In The Academy Trilogy Han also mentions that in one of the runs they scrapped off most of the falcons bottom armor coming to close to the Maw.
I like the thought that Han wasn't the one flying the ship when the record was set but was tied up out the back while it was occurring. It's never said that Han made the run, it was the ship. I would find that amusing. For example, imagine if it was Qi'ra flying the ship.

Purgill don't have tentacles shaped like that. Unless this is some sort of ancient ancestor like the firaxan sharks.
Rebels is very visually stylised. Many things we've seen in Rebels look quite different in the live action films. Most notable are probably the TIEs and the Star Destroyers. But I don't think it's unlikely purrgils would be slightly redesigned for live action if they are in the film.

There is always a bit of truth in legends
The mobile game Star Wars Commander is considered canon I believe, and they introduced the zombie troops from that book. So that virus or whatever it actually is considered canon. Maybe you can confirm that canon status and also talk about other things from that game that have introduced new canon lore!

In Battlefront 2 there were similar tentacles, when they flew through Bespin. If memory serves. I'll have to go back and look, but I'm pretty they're similar environments. So when I watched the Solo trailer I thought that was Bespin.
I like this version of the Kessel run more, thinking you gotta deal with black holes, asteroids, unknown creatures, and the empire on your trail all at once.

Father=good, Son=dark, Daughter=light, what about the Mother? While in Legends, their explanation iskinda dumb, it could actually be a cool concept if done right.

I think it would be more likely if the tentacle monster is a reference to the Terror From Beyond Hyperspace Gate Thingy in one of the add-ons for Star Wars The Old Republic.

In the original script (the same script that was dug up to confirm han shot greedo and greedo never fired), it says that luke gawks at hans stupidity after he mentions the kessel run and making it in 14 parsecs.

The ORIGINAL script was written as “12 standard time parts.“ it was changed to parsec later. Because some idiot didn’t know what a parsec was I thought it was a unit of time.

I imagine the concept of "Legends," (for the expanded universe,) kind of like how we imagine all of our myths and legends, (in our universe,) always having a foot in reality.
Like, nobody can say with 100% certainty how much of a factual account Homer's "Iliad" is.
Helen of Troy, the Trojan wars, and the Trojan horse are all part of a "legendary," story, that actually involved historical places, and people, like Paris and Hector, King Priam, and the Spartan king Agamemnon, but there is still debate among scholars whether there ever was an, "Achilles."
And even more historians doubt that if there was, he would have been invulnerable except for on his heel because that's where his goddess mother's fingers were holding him when he was dipped into the sea for magical protection from Zeus.
In Homer's stories, like the "Iliad," and, "Odyssey," the line between "Canon" and "Legends" is blurred, but his fictional accounts and the mythologies that have survived all throughout history ever since are always rooted in fact.
And there are similar examples for most cultures on Earth, throughout history.
Stories of supernatural Heroes and Villains, all based around actual historical events and real places involving people who really existed.
That is EXACTLY how I understand the Star Wars Canon/Legends concept.
The main run of films, and "Rebals," and, "The Clone Wars," etc. are the documented historical events, and people.
And the, "Expanded Universe," is the historical account of "Legends." 👍
While that might be the idea behind "Legends," Legends fans such as myself see it as an alternative universe. Like the type Marvel, DC, or even Stark Trek has. It's a mirror universe where some things are different and some things are the same. It's because of this idea that we want Legends to continue to be made because we don't care about the Disney canon.

I have the book Star Wars from a certain point of view it mentioned things about all those years ago and Hans being a smuggler & why greedo doesn't like him.
I'm calling it now: in "Solo," he's going to set the Kessel Run record in the movie, maybe even on the first try. Because movies can't help themselves.

In the recent Marvel Star Wars issue #45, page 3, Han tells Luke about Loop Juice which is fermented in the high gravity that comes with black holes that are up and down the Kessel Run. I'll wager that what we see in the trailer is going to be the Kessel Run. There will be no black holes, it's just going to be an extremely dangerous shortcut through a nebula that contains a space monster, and will thus retcon any and all past canon material. Releases of those materials will have the wording changed under orders from the Lucasfilm Storygroup much like how they did the same with the recent Darth Vader comic issue #13. So much for everything being canon and claiming that there will be no problems and inconsistencies because of it. I'll be surprised if there will be black holes.
What wording was changed in Darth Vader?
In its original release, the beginning crawl for the issue stated that this story was taking place three years after ROTS. However, Darth Vader appears with the Sixth Brother, who was killed by Ahsoka shortly after the film hence the confusion on the timeline. The Lucasfilm Storgroup changed the timeline to be happening less than a year after the film instead, so the story pretty much continues right after where the last one left off. In future releases such as the volume or collection set, the words will be something different than three years. Unfortunately, this further confuses the issue when we see the Empire using Star Destroyers, TIE fighters, and AT-DPs already even though canonically speaking the Empire didn't start constructing those things until several years later. So, this comic issue and the following ones are a really big mess right now. Honestly, it would've been a simple fix for a Storygroup member or even Pablo Hidalgo himself to review the comic and pick out the inconsistencies before it was released. I don't know why they didn't but it was terribly mishandled. I don't doubt that this is going to be a reoccurring issue for Lucasfilm as it continues especially when releasing films that show and say one thing but the comics and books say another.
Grand Admiral Thrawn Yeah. I think it stems down to two main issues:
1. Lucasfilm is so paranoid about plot leaks that anyone not working directly with them (i.e. novelists, Marvel, etc.) is totally in the dark about what's coming in the next big thing and is just going off of official stuff that the general public knows about.
2. Star Wars media just has too much material from too many different people coming out at once to be 100% consistent. It's just a fact of life. The Story Group always has been and always will be in way over their heads coordinating a global brand. Honestly, I'm just glad that their keeping things together as well as they have.

E B But how can it be a typo when there are TIE Fighters, AT-DPs, and Star Destroyers? The point that the author was trying to make was that the story was going to go forward with a time jump. They were going to have more Imperial elements (for reasons I can't fathom) and have Darth Vader take an active role in expanding the Empire much like how he did in _Tarkin_ . He was no longer going to be this rising Sith Lord who is hell bent on eradicating the Jedi, but be much more calculating and experienced. However, because someone didn't do his homework very well, we have the inconsistency that was the Sixth Brother. And now with the timeline of this story changed, we have an inconsistency that is the presence of Imperial vehicles when there shouldn't be.
One thing: What's up with that TIE at 4:11?

Ghost Relic Abeloth signifies every Legends started to get wrong in my opinion, extreme power crawl, mega series and being overly edgy and 'dark'. I love Legends but I personally dislike everything after the X-Wing book Starfighters of Adumar (and some stuff inbetween).

Why couldn't we get Abeloth, or a version of her, in canon? They've set up 'The Ones', The Father, Son and Daughter, so why not bring in The Mother eventually? That could be one of the stories for Star Wars Resistance. Maybe Ezra and Thrawn wound up in her domain? What if Snoke is the spawn of Abeloth?! :o

I actually kind of hope that it is Abaloth TBH.
This is why I unsubbed from alot of other theory channels, they ruined TLJ for me, had tons of expectations that never came but recently looking at the blu ray without judgment and it is a solid movie only part I hated was how Jonson killed off Ackbar, he should have been the one light speed ramming the supremacy.
Point is you only deal with facts and not what you think would be in it or rumors.

Abeloth was hot garbage. If the "Second Galactic Civil War" wasn't Legends stretching itself too far, then Abeloth and the lost tribe of Sith were. Jedi Knight Ben Skywalker was the only good thing beyond the Yuuzhan Vong. Everything after the Yuuzhan Vong War is best left forgotten.
Or what if the creature is actually azathoth. A little Lovecraft in star wars I day. Lol 😂😂😂

I would prefer it if they kept Abeloth to Legends. I am okay if they do a little mention towards her in Solo; but to me, and this is my opinion; she was one of the most confusing, weird; and just overall terrible aspects of Legends.
A parsec is a unit of DISTANCE. So in ANH, Han says he did the Kessel run in ' a distance' and not time. It's fucked and makes no sense. So let's see.
I'll admit, I'm partial to the idea that Han was just bullshitting Obi-Wan with that claim, but anyway... Because of the nebula, black holes, and asteroids, pilots need to take many detours around the countless hazards, meaning a longer distance needs to be traveled to safely travel from one side of the Kessel Run to the next: Taking the safest possible route, it's 18 Parsecs long.
The tentacled creatures are the space whales from Rebels.

I would love to see a twist where Han doesn't even complete the Kessel Run and has to use an escape pod to evacuate the Falcon leaving Chewie and maybe Lando or Ki'ra to finish the run. I am leaning towards Ki'ra making the run with Chewie since Lando would have probably mentioned it to Han. This makes the line: "You never heard of the Millennium Falcon?..." More literal seeing as Han never says HE personally made the run, only the ship.
Han never completed it, which adds to his character being a swindler, scoundral and semi untrustworthy. Ki'ra isn't in anything else so we kind of know her end, makes sense for Han to keep the lie going.
Keith It might add to his character being a swindler and scoundrel, but it would completely take away from him being anywhere near the greatest pilot in the galaxy. Also it would pretty much make him out to be a coward which would completely ruin the character IMO.
