THANK YOU for defending this movie to an extent....even though I was just a kid, I enjoyed it, but never watched any of hogans movies after....no holds barred and suburban commando are all I ever cared for from him

You're right about that one. I always thought that this flick somehow *does* feel like a feature length sitcom pilot. Sort of like the "Harry and the Hendersons" of the 90's.

Chuck House It was a movie first, which is the point I think the other guy was making.
I saw this when I was kid, and loved it. Terry's not the best actor, but he's got lots of atheltic prow-sess, and charisma. Lots of wrestlers been in movies, but when I was kid, I wanted to see WARRIOR in a movie! "THIS MOVIE..HAS HE POWER OF THE QUASAR IN IT'S BLOOD..HOAK HOGAN! AND THE WARRIORS FROM THE HEAVENS CAME TO MEEEE..AND SAID..."

Suburban Commando is an absolute gem, it'll always have a special place with me. I think it's Hulk Hogan's best film, I know that's not hard to do but it's still awesome, just like this video, good tribute, I love your tongue in cheek humour, awesome.
So many years later and still the best thing to say when in an argument with your partner / parents is "I was frozen today! "

It is possible for the wife to rearrange all the heavy furniture by herself in a few hours. Have witnessed this awesome feat of strength and ingenuity myself several times coming home and gawking in amazement at the results. Totally feasible.

I haven't seen most of Hulk Hogan's movies but I love this one and No Holds Barred.
I don’t even have to watch this more than once a year I still know pretty much every line in the movie by heart… I will never not love this movie I loved it when I was a little kid and I love it now just in a different way. Now it’s not as bad ass as it was then but it tries so hard to be and it makes me smile and laugh so brownie points.
love the 90s so much, but as much as I love the 90s. I have to say I love the 80s more. the great thing about the 90s is you have the 90s and you still have all the 80s stuff that wasn't that far off

I've never watched wrestling, I barely knew anything about Hulk Hogan, but somehow, now, I really want to watch this movie.
I actually like that they used Shelly Duval as the wife, the nerdy guy with a hot wife is too damned cliche she's just a plain looking woman with an average husband.
As for Hulk Hogans' acting 3 words baby THUNDER IN PARADISE I fucking LOVED that show

This was originally meant for Devito and Arnold to be a buddy action film but they did Twins instead and New Line optioned the rights to it. That would have been interesting, I doubt it would have had the space overtones, rather just military ones with Arnold.
This is prob my favorite Hogan film, loved it since I was a kid. It's far from perfect but very enjoyable to watch, way better than most of his other stuff.

@csandreas I wanted to give the Rock the benefit of the doubt so I checked it out. Wow, I was so wrong, the Tooth Fairy is embarrassingly bad. Thankfully he isn't under Disney contract anymore and seems to be back to making entertaining movies.
you watched this twice in 1 day. well those were the days when movies were more appreciated I think. VHS still cost a bunch of money when they were first released. Batman was the 1st movie I remember costing only 20 bucks when it was 1st released and that was special because I remember VHS costing 70 bucks when they 1st came out. When we rented a movie we watched over again back then. Back in 88 when willow 1st came out we watched movies over and over again if we liked it at all

This is a good film, in the sense that it accomplishes everything it set out to do. It is a silly flick with a popular wrestler. It is not about story, it is about fans of the Hulkster watching their favourite wrestler in a series of episodes that play upon his real-life persona. It was never meant to contain great lines or sophisticated humour. The low budget is not an issue here, because it's not about special effects or high production values. And the stuff borrowed from other films is intended as very deliberate parody. Again, it works on the most superficial level, but that's what Hulk Hogan's media persona is. At the end of the day, you pay to see Hulk do similar stuff to what he does in his wrestling promos, or be placed in situations where he doesn't fit in, so that the humour stems from him being a fish out of water. It's all shallow and cheap, but that's hulk Hogan for you.
Fact: The little girl whose cat got stuck in a tree was played by Golden Globe winner and Emmy nominee Elisabeth Moss.
