This has been such a great tip!!! My orchids that I was sure would die are thriving. I bought a Foxglove last week for $3.50 because it was cracked and falling over. I know that Aloe Vera has a lot of properties, but I didn’t know that it was good for plants until I watched your channel. I’m going to give more attention to the Aloes growing in my backyard now. Thank you for your great tips.
Thank goodness I found this in English. The very few I have tried to watch had the worst English subtitles ever. Visually it was still difficult. Thank you for going into needed details of using this aloe vera method that I have been waiting to do for so long!
Hello Madam Maria💋 thank you so much for sharing your secret ingredients for caring orchids as well. By watching your channel helps me a lot my Vandas and Dendro and other plants, now they bloom crazily thanks again God bless you sweet Maria.
Wish I saw this before I bought my Keiki paste that just arrived yesterday. Lol. But glad I saw it cause I am going to try it out. Thanks for sharing!!!
Yes they are absolutely amazing...and did you know that you can cut grass and make a fertilizer tea out of it that is high in nitrogen....it is amazing how many things we have all around us that we can be using for our plants!
@@PictureMaria1 really? I did not know about that until now...😅 Actually, I am starting to propagate my alovera just now... now that it has more benefits / uses aside from hair thickening. 😅
Well, results don't lie do they? The plants you sent are rooting nicely. Made a nice community pot while they are young then will split when they get some nice root structure going. Thanks, that was a nice thing to get, especially the Vanda. I actually came up with a design for it as a mount/pot. For last and best, i am propagating the tree seeds you sent. I am going to give them away to locals for free. Your tree just might be seen growing in twenty years all over south Alabama. Who knows where those seeds you sent might spread. Just one question. Have you ever seen bees on the blossoms of this tree? Don't fear them. They are just collecting resources.
Yes indeed! I have been in the lab for quite some time now working with natural materials to make fertilizers and growth hormones to see which work the best and what results I've received. It's one thing to talk about it and another to literally witness the results and be able to share good sound information. It is quite a pleasure when my orchid buddies let me know that the information that I've shared has literally benefitted them. I am so happy that you can appreciate the piece of my graden that I sent! I hope they do exceedingly well for you! The mount pot sounds awesome! You are quite the orchid container builder! :) ...and that is a fabulous thing that you are doing with the seeds...I am truly hoping that they can do well in your area. They are fast growers and can actually begin blooming between 2-3 years if given the proper conditions. Also when this tree matures, the outter bark of the tree is quite unusual where it has somewhat of a cork like feel...you can actually press into the bark and it has a little bit of a spongy feel to it...I believe that is why it is so easy to mount on this tree. And the bees absolutely love the large florescent trumpet flowers from this tree. All throughout the day you will see swarming and buzzing about hard at work. I've gotten used to the bees...they don't bother me and I don't bother them. We live in beautiful peaceful harmony.
OMG! This video is a life saviour. I'm was looking up for days I can grow keikis and finally got one that actually makes sense! And it's easyyy. Thank you sooo mucchh. Also, if I don't have sphagnum moss, what can I use as substitute?
This is very interesting! I have two phals that I bought not knowing that they had crown rot! I was about to buy keiki paste, the exact one in this video, to try and get them to create basal keikis (they have no flower spikes). I would like to try this method first. Do you recommend using any aloe vera, as I do not have a plant of my own? Sometimes they sell aloe leaves in the grocery store. I can start there?
Great video... I never knew this. Trying to save 3 phals that someone gave me with root rot. Question.. I usually put weak/sick orchids in my fish pond and I think the fish food/ guck/ moving water helps the roots grow. At what point would you repot your phal with new nubby roots? How long should they be?
Thank you so much for watching! The fish water is an excellent source of fertilizer for the orchids so it does provide lots of benefits for it...but I would take it out from time to time to ensure that it has the ability to dry out. Leaving the orchids for too long amounts of time can cause the roots to begin to decay or rot. I would allow the roots to grow about 2" or more before I attempt to repot them and I would only pot them.
Thank you for your kind words, feedback and for joining me on my orchid adventures! I really do appreciate it...and That's what orchid friends are for! I am wishing you the absolute best in your orchid adventures and hoping only orchid success and prosperity for you. HAPPY GROWING!
I have plenty of aloe vera here in my backyard and i want to use an organic fertilizer for my orchids. I dont want to spend an insane amount of money for fertilizers so why not i use these ones. Than you for the tips
THANKS SO MUCH! There is much to be said to getting back to the basics and getting back to nature. There are so many beneficial plants that we take for granted and don't appreciate their properties and their wonderful healing effects. We've become a society that has become dependent the pharmaceutical drugs in which many of them cause more side effects and worse symptoms in the long run. In the Philippines majority of our medicines that we use are the very plants that we grow or are growing all around us...but here in the states they get overlooked and we never even get to learn about how many benefits they have for ourselves as well as our plants.
Thank you and YAAAAAAAAY! I am hoping that you get great results using it. The only thing I would do differently if you are intending on using for water is to peel the outter layer of the green skin before blending. Someone brought it to my attention that you may get better results. Please keep me posted. :)
Am I correct in assuming some of the other plants you have out there with your orchids are Bromeliads (Neoregelia) or were those just another type of orchids?
Hi Maria, I’ve learned a lot from your videos. Thanks for sharing! Would it be too much if I wrap aloe vera with sphagnum moss around old wanda roots or stems? (Trying to combine what I learned from your various videos ;)) Thanks!
I think that is a fantastic idea!!! Great thinking my friend. Please keep me posted on how it reacts to your treatment! I will be keeping my fingers crossed in hopes that it goes exceedingly well for you! HAPPY GROWING! :)
That is a fabulous experiment! You may have to apply more of the aloe vera on a continued basis to get a better result...but I believe because it is natural it has less risk and effect on the plant. Some plants become weaker when using the kekei paste because it does not provide the plant with the same energy/plant growing goodness as the aloe but instead will actually drain the energy from the plant without replenishing it. Please let me know of the results.
@@PictureMaria1 You talked about having to apply the aloe more often got me to thinking. So what I did was cut the aloe and took the top skin off and with my razor knife. Scraped a long strip from the peel and wrapped it loosely around the node with the support stick holding it in place. I wished I could add a picture of it. I'm hopping that will work.
