Got me an S6 Lite last year, and I am completely in love. I do not use it for professional drawing tho, but for entry level it's great. Also, I can use it with superdisplay to connect it to my computer and draw through it, it's amazing. I have both the S7+ and the new iPad Air 4. I find myself reaching for the Air more often just because of the smaller form factor, but when I go back to the S7+ I'm always blown away by the screen. I don't know what magic they're using, but it really shows.

I was thinking the same thing! Even now with black friday. It's definitely a steal, not only for it's price, but what it has in store. I was thinking about getting the Tab s6, but realized that the lite was basically the same size, but just a little slower. So it's really a win-win situation, you get a relatively similar sized tablet to the normal s6, great screen, battery and processor, including the S-Pen mind you, for a really low price!

@Rando Weeb The performance is really good on the Lite! I use the S7+ but inherited a S6 Lite. I prefer the Lite for taking notes. It also has better battery life and temperature control.
CSP would probably run well on it (haven't tried since I don't have a multi-device license) but would likely lag if you have too many layers.
I definitely prefer watching vids on the S6 Lite. The S7+ is a bit unwieldy in size for bumming around on YT and whatnot, unless you put it on a stand.
If you have any more specific questions I can try and answer them for you!

@@dcrbdh Painter's achilles heel is still that it lacks an Opacity Pressure function in its brush settings. Really don't understand how the developer hasn't realized how important it is to many artists. I would almost rather lack Flow Pressure to be honest.
Edit: I was wrong - what a surprise (-_-') I suggested the feature on their forum a couple of hours ago and have already gotten a response, quoting Sean Brakefield:
"Hey Alex - this subject tends to confuse a lot of users. It already exists in the app. We are more specific with our use of terminology than other apps with regards to this setting. To see the setting in action, open up Sprayers > Hard Round. To activate pressure opacity you need to turn on Glaze in the Head settings and turn on Flow Pressure. Glaze keeps the transparency from building up when the heads are stamped on top of each other. We use the term Opacity in the Stroke settings because it is the opacity of the whole stroke. Just like how blend mode is the blend mode for the whole stroke. Both of these settings treat the brush stroke as if it were being drawn on a separate layer and then merged to the existing layer when finished. Because of this, these are the stroke layer settings which are applied only once when the stroke is merged with the current layer. This is why many of the Stroke settings cannot utilize dynamics like pressure because those dynamics apply to each stamped brush head that make up the stroke. "

@Joey People keep saying that, but I have to disagree. The S7 is still almost twice the launch price of the S6 lite, and closer to three times its on-sale price. Also, Samsung typically launches the lite versions (S5e and S6 lite) in spring. While it is nice to have more variation with the S7, I'd really like to see some of the latest improvements in a more wallet-friendly package.

Took a look at all the models at Best buy to compare them side to side as well as the accessories. I then gave myself some time to see what came up for sale used and someone listed a brand new unopened S6 Lite for $275. This was months ago when they were $429. Scored......

It’s not that basic. The way these chips are broken up into different cores, it’s really task dependent.
It’s basically marketing speek. The new chip in one task may be 10% faster, but overall that’s not the case.
Apple does this too. 5 years ago when you wanted drawing tech you really had to get top spec devices, now though, we have reached the top of what we need a while ago and you can save money.
As an Example, the iPad Pro is awesome, but not $500 better than the entry level iPad. Especially for drawing.

    • @juantaverasiv741
      @juantaverasiv741 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@LOJOBOY385 Well I'm more of a person that likes to draw occasionally (not a pro by any means), and I feel more comfortable using the Adobe Suite on a desktop when I really want to make something. So the S7+ was more of an "extra" device for me, which I use more for content consumption and for writing notes.
I use Clip Studio Paint on it, which is an incredibly full-featured and professional program. Procreate is probably the best drawing app out there but Clip Studio is a real game-changer for Android. The lower price of the Galaxy Tab made it a really appealing option, plus it's great that the pen is already included.

I have the tab s6. The size is perfect for me. The display is amazing too. I just wished it had a headphone jack. • @Kogami
      @Kogami 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

This is like a year late but for those reading this in the future, it's probably because of the idea that "if you can afford our premium line of tablets/phones, then SURELY you can afford our expensive TWS earbuds too!" whereas budget consumers usually don't care or can't afford any extra stuff, they just want a working phone/tablet and nothing else. That doesn't make it any less wrong though, it's still a very greedy move and how they nickel and dime their "premium consumers" as much as they could.

Samsung really brought their A++ game with this Tab S7+. DeX is a major reason why I'm thinking about eventually replacing my Surface Pro with the Galaxy Tab S line. Really been loving the functionality on my 2017 Note 8. But I want Samsung to first do the following:
    - *Bring* *Back* *Linux* *on* *DeX!* Or better yet, enable the native installation and running of Linux Desktop apps in DeX mode. It makes much more sense for this kind of form factor and would be a great gateway for full-fledged Desktop apps on the Galaxy Tab line. Plus, as Apple demonstrated the full-fledged macOS Big Sur running on their 2 years old A12Z Bionic chipset from their iPad Pro line during their WWDC 2020 keynote, Linux on DeX will certainly be required to compete with that level of versatility.
    - Add a second USB C port or full-sized USB A port for USB accessories while charging.
    - Add a 3.5mm headphone jack for use while in flights or while our wireless headphones are charging.
    - Make the keyboard cover accessory backlit and add angular typing like the Surface Pro line.
    - Equip it with 16GB of RAM
If they implement all of the above, it'll be the first Android tablet I'll ever purchase. Will proudly replace my Surface Pro with it. My once in a blue-moon need for Windows applications will be perfectly served by my QNAP NAS. That need will only be shrinking as devs make their Android apps big-screen friendly, and port over their full-fledged Windows apps; literally NOTHING Windows can do, can't be replicated, and possibly made even more versatile on Android. Until then, sticking with my Surface Pro 2.

I remember when I used to lust over the 12 inch Wacom Cintiq, I think it was like $1.2/£1k. Then eventually I bought a Samsung tablet PC in 2012 for £1k. It was okay, functional but not great. Then in 2014 I got the Wacom Cintiq 13HD for £580, I thought it was steal considering these things were £1k 5 years ago. I use clip studio paint and the only major complaint that I have with the tablet is the fact that it tends to go through a lot of battery. The battery life is pretty alright but that app in particular will really put a strain on the tablet. I've noticed is that palm rejection needs a bit of work. I'd draw for a good hour and throughout that time, I'd have to erase little markings from palm. The pinch motion to resize the canvas also has a fairly noticeable delay, about a second or two and thats with all other apps not running. Overall I'd say if you have the money to spend, get the tab s7+. Their are still some quirks that need to be ironed out but I'm sure Samsung will have these issues resolved in the coming months, especially given how much they want to push the tab brand.

Can u do a video covering every iPad that works with apple pencil? I'm on a really tight budget but need an ipad compatible with apple pencil and procreate to do digital art on the go. So I'm talking a comparison between:
    iPad (6th, 7th, and 8th generation)
    iPad Air (3rd generation)
    iPad mini (5th generation)
    iPad Pro 12.9-inch (1st and 2nd generation)
    iPad Pro 10.5-inch
    iPad Pro 9.7-inch

Got the Tab S7 for $300 with their samsung student week and a credit card bonus. It is an amazing device, but it is so big. I play with the iPad pro at work so I thought this wouldn't be that big, but damn. Love the S-pen, the screen is amazing, and even though I prefer ios, good value for my graduation gift to myself.

I'm telling you. You CANNOT Sleep on the Tab S4. It completely crushes the Tab S6 Lite in every way except Software Updates. And it does more than well on A10. I have both the S4 and S6 Lite and I far prefer to use the S4 every single time.

An Android drawing tablet like that is not just more portable than a desktop tablet, but you also get touch support. Pan and zoom with multi-touch. None of the cheaper desktop pen screen tablets offer that. The ones that do (Cintiq Touch, MS Surface) cost thousands.

You have to realize that it's probably $250 USD, which is around $350 CAD, so at $400 you're not that far off.

Nice video!👍🏾 What app are you using @9:51? I recently purchased the Tab S7+. I want to get back into drawing as a hobby, but I have no idea which app to choose as my goto app. I would like to get into your style of art. Years ago, I mainly drew with pencil so drawing digitally will be an interesting challenge.

Tab S4 is also out there...300dpi A3 size works fine on artflow studio with 23-24 layers...By the way clip studio paint is the most stable app right now for creating big size canvases...

PERFECT TIMING! Thanks for sharing this info. I am in the market for a new digital device after recently discovering the S Pen with the Note 20 Ultra, but it's a strain to draw on for long periods.
I was divided between the Tab S7+ and the Notebook Flex. Decided on the Flex, but won't be able to swing the cost until later in 2021. The Tab S6 Lite is the perfect affordable holdover for my situation and will make it much easier to stay productive until I can grab the Flex.
