    Amos is such a tight and rhythmic bassist, absolutely love these walkthroughs he does and the different ways he uses each pedal

    I love how you set the pedal from scratch for every example... it's a kind of tutorial about how to get the desired results from this pedal. Other reviews just show a snapshot of the pedals settings and that's all. This is how it just be done. Thanks and greetings from Spain.

    Thank you for making video that uses more traditional lines and an actual breakdown of how this pedal does what it does...also kudos on not just slamming it after a dingwall and saying "tone"

      As a big fan of Dingwall I still second this. It’s great to see the versatility of this pedal in other contexts that I could totally encounter on a gig.

    • @AmosHeller
      @AmosHeller 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I think we all recognize the power of DG x Dingwall! It’s a “thing” for a reason. But there’s a lot more on offer with the pedals that Darkglass makes. I feel like they can get more “extreme” than other pedals but that is not all they can do.

    Excellent demo and review of the X7 pedal. Sounds amazing in metal, but also just as good for adding a little drive to any bass in many songs. I recorded a few on my channel without heavy drive. This demo helped me find the sweet spot on this pedal. Keep up the great work! Cheers!

    I came to hear the demo but stayed for that gorgeous bass. The white pickups fit so gooooood!
    I saw Amos saying in the comments that it's an Elite model, but the headstock is matching the body color, which is not something that I saw other Elite models have.
    Anyways it gave me big GAS and if I get a jazz bass I'm going to 100% make the same color/pickguard/pickups choice :D

    Great demo, Amos. I see a lot of metal guys use this pedal for absurd guitar-like distortion, and that's great and all, but there's so much more going on here. I use this pedal for just about everything, and I find that that setting the distortion conservatively actually feels amazing when I'm jamming death metal riffs with 2 guitarists and a drummer.

    As an audio engineer/mixer of all my own music, the options on this pedal give me the control for a live performance to get sounds that otherwise took hours of running dual channels in the studio... and having the parallel output lets me still run my synthy/heavily modulated sounds.. Darkglass is pure brilliance!

    I really like the concept of this pedal but the distortion on the high end is too harsh and modern for my taste. In the demo, I liked more the tones where the level of the high end side is minimal or totally close. I wish Darkglass would build a similar pedal but with the distortion character of the vintage microtubes. I saw however, that the wish granting is currently unavailable. 😁

    Modern bass tones are just too thin and trebly for my taste. I always want to like these demos, and its a good demo, but I always think modern bass OD/distortion pedals make the bass sound the same.

      @@AmosHeller Very true. Perhaps it just so happens that I, personally, don't like the tones dialed in this demo. That's not to say that others should share my opinion, or that the pedal isn't capable of sounding good.
