you through the game until you get to craft your terrablade
This sword run only was incredible... im still waiting the spears only rework
I just finished my True Melee Master mode run, and I gotta say, it wasn’t very hard, aside from Empress (took 20 tries) where I had to use True Excalibur, Psycho Knife and Keybrand only. The idea is to use the Beetle Tank armor and Dodge accessories and fly directly into Empress’ huge sun ray attack while using Psycho Knife to do like 2000 dps

I defeated the mechs using the night's edge after the update dropped . I actually used palladium armor so i can tank stuff. Felt refreshing when using an armor i never considered using
I'm super excited for the premiere, and even more excited to give this run a try! If only horseman's blade still had the dummy exploit...

The dash use of the volcano during skeletron is insane, you're a very skilled player!
night's edge was a good option at the time, but over the updates other, better options were introduced. what 1.4.4 did was bring it up to par with the other options at your disposal.
I'm just glad the keybrand is used in this run it's so underrated imo although it lacks effects, a little annoyed it wasn't used as a recipe in zenith, nor it got reworked in 1.4.4, but it's still fine
It has a unique effect dumbass.
Since you wanted a twist and went for valhalla armor what about your next run you get empress wings rather than fishron wings.
13:30 If what I am looking at is correct, it may be because you were not as close as you were before and you did not have the potions you had before either. It is kind of wacky to me that the nights edge can carry this far now though, it used to get outclassed quickly but now it looks op
I’m currently doing a sword only playthrough, only in master mode, and it’s going good so far
Ok, I’m trying the Knight’s Edge against WoF. Expert and Master WoF is such a pain I usually end up using the star cannon since my worlds never want to generate a chest with a hell wing bow(but they love giving me 37 treasure magnets). But that was way fast for a WoF fight

Currently doing a true melee master mode playthrough on the don't dig up seed... I was astonished how the night's edge completely destroyed the WoF, even on master mode

Phantasm, you can downgrade adamantite or titanium to orichalcum using shimmer, no fishing necessary :)

I find it funny how when he defeated queen bee, it threw itself into a little pocket in the wall.
Melee guys eating good with this update, the weapons finally feel fun to use compared to similar tools other classes get. All it took was clear modded inspiration.
Too bad they can't swing towards the cursor with a lot of swords which really hinders them.

Planning on doing a melee class run, so this will help me a little.
Dude this is one of my favorite updates because it helped out melee a lot.
Melee in early feels like sokka man, combat with sword for close range, and boomerang for long range.
The fledgeling wings are now so stupidly rare that the only real way of obtaining them which doesn’t require an absurd amount of world grinding (IE, generating new worlds over and over again) is fishing for sky crates.
Hehe this is why i saved my pre 1.4.4 worlds most of them have 3 fledgling wings in each world it was dumb making wings that work worse than a cloud in a bottle so rare but this is redigit we gott take the good with the bad m8
it's almost like the game isn't balanced for you having them, so they made it harder
what surprised me the most is the use of no flasks against queen slime
the Valhalla set is surprisingly good, I just used it in my playthrough and it was performing well.

The blade of grass is one of my favourites. I just started a melee only playthrough and it's carrying pre boss
fledgling wings can be obtained via fishing on a sky island by chance or in a crate
Melee finally has less range then ranged.

I remember in pedguins minigame server one of the survivals was no armor melee only and me and one other guy were able to end it with zenith :)
The nights edge does not have better dps than the Excalibur, but it does have more range
Just started a master (journey because screw farming herbs and fishing) melee playthrough on celebrationmk10, can't wait to really get into it!
I could be wrong but im pretty sure throwing hardmode ores into the shimmer changes them to the other variant, you wanted orichalcum but got mythril, but i think you could still get it
I just tested it, it does, pre hardmode ores do some weird things like copper turns to stone, gold turned to tungsten, but the hardmode ores always just swapped for me :)

the phaseblade/saber should deflect projectiles with it's swing. Lore accurate, unique ability, might make it worthwhile against some bosses or events
You could’ve changed the hardmode ores using shimmer to get the oricalcum set you wanted

Yo Phantasm, you should have tried the Beam Sword for the Twins to maintain a consistent damage output against the moving bosses. That's what I used to beat the Twins and Skeletron Prime (Destroyer was melted by the Excalibur) surprisingly good sword. Great video!
sucks that u didn't use blood butcher in my current run it was so good early on that spike inflict damage is damn good
all the rework sword are great and very powerfull i like the changes what they did. :)

So any plans for doing the 'Getfixedboi' seed? Mostly asking since weapons are moved around the progression tiers from what I've seen so far. Traveling merchant sold a keybrand with around 18 damage before any bosses died and a wand of sparking was around 45-50 damage
Yeah, the remix seed switches the places of some weapons
Katana and keybrand
Magic dagger and wand of sparking/frosting
Ice bow and Snowball launcher
I was gonna do melee but then i was lucky and found and unreal boomstick an unreal musket and the first reforge for my Phoenix blaster was unreal so i think rngesus wants me to continue to be his ranger
doing a mainly yoyo playthrough but collecting certain weapons that are iconic, and I get legendary on my true excalibur when I craft it.
Still beats ML without an arena. Legend
A pre hardmode melee weapon doing 1000+ dps against wall of flesh without optimized gear. That's nuts.
Now here's a question for true melee, doe sthe nights edge short range "projectile" (that is it's directional swing with a slight delay) remove it for true melee or is it to close and short range to still be considered a projectile?

For a playthrough where you're not speeding through progression like phantasm did here, beating EoC with the nights edge, it has great closerange dps (and the slash hits through walls)

I wish there was a revamp with the phase sabers, they are too weak for a hard mode weapon compared to the other choices

Right now since its Halloween they changed the hearts to apple candy and dress some of the enemys And you also get goodie bags.

I had an idea for a strange(and possibly impossible) challenge run in which you can't use any weapons, traps, or npcs. You have to rely on damage-dealing accessories or armor. Honestly I doubt your ability to kill Moonlord with it, but I think it would be interesting to see how far you could push it. Could you defeat the wall of flesh?
It is literally impossible because you need to fucking get stuff to do anything but you can't use anything to get it.
@@pustota7254 While I'm sure there are better sources, cactus armor is capable of hurting enemies, and queen bee is a timeless fight incapable of healing so you could whittle down her health and get the honeycomb, which releases bees upon damage. With this, you could likely kill Skeletron and get the bone glove.

@@pustota7254 Ah, my bad. I thought it was just when you damaged enemies. In that case the Shield of Cthulu would likely be the next accessory you would use, and then the Bone Helm.
You should do a run where you can only use collab weapons. This means dungeon defenders and dont starve items and some yoyos. I think it could be fun
That’s tapped most are only pre hard mode and there’s barely any weapons

the drunk world seed would be better because u can the murmamasa pre boss thus allowing u to get nights edge pre boss unless u count killing the creepers from the boc or killing segments of the eow without killing them
For the twins fight, frostbrand is much better because the projectiles give you extra range

I love watching your videos, but if i could make a selfish request… could you add a small timer to the bottom left of the screen to show how long the takes? It would give a better idea of how long some of the grinding takes and to show how difficult a section is.
You can show hp and mana numbers with fancy hp mana bars with the update.
That was added since 1.4 dropped lol
