I am sorry to hear that you are having those horrible symptoms with those meds. Take a vitamin b complex vitamin derived from plants. I take catalyne complex, helps with energy. I hope you feel better soon!

I have b12 deficiency. I have a new pcp so he's ordering new panel but I'm hoping I don't need daily injections. I hope you get yours checked soon. I do take otc b12 but I don't know if it is doing me any good or not. I wasn't aware of how serious it can be until my levels were severely low. Scary stuff for sure! I can't believe your dr charges 200...crazy! So glad you have other options :) hugs

209serenity its pretty insane and expensive!! He said today if it is b12 issues I will probably need injections or a patch since orally its not absorbing but he is running a bunch of blood work.

I've decided once we're done the infertility journey no matter what outcome we have, I'm stopping the metformin. I don't like the way it makes me feel, my stomach still can't tolerate it. They even gave me the extended release, which has made if a little easier. I notice sometimes I'll stand up quick and feel dizzy! And I've been on it for a while also. Of I'm only taking it for my infertility, I don't see continuing it. I've been noticing I'm more tired too, but never thought it'd have any connection to the metformin. Something I'll have to look into.

I get the dizzy spells if I stand up too quickly too. Infertility sucks.

If metformin is causing a vitamin B deficiency you should be taking folate instead of folic acid. Folic acid is in the vitamin B family. If your body isn't absorbing vitamin B you might not be getting enough folic acid for your eggs. That is not cool that metformin can cause this problem. Knowing that after I have another baby I'm going to stop taking it. I don't want to lose my marbles. Let us know what the doctor says.

I am stressing out about it! My stupid doctor won't run the blood work before I go see him! He wants me to go see him then he will check so like 200 bucks plus the blood work then if I am right I need to go back to see him another 200 bucks! So I made a appointment with Justin's work clinic because they can order labs and its only 25 bucks!!! Then I can take my labs to him and save myself some money !
