Didn’t know that stuff that Emile mentions about Sonic X. When I watched it for the first time, I thought was a lot better than how some were describing it (have yet to see the rest of the finale season of the series apart from the end) I remember one of my favourite episodes is sonic just helping a little girl in a wheelchair go to some area that she hasn’t been able to get to, while sonic is being chased by the government. Man not knowing the context makes it sound like such an odd one XD
I’m STILL mad Shadow never got to meet Helen. She had more than a few similarities to Maria and it just feels like there were plans to have her meet him at some point.
That episode with Sonic and Helen is my personal favorite. Not just because of their friendship together but because I always think Helen would have been a better main protagonist than Chris. She’s more relatable because she’s on a wheelchair and just wants to spend time with her father who works too much to give her the best doctors and help for her condition. She’s the opposite of Chris who’s a rich kid and has literally everything like parents who love him, an awesome grandfather and friends at school. And the worst thing is that the show creators are clearly trying to tell us he’s lonely all the time but the show never shows it. Also, I agree that it made logical sense to have Shadow and Helen meet because she has similarities with Maria which would have made for an interesting dynamic between the two. That’s another reason why she would have been a better protagonist than Chris.
All I can think about now is the idea of a Kirby anime… wait a minute. (Either that or Kirby looking like a anime girl, internet has already showed me some weird Kirby sh- already) also that sound Emile makes that the end XD
You just reminded me of something. In 2012, there was this little anime called World War Blue which is based on the manga of the same name. It is inspired by the console wars and it’s about a war between the Segua Kingdom (Sega) and the Ninteldo Empire (Nintendo) and every character is based on certain video games and characters . I’m not kidding, the main character is called Gear and is inspired by Sonic the Hedgehog and in the last episode, he is literally nicknamed Blue Sonic. The reason I bring this up is because there is a character in the Ninteldo Empire who is based on Kirby and she looks like this cute anime girl with pink hair, star-shaped earrings and a hammer. Look it up on Google, it’s a real thing.
Guess since i didnt get the chance to last episode, as has been noted, the 9 post launch dream friends from earlier games have sections based off rooms from their home games. If anyones curious they are: Animal Buddies- Grass Land Stage 1, Red Canyon Stage 1, and Dark Castle Stages 1/7 Marx- Green Greens, Peanut Plains, Halfmoon Gooey- Grass Land Stage 1, Sand Canyon Stage 1, Iceberg Stage 5/6 Adeline/Ribbon- Pop Star Stage 1, Rock Star Stage 2, Shiver Star's Factory Tour DMK- Rainbow Route/Moonlight Manor, Carrot Castle, Candy Constellation Daroach- Prism Plains Stage 1, Vocal Volcano Stage 1, Gamble Galaxy Stages 1-4 Magolor- Cookie Country Stage 1, Nutty Noon Stage 5/Raisin Ruins Stage 4, Dangerous Dinner Stage 2/3 and Egg Engines Stage 5 Taranza- Fine Fields Stage 1/3/4, Endless Explosions Stage 1, Royal Road Stage 1/5 Susie- Patched Plains Stage 1/2, Resolution Road Stage 3/Access Arc Stage 3, Access Arc Stage 5 Also on the subject on Dream Friends, apparently Drawcia, Primce Fluff, and Elline were planned to join the roster but were cut to focus on mainline games only. Alongside this, recent games have shown the Dream Friend title wont just be limited to Star Allies, as Elfilin from Forgotten Land seems to be an honorary one
I believe the other criticism people had with Star Allies was that this was the fourth game in a 2.5D style that started with Return to Dream Land, and it was suffering a bit of NSMB syndrome; people were getting fatigued. It being a bit on the easy side probably didn't help, and I think that was a product of the friend-making system as level design can't be too chaotic and needs to work for whatever party composition you may have.
Yeah basically, its the fourth game in a short time but its gimmick actively hurts it. In the other games its focused around singleplayer, even if in Return you can do 4 player the game is still focused on a single player experience. But this one is purely focused on 4 player at all times. There is hardly any reason to remove the CPUs as it's going to require them soon enough anyways. Because of this the levels are more open and wide to accomondate all the characters, making them feel simple and barren at times. But the game also slowed everyone WAY down (though the DLC characters are noticeably faster on average because they can fly, so that helps) Kirby is the slowest he has ever been and his floating is abyssmal, making him worse than every other character (except Dedede since he also floats). Going back to the other Kirby games is so refreshing because you feel like Sonic in comparison. There are also way too many levels with some sort of autoscroller style gimmick (every ice level is 1 for instance) or mini-boss rush levels (at least 3 fully dedicated ones!). This may be why Another Dimension is so good because its so focused and hardly needs more than 1 CPU at a time, so the level design feels better. And its mini-bosses feel spread out and uniquely done. And you hardly play as Kirby in areas that require lots of running and vertical movement, so his sluggishness is not as noticeable as well!
8:50 it’s funny that you almost did this accidentally. Making that block fall on Gordo is like one of the few times in the entire series that a Gordo can be killed. Unless that was a thing in an earlier patch that’s been removed.
Emile, one time in school a kid asked if I was frigid (which for the unaware meant virgin, never kissed, no interest in doing stuff with another person), I thought it was just a different word for a fridge, so confused why the person asked if I was a fridge I said "No? But we have one in our kitchen?" which since then people have told me was unintentionally a very cool way to play it off Which, quite weirdly as an aside, although I am more "experienced" now you could use that term to label me as I do in fact have little to no interest in that stuff! So they called me out on it before I was aware of it myself haha
Like I mentioned last part, there are no new rooms in Level 2, even for the Mage Sisters, but there is other stuff to talk about. For example, secret rooms. The secret room shown off in the lava area in this part was actually in the game at launch, however the secret room in Clash at Castle Dedede shown off in the last part, the secret area in the snow area as a part of Echo’s Edge shown off in this part, and a secret room in Planet Earthfall, the autumn level in the last world, that’s yet to be seen were added in Version 3.0.0 and another secret room was added in Version 4.0.0 in Planet Caverna, the underground level in the last world. The Attack, Health, and Speed Multipliers are as follows: 0 hearts for each: 1x Attack, 0.8x Health, 1x Speed 1 heart: 1.8x Attack, 1x Health, 1.2x Speed 2 hearts: 2.2x Attack, 1.2x Health, 1.3x Speed 3 Hearts: 2.5x Attack, 1.3x Health, 1.4x Speed 4 Hearts: 2.7x Attack, 1.4x Health, 1.45x Speed 5 Hearts: 3x Attack, 1.5x Health, 1.5x Speed Chef Kawasaki is kinda neat as we finally get a full moveset for Cook, but his main draw is as a healer and even then I found the other healers, Painter/Vividria and Adeline and Ribbon, to be more helpful, especially when controlled by a Computer player. Kawasaki can give more healing with enough enemies and stars on screen, but the others are more consistent and also fully follow your commands if they’re controlled by the AI, where Kawasaki uses Cook on his own, which isn’t great for Ultimate Choice runs.
The healer characters in general are amazing for Star Allies. Almost wish you could ditch Kirby in the arena so you could have more control, but painter works well enough for player controlled healing
If I had to _guess_ why Paper Mario 1 calculates things out of 101 and not 100, maybe their random probability functions roll a number between 0 and 100, inclusive of the edge cases? That's a set of 101. I'm a bit far removed from programming, but it's the best guess I have.
Yeah; PM64 uses an RNG function that returns things in the range [0 ... N] rather than the standard [0 ... N-1], and most of the time the programmers didn't account for the difference.

Chugga: [talking about being confused about the word thespian] Me: [Immediately gets the "Thespian? But I thought you liked guys?" scene from Digimon Hacker's Memory scene in my head]
I never watched that much of the Kirby anime, but one episode I fully know I've fully watched and remember is Dedede's Raw Deal, the one where Dedede has a revolving sushi bar installed in Kawasaki's restaurant to get money, and he later uses it in an attempt to clobber that there Kirby. Memorable! And makes me want sushi even though I've never had sushi.
4:40 I was wondering who that fat cop from Sonic X was that shares a VA with Kawasaki. Turns out Emile meant to say that Kawasaki shares a 4kids VA with the Sonic X President
Regarding Emile's story, it's possible to be a thespian and a lesbian at the same time. Many people are. :D That moan at the end though. I bet Jon had a weird look on his face when he heard that.
Real trace memories of the Kirby anime since I only remember his Copy Abilities before learning it's another video game series. But hey, Copy Abilities are the bread and butter of a Kirby game, after all. Also, looks like Emile finally let up on the VA coincidences with our Three Mage Sisters. Let him have his fun.
To refer back to when Chugga mentioned about tasting more of the wood than the ice cream on one of those ice creams that are sold in corner stores/bodegas, those kids who had those in their childhood are prob the same people that like charcoal cooked with their steak
Chef Kawasaki is easily my favorite normal enemy to play as. Giving extra moves to a nuke move is such a cool idea because you rarely use the nuke attacks for anything other than a miniboss. They did something similar in Planet Robobot with Mike and the upgrade they gave Crash in Forgetten Land is pretty cool too
A big thing as well with the opinions of this game shifting is definitely the added DLCs. At base I really don't know if I could recommend the game but now as it is with all the free add-ons I really feel like I would've enjoyed this game much more than I did when I played day 1 and beat 100% of the content.
Fun fact: The Three Mage-Sisters are actually sisters in terms of a *sisterhood*. The three were once ordinary girls that had no relation to each other, but they were all saved by Hyness (Their boss splash screens tell this, can't remember which ones). They are not blood-related. More fun facts to come for the next stages of this mode. Yes, I do like this game, why do you ask?
The SECOND, that Emile said "Giration", my mind went "THE VERNATION GIRATION"... TRG and Party Crashers could make a Crossover Episode, i would love it a lot.
Yeah, they sound pretty bad to me. Those kind of fear inducing pranks can cause long term problems, not to mention the immediate fear and panic some of the kids must feel.
Since we’re on the topic of video game anime, I want to talk about this weird one from 2012 that most people don’t know about called World War Blue. It’s an adaptation of a manga of the same name which is a parody of the console wars. There is a war between the Segua Kingdom (Sega) and the Ninteldo Empire (Nintendo) and every character in the series is based on certain video games and characters. For example, the main character is a boy from the Segua Kingdom called Gear who is based on Sonic the Hedgehog and his main attribute is his speed (duh). In the final episode, he is literally called Blue Sonic by everyone else. I think the Ninteldo Empire are supposed to be the villains in this series with their members being based on Mario, Link, Kirby, etc. For those curious, look for images on Google, it’s a real thing, I’m not kidding. By the way, this World War Blue anime only had 3 episodes in total.
Jon is right, max attack is 3x, max health and speed are 1.5x. Starting stats are normal for attack and speed, .8x for health. Edit: don’t worry, this is math I don’t care about so I’m not over your shoulder that much
12:02 sigh, difficulty isn’t what always makes a game fun, I mean Kirby isn’t dark souls (heck they even made heroes in another dimension just because people kept complaining things are “Too Easy”) plus they give you options for harder challenges if you’re up to it, but I feel like the “It’s Too Easy” is a plague that infects games just vibing and turns them into Un-fun messes sometimes because people keep complaining about it (especially on franchises not catered for extreme difficulty like hallow knight) so I don’t know man… can we just enjoy Kirby being cute? …I guess he does slay gods… you can add the challenge there.
I mean, a Super Mario Bros. Wonder LP has been unofficially confirmed (Jon's mentioned it a few times on his streams), so is it really all that surprising that they have a P4? (I forget whether who P4 is has been mentioned or not.)
I think this episode is the most I've sighed in a LONG time because of Emile's word choice just HOOOOO BOY MAN. But yeah this game definitely suffered more because playing it singleplayer was probably a more common experience than the intended multiplayer one. One day Nintendo will learn that if you want something to be a multiplayer experience giving it online is a good idea whether its Wonder's weirdness or just full blown 3D World chaos.
Dont know if comments have brought it up yet but when the Mage Sisters are referred to as sisters, its more meant to be in the religious sisterhood sense than the familial. This is backed up by pause screen lore that trg have yet to find as well as implications about the relationship between Francisca and Flamberge
My personal issue with this game is that, along with being WAY easier than other Kirby games, the level design really felt lackluster and boring until the final world of story mode. The magic in Kirby level design usually picks up with some incredibly unique levels by most world 3s. With the scale of this game, its a HUGE let down by comparison. Kind of just doesn't look very fun when other Kirby games offer more with their experience. Thankfully, this game has more than its story mode and I will comment that I did enjoy the other dimension DLC through watching it. I'm saving my final thoughts after seeing everything the game has. Right now I think it's earned okay at best, though. And shame on people who shame people for their opinions, that's super self righteous and rude to do.
litterly last year I finished the end of the 2nd and the full 3rd season if sonic x because either never saw all of it I binged it years ago bust stopped before the sonic battle adaptation
that 101 thing for paper mario is really funny to me because it could either mean that the n64's architecture is weird or it's just really poorly coded lmao. like, doing it from 1 to 101 only makes sense if you can't use "1" as an actual integer but the fact that it was mentioned that no other games chugga has seen have calculated chance that way, i doubt that's the fault of the n64. (and the n64 apparently has some odd architecture from what i hear)
I don't think it's impossible to not get max stats in every stage with every character. Yeah, they remove puzzle rooms they can't complete, but it should still be possible. I'm currently doing the madman thing of trying to beat every character with this mode, and so far, I haven't had any problems getting max stats with any of them. I mean, maybe with a character I haven't completed this with yet? I'll update if I find anything. That might take a while, though...
I actually didn't know the last season of sonicX came out overseas before JP huh neat but I heard rumors that the next season was supposed to have like a fan created character as the next villian? I can't remember his name but he was supposed to be like a fusion of sonic and shadow?
Wait, there's now an uncut version of Sonic X? Wonder what other previously dubbed by 4Kids anime has gotten similar uncut releases (Also small side note-Sonic's Japanese VA is also an English teacher, little fun fact there.)
googles it cause bored * uh not exactly actually the final 26 episodes of sonic x initially weren't available on japanese tv and only available through rental services this changed however as a tie in for the sonic the hedgehog movie
Sonic X was a victim of 4Kids being 4Kids - cutting scenes and dialogue, editing stuff left-right-and-centre, inserting cheesy dad jokes where they really don't belong, replacing the soundtrack so that any slower or more quiet moments are filled with high-energy, upbeat action music and loud sound effects at all times, and above all, questionable direction for the voice actors. If you compare the 4Kids VAs with their performances in Shadow the Hedgehog, there's a clear difference in the quality; they perform so much better in the games than in X. If you can, you should watch the Japanese version, the acting and soundtrack make a BIG difference alone, but it also includes all the cut scenes that add so much to the characters (especially Chris). Trouble is the Japanese version is hard to find. I really hope Sega realises there's an audiance for it and releases a full boxset, what with how much energy they've been putting into the franchise lately, but from what I've heard they really don't care much for X.
10:38 I know Jon said "guys" but that had strong "Bart no!" "What?" "Sorry, force of habit" vibes
I find it funny that Chugga knows Kawasaki's voice actor as some random cop and not as their most famous role as MEOWTH!

Also Eggman turning into a bar of soap and getting his base raided by nato .
Wtf that so random and funny 😂@@bossbeartherock6034
@@juanluismendoza8655 agreed. Helen would have been better
All I can think about now is the idea of a Kirby anime… wait a minute. (Either that or Kirby looking like a anime girl, internet has already showed me some weird Kirby sh- already) also that sound Emile makes that the end XD
Wonder what a New anime of Kirby could be like…
*Kirby: Right Back At Ya! Has Entered The Chat.*
If it makes you feel any better, Emile, Digimon Cyber Sleuth makes the Thespian/Lesbian joke
16:31 Deja vu anyone?
Pffft the ending. I saw the title and was like: oh goody! Was not disappointed XD
Guess since i didnt get the chance to last episode, as has been noted, the 9 post launch dream friends from earlier games have sections based off rooms from their home games. If anyones curious they are:
Animal Buddies- Grass Land Stage 1, Red Canyon Stage 1, and Dark Castle Stages 1/7
Marx- Green Greens, Peanut Plains, Halfmoon
Gooey- Grass Land Stage 1, Sand Canyon Stage 1, Iceberg Stage 5/6
Adeline/Ribbon- Pop Star Stage 1, Rock Star Stage 2, Shiver Star's Factory Tour
DMK- Rainbow Route/Moonlight Manor, Carrot Castle, Candy Constellation
Daroach- Prism Plains Stage 1, Vocal Volcano Stage 1, Gamble Galaxy Stages 1-4
Magolor- Cookie Country Stage 1, Nutty Noon Stage 5/Raisin Ruins Stage 4, Dangerous Dinner Stage 2/3 and Egg Engines Stage 5
Taranza- Fine Fields Stage 1/3/4, Endless Explosions Stage 1, Royal Road Stage 1/5
Susie- Patched Plains Stage 1/2, Resolution Road Stage 3/Access Arc Stage 3, Access Arc Stage 5
Also on the subject on Dream Friends, apparently Drawcia, Primce Fluff, and Elline were planned to join the roster but were cut to focus on mainline games only.
Ah the return of the nya~, always nice when it pops back up XD
8:50 it’s funny that you almost did this accidentally. Making that block fall on Gordo is like one of the few times in the entire series that a Gordo can be killed. Unless that was a thing in an earlier patch that’s been removed.
Now if Emile were female, he'd be able to sound like an anime boy.
Oh boy, based on that title it looks like *an-Emile* will make an appearance.
Emile, one time in school a kid asked if I was frigid (which for the unaware meant virgin, never kissed, no interest in doing stuff with another person), I thought it was just a different word for a fridge, so confused why the person asked if I was a fridge I said "No? But we have one in our kitchen?" which since then people have told me was unintentionally a very cool way to play it off
Which, quite weirdly as an aside, although I am more "experienced" now you could use that term to label me as I do in fact have little to no interest in that stuff!
The Attack, Health, and Speed Multipliers are as follows:
0 hearts for each: 1x Attack, 0.8x Health, 1x Speed
1 heart: 1.8x Attack, 1x Health, 1.2x Speed
2 hearts: 2.2x Attack, 1.2x Health, 1.3x Speed
3 Hearts: 2.5x Attack, 1.3x Health, 1.4x Speed
4 Hearts: 2.7x Attack, 1.4x Health, 1.45x Speed
5 Hearts: 3x Attack, 1.5x Health, 1.5x Speed
Chef Kawasaki is kinda neat as we finally get a full moveset for Cook, but his main draw is as a healer and even then I found the other healers, Painter/Vividria and Adeline and Ribbon, to be more helpful, especially when controlled by a Computer player.
I ain't blushing at the end there from Chugga's sounds you are
This game is amazing. A true celebration of Kirby
Funny thing about the third season of Sonic X, it didn't actually come out in Japan until 2020.
It's an off-by-one error; one of the most common errors in programming to the point that it's honestly shocking to me that more games _didn't_ do it.
@@jdaster64Didn’t expect to see you here.
During the Mario 3D World LP aeons ago, there was a very similar joke made about an anime girl being in between Emile's bones. History repeats itself.

"Gotta get the anime girls out from between mah bones!"
I don't remember when Emile said this in a recording originally, but he's sure said it!
Super mario 3d world collab
Regarding Emile's story, it's possible to be a thespian and a lesbian at the same time. Many people are. :D
That moan at the end though.
6:49 Talk about getting sidetracked…
9:01 Yep. Knew they’d come back to it.
13:24 Emile I heard that WTF dude their sisters
The ice cream cups with the wooden spoon? Maola? Not heard of that in a while. That’s quite the blast from the past.
I feel like in 0:52 - 1:32 the magolor side game made a call back to this part in one of the levels
It's the pause descriptions for the fights exclusive to this guest star route/true arena+

Chugga is right about that ice cream.
At first when they said feeding 4 my brain went to guest, but then forgot it may also be lucah?
That... was an ending of an episode...
Not chompin down on the wood.
15:25 is anyone going to mention the fact that throughout the episode Emile talks about feeding FOUR people? Is there a guest on the horizon?
I mean, a Super Mario Bros. Wonder LP has been unofficially confirmed (Jon's mentioned it a few times on his streams), so is it really all that surprising that they have a P4? (I forget whether who P4 is has been mentioned or not.)

13:40 is that actually how Jon and Chugga met? Because I'd believe it...
Lmao at the end of the vid i just did a bit of a stretch and some ‘anime girl noise’ came out, then emile did the same

Emile… please never change you poor innocent child… 😅😅😅😅!
I mean, Tim’s response didn’t make things better…
And shame on people who shame people for their opinions, that's super self righteous and rude to do.

that 101 thing for paper mario is really funny to me because it could either mean that the n64's architecture is weird or it's just really poorly coded lmao. like, doing it from 1 to 101 only makes sense if you can't use "1" as an actual integer but the fact that it was mentioned that no other games chugga has seen have calculated chance that way, i doubt that's the fault of the n64.
Poyo!
Wonder what other previously dubbed by 4Kids anime has gotten similar uncut releases
(Also small side note-Sonic's Japanese VA is also an English teacher, little fun fact there.)
Oh right, you guys are gonna be at MAGFest again. Say hi to SirMeowMusic, a'ight?
I'd encourage Emile to watch Japanese Sonic X. It's such a different experience in many episodes...especially the intense one.
Turtle gyration
16:30 Wut? 😂😂😂
googles it cause bored * uh not exactly actually the final 26 episodes of sonic x initially weren't available on japanese tv and only available through rental services this changed however as a tie in for the sonic the hedgehog movie
Why to go Emile!
Oh god Emile what was the freaking noise you just made?! 😰.
Appropriate title, clearly
Who is the fourth person Emile is feeding?
Im not even a sonic fan, but I personally really liked sonic x I recently rewatched the whole series I think it's still pretty good
