I was going to buy an Arturia MicroFreak but then I saw the device on Amazon and looked at this video and my mind was just blown! It‘s crazy how fat this thing sounds. Most of the stuff I have is digital and I heard this one is too but the sound, man, it‘s just crazy.
_Streichfett_ translatet is: _spreadable fat_ or _Butter or Margarine._ Because _string instrument_ is in German a _Streich-Instrument_ - so it's a pun of string and "sounds fat". :-)
I've had a Streichfett for over 3 years, and it is still one of my go-to synths. I incorporate it in many of my tracks. The sound is delicious and it really has amazing capabilities.
Got it several years now. Basically it's a wavetable synth and can be programmed as one. The sound is very good and true to the original string machines although it's a bit digital sometimes. But it doesn't bother me. It's a great little box with more options than meets the eye :)
i love this lil mashine so much!!! it goes under my top 5 fav gear of all time. i also listen to the new stcv which is amazing as well. to me a streichfett with a vocoder. i alwyas loved waldorf. i wisch i didn't sell my microwave 1 & 2 back in the 90's. if i knew 2018 im gonna satrt making music again, i would never ever sell them. my new dream is their new kyra which is an unbelievable synth.... i know im gonna buy it one day. much love and support to waldorf music from munich/germany
Streichfett also means margarine. It's a pun. Spreadable fat, easy to use. But in context it has the connotation of string (stroke) instruments. Doesn't really say "fat strings" though.
I ran across this unit by accident and it lead me to your review. I like the idea of a dedicated synth with integrated effects that support making "strings"!
i dont think so. the stcv is a streichfett with a vocoder added. looks beautiful. very very solid build, like everything waldorf does. go and listen to kyra. it will blow your brain away!!!!!!
Weird that it isn't mentioned it can receive two channels of MIDI at once, so you can sequence two parts, one per side, and use the blend knob to mix.
A Korg spokesman playing a Waldorf synth with an Arturia keyboard... All good!

I had a Streichfett. Sold it. Regret the decision and bought one again. Now I´m happy with it.

I agree. Thank you for pointing this out.

I find this is a perfect accompaniment to My Moog Sub 37. I use it with a Donner Looper pedal and have a good, fun, ambient jam experience!!
Epic reverb on this thing !
Yes it's great.

Nice!, but should have an built in sequencer or arpeggiator
Great Video
Amazing sounds! I love it!! Have a giveaway contest, I WANT ONE!!
How do you feel about this compared to
The STVC?
Great, thanks!
I'm getting one!
Do the white keyboard come with it
Still want one for pads/strings. After my blofeld has bricked on me twice. Waldorf is a good company but there quality has gone down way down
if only it had a sequencer like the roland boutique series, still a great sound
Have a blofeld, which i love, but would like to have a go on one of these.
go and get yourself one. you will LOVE it. promise you that!!!!
what is the midi out for?
Will STVC have a rack/module version?

That reverb.. :o
WHAT IS THE NEUROLOGICAL DISORDER CALLED THAT CAUSES YOUR WHOLE BODY TO CONVULSE WHENEVER WORDS ARE COMING OUT OF YOUR MOUTH?
hummm korg is using your social media....great!!
want.
I’m hearing resident evil 2
Some one likes marked ESP cards... mentalist?
Streichfett translates as "spread fat", as in "cheesy spread". Nothing to do with strings.
The more i see synths the more im totally underwhelmed, i like musuc
It sounds terrible
You talk too much brah!
