I track very similarly. My 3 best videos make up 90% of the YT income... until the Super-Cut, which now makes 90% of the revenue on its own. The evergreen content is the dream, but its only green while YT says it is, most go into decline eventually. Interestingly, since the super took off, a number of my other videos have been pulled up with it. One or two decent vids can lift your channel back up. (This side channel will hopefully keep growing too!)
The way that youtube promotes changed, I had a pretty similar thing. It's also what I see when I look at the suggested when I look at youtube. It's all new videos, not much everygreen. I think the tactic these days is to pump the shorts that encourage newbies back to your channel to watch the longer form stuff.
Good and honest breakdown Robin on the realities of earning from social media and woodworking. It sure ain't easy. We still haven't been able to monetize our YT channel in spite of putting considerable and consistent effort into it and other social media- feels like we have more chance of winning the lottery to be honest 😄 Good luck with the build bru - you'll finish it soon and the client will love it
A very honest look at TH-cam and the pitfalls over an extended time. Hopefully the changes kick in and get those figures back up. The content is solid, it’s a great format that you deliver well, hopefully it will gain some more traction so it supplements the new business
It’s a couple things; I’m working on videos for the main channel but they’re all long and taking a while to complete. In the next month I’m hoping to start publishing there again, with some kind of regularity. The other reason is I just feel more comfortable on this channel and the audience here seems more interested in my current content. So it’s a bit of a positive feedback loop
I don't think people realize or just simply refuse to understand that being a TH-cam content creator was never meant to be some high profile high paying career or even meant to just "pay the bills", the fact that it did is kind of one of the many problems with society.
this comment is what ive been saying for a long time now, this year ive noticed a lot of creators dipping out or taking a break from the youtube game, they have all become burnt out and are feeling chained to the "numbers" and analytics of it all, its not healthy and its been going on so long that the new generation thinks its some kind of industry to fall back on... its hurting our economy and our production value as a country... not too mention the psyches of everyone who wants to be "youtube famous"

That was a good watch mate. Interesting to see the numbers. I am pretty close to being monetised on TH-cam so very excited for the future!
That’s awesome, stoked you’re getting close!
Good, honest assessment Robin. Knowing the numbers inside out will help with future decision making. Keep the faith.
Thanks man!

Thanks man. Keep on with the channel, it’ll happen!
I'm 2 minutes in and trying to work out what this channel is about.
This is his second channel. So it's about his first channel. That's how second channels work.

Thanks man. Yeah crossing fingers it picks up 🤞
I'm curious ,why you have 2 channels and it seems like you've neglected the successful one to focus on the unsuccessful one?
