Fun fact: the drummer isn't actually playing in most of the video. They rented a place to shoot and were told the noise wouldn't be a problem but literally after like one take, there were noise complaints, so they had to kind of improvise and the drummer just mimicked playing. That was also where they came up with the sheet covered bodies idea, cuz it was less noisy to just have Courtney lip sync, plus it looked cool af.
I like how her dancing is not what you'd expect in a metal video...I recently got into this band via another band you've begun reacting to Jinjer...Eugene Jinjer's bassist is a fan
they explained the blankets over the band members in an insta live stream, actually. It's because the video shoot in that building got shut down by the cops because of noise complaints, so they had to get creative to get the rest of the shots. That's why you actually don't see much of the drummer in this video too, cause they had to remove the kick and some other stuff to reduce the noise. The magic of editing!
Nice review and I only can agree with you on all points you mentioned, I'm just in love with Spiritbox right now. I can't remember clearly if Spiritbox brought me to your channel or you brought Spiritbox to me, but I'm just thankful Courtney and Mike are still making music and even better than ever, imho ♥
Great video! Spiritbox is one of my favorite bands if not my favorite right now. I'd recommend Trust Fall by them as well. It's one of their more unique songs imo.
I’m usually not a fan of metal core bands due the the style of harsh and clean vocals, but I did not mind her vocals at all. Not the typical metal core sound.
That breakdown is fucking incinerating when she unleashes those vocals. Holy fuck she makes a lot of current metal vocalists sound like wimps compared to her. And then she can transition back to clean vocals and it sounds angelic.
Hell yes, I'm always happy to see Spiritbox in my sub feed. I'd love to see you react to Oneiroi by Shades of Black. He's a one man instrumental artist and I'm not even sure what genre I'd classify him as (Egytpcore maybe?). He has a really unique style of writing his riffs and I've never seen any reactions to him, which is a shame because he's honestly one of the best instrumental artists I've ever heard. (Honestly even if you just check it out on your own time I'd be happy, I just want more people to know about him). I also have to say your bird brings the biggest smile to my face every intro . Keep up the great work!
Okay just listened... what a BEAST of a track, holy crap. What a talented musician holy shit. It's too bad he's not getting enough traction. I'd love to react to it but I'm trying to grow my channel first. In the future when I have more subscribers I hope to react/review smaller bands.
@@METALBIRB Totally understandable, like I said I just want more people to know about him, guy deserves so much recognition. Glad you enjoyed it, he has at least two full albums (that I've heard) and another on the way. I believe his two latest singles are free on Bandcamp.
The stretched out EVP in the soundscape is chilling. My only gripe about this reaction, he didn't discuss the lyrics, if he had paid attention to the lyrics, his question about the bodies under sheets would have been answered. Nature is a mortuary.
This was the first vid I saw from these guys. They're fantastic. There's a haunting quality to what they do and there's a strange kind of forceful desperation in her vocals, as well as her mannerisms... yeah, it just works. They don't put out bad songs.
Fuck yeah, love me some Spiritbox! If you're looking for some crazy talented instrumental grooves I'd highly recommend Vostok or Aubade by Tetrachromat, severely underrated PNW band!
It sure is an oldie, But not moldie but real goldie: Twelve Tribes - Muzzle Order. They were sure a Lot ahead of times in their (technical) metal-core sound w/ a oh-so-powerful ("colourful") male vocalist back then in 00´s and never got heh the fame & fortune they would definitely deserve (so broke out because of frustration, understandably)Or if not doing reaction/review, do at least yourself a favour (everyone!), go check them out - that song or for example another their classic Venus Complex. Not to boast out, but take this from someone who knows & been really really long time in the scene (turning already 52 this year, and been listening loving punk hardrcore exxxtreme metal etc since mid ´80s already, so... ;-) Cheers from F-land, Uncl-Vo. :-)
Check out the official video for "Electric Cross" (th-cam.com/video/hKPNy3cXZI0/w-d-xo.html) AND THEN go see Mike Stringer's guitar playthough! It will blow you away, because what you think you hear at the beginning of the song is not what really happens....you will see what I mean! th-cam.com/video/hMLwAsywF1U/w-d-xo.html

Ghost Iris - Vista
This is my favorite Spiritbox song. Seriously gives me chills every time!

wttruax haha wow that’s pretty creative. It kinda adds to the story that was unintentional

She has like the perfect screaming technique
Great video! Spiritbox is one of my favorite bands if not my favorite right now. I'd recommend Trust Fall by them as well. It's one of their more unique songs imo.
React to another song called by them called Beauty Of Suffering.
I second this. Such a sick song
I third that. Fucking 11/10 song.
The Mara Effect is better IMO.
@@Brandon78B fucking love that song too bruh.
The live studio version is epic

Your bird is funny 😆
Bro goosebumps 3 times at that breakdown best thing i ever heard in a long time.
Such a killer song. In for Parkway Drive - Deliver Me(LIVE in London) for the best live performance.
Yooo I love them. React to the mara effect part one by then. That’s there masterpiece.
Really eh?? I might just have to my man
I definitely second this, Perennial, The Mara Effect part 1 and 3 are excellent songs as well
Fully agree with this comment. Mara effect is on a different level. Was blown away by it. All 3 are good but part 3 is a masterpiece.
Have you listened to Greg from DEP’a side project? They’re called The Black Queen, you’d love them.
flawless timing on that "bouncy riff" at 1:32 tho
Their best song dude for sure. This is my all time favorite
Progessive metalcore, the structure is different I agreed with that.some called it Djent

haha damn bro your face when that breakdown hit it's literally the same as me...

Holy crap she makes jinjer sound like Coldplay, that is the most intense song i've heard in ages
not quite
Matriarch by Veil of Maya is one of the best albums I've listened to. Great tastes man
I came here for the metal, i stayed for the birb backing vocals!
New subscriber here, I love Jinjer and this band as well, please react to Perennial, The Mara Effect part 1and 3.. The beauty of suffering
Please react to more spiritbox.
your face at 4:37 dude
Please do their new single Bleach Bath!
Fuck yeah, love me some Spiritbox! If you're looking for some crazy talented instrumental grooves I'd highly recommend Vostok or Aubade by Tetrachromat, severely underrated PNW band!

Cohesive was the word you were probably looking for
You need to have your girlfriend react to this, except react to the live recording of Courtney LaPlante
participação especial pássaro cantando !

Great reaction vids! But the chirping kinda breaks the immersion of the songs :S
I know you're a guitarist correct? Are you in a band now?
I WAS ALIVEEEEE
😘
React to jinjer ape
I dig the music. I dig her cleans. I'm not a fan of her harsh vocals. Just too monotonous. That said, I think it's pretty damn good.
William Duckett well thanks for checking it out and leaving your comment about them my man! Appreciate it
i know this is an older comment, but her screams have definitely gotten better. im sure you’ve heard though.
Super disagree
