- Vinyl covered micromouse maze walls save a lot of time and mess compared to painting. The materials are readily available and easy to apply.
UK contest walls are made from MDF and faced with Matt White Ritrama Ri-Mark vinyl. The colour code is M300. You can get it from several online suppliers. For example:

The wall tops are covered with red PVC electrical tape. Make sure it is not under tension when applied or it will shrink back and peel off. For best results on the cut MDF surfaces, you need a good clean cut in decent quality material. Failing that, sand off some of the fuzziness.
Take care to cut closely and rub down the edges thoroughly. If there are still noticeable tape edges, fine sandpaper can be used to remove them. Do this right and the vinyl and tape should not lift off.

Very clever!
Great, how much does it cost 😊?
I would estimate about 25-35p per wall for materials (maybe NTD 11-15). That is for the MDF, tabs and vinyl covering. The walls are quick to make but need some skill with a table saw. A future video will describe that process.
