Haha I was there that day and had the same reaction to the Miata watching it fly down the main straight. The acceleration on that thing was mental to see from the sidelines! From what I remember talking to the owner and seeing it, it's an LS swapped, single seater, full caged and aero'ed out monster with 285 Hoosiers all around. He said it was a fresh build and that was (I think) its first track day. Insane build.
I may be getting a ITS next week as a DD And wet track car. tiger eye pearl!.. was that or white.. but my 1995 prelude was gold.. nostalgia is a MFer.. Your videos have been very helpful, ty
May be just a tad too high of a spring rate in the rear or its a dampening adjustment. The rear seems to get a lil unhappy when you trail brake. But man that car is doing really well! Looks like so much fun! I got rides in NSX and 2000 Type R back when it was called Infineon... the good ole days! Great video and keep em coming!
Brake bias controller and non servo setup incoming.... ;) Great video, so exciting. The conditions (heat) prevented you from nailing that goal that day, but it's clearly there. The car seems to rotate so sweetly now! What is it like on the road though? Surely those springs and all that camber must seriously compromise it? What an amazing save to capture on video from that Cayman driver. And that MX-5....blag a drive in that and video it for us!!!!
so much improvement! front end is much sharper! it really just need a sway bar you need that tail to be pointing out sooner so you can step on the throttle right away. its so much easier to tune a rear sway bar and very inexpensive
I found that a stiffer rear bar helped with some of the mid corner understeer. With the stiffer rear bar, I was able to run -3.5 to -3.8 instead of -4+ which helped with braking (esp T1 and right before the carousel)
A sway bar will fix mid corner understeer, its a great tool to tune steady state cornering front to rear balance. Seems like youve been avoiding a stiffer rear sway bar for some reason?
Don’t go to hard. A sway bar can help or hurt you depending on its stiffness. 10k spring rate for the rear is too stiff for your current setup. Should have went with 9k or run your dampers softer. This is the reason you are feeling the instability in the rear. Remember you want the most optimal grip for all 4 tires. You fighting for stability in the rear will only net you slow times.
Setting up the car looser will help with the mid corner under steer but you’ll have to greatly change your driving style. For FF, loose tends to be fast. Stiffer rear bar may help, also a reverse stagger may help. Lots of options out there. Love what you’re doing with the car. Can’t wait for those ohlins to release so I can get a set for my FL5.
Hey man, can you give me some details on the Endless pads? Is CC40 the same as ME20? Are you ordering the FK8 Civic Type R pads? Can't seem to find a definitive FL5 pad size. I assume the FL5 would be the same as DE5. Also, do you have a recommendation for one notch less aggressive but still decent for the track? Always have trouble properly bedding the DTC60 and DTC 30 combo. End up with uneven deposits and lots of vibrations. I shot you a IM on the Integra Forum as well. Thanks.
What are your target hot tire pressures? I'm taking my RSX to autocross next year, so I've been doing research. Depending on the sidewall stiffness, some are either running mid to high 20's for stiff or mid to high 30's for soft. Also heard raising the rear pressures relative to the front would encourage more oversteer. Thoughts?
