As a fan of everything this band has put out, I definitely do not hate this. I like Courtney's harsh vocals as much as her clean vocals.

I thought most Spiritbox fans were here from the beginning and prefer their heavier more complicated stuff. Songs like circle with me are a little basic and middle of the road.

Huge Spiritbox fan here, and this song was refreshing. I personally love everything they've put out, but I've been dying for a heavy ass song like this where Courtney goes harsh vocals the whole way and the band just goes crazy. This was fantastic

The core of the Spiritbox fan base is going to love this song. It hits all the beats that they want, heavy and horror/creepy ambience. In fact I think most fans want more of this. I personally dont care how heavy they get as long as there is that little bit of creepyness and menace to their music. If i want heavy, that is not the "why" Im choosing to listen to Spiritbox. I can just listen to Frozen Soul or Obituary if I want to bang my head. Ambience, heaviness, melody all wrapped up into one package is why I enjoy the band. They are super solid musicians and great people so I'll always go to bat for them.
I also said I didn't like this song just because it is heavy, but also for the design, sound texture and overall construction. I would never like or dislike a band on the basis of being "heavy". I like many bands that are not heavy....
@APREACTS For sure I know you guys don't just like heavy and I really respect you both alot and that you always speak your mind. It's the reason I keep coming back to watch. I'm just mostly talking about what I love about the band and why I keep coming back to them compared to some other modern metal acts. Ultimately it doesn't matter if you guys are ever fans of them or not, the fact your willing to come back and try again is awesome and is a point in your character that makes your channel worth coming back to over and over again. As a big Spiritbox fan, I indeed loved this. It has some of their older vibe (Belacara, The Marra effect). Also I don't like this just because it's heavy(Everyone is calling it holly roller 2.0). The production is fantastic, it was chaotic but still felt controlled. They do atmosphere so well, and the eerie ambiance they created here was awesome, and Courtney's lows are just fantastic.
There are bits where I feel it's missing something. And I can't put my finger on what. To me it just sounds/feels empty.
Sorry dude, their popularity rose from being heavy... Holy Roller, Circle with me, blessed be, belcara... You cant call them hipster purely from their last 5 singles
This is Dark like Belcarra but a little more polished. I think people found this band from either Circle with Me or Holy Roller. They haven't heard songs like Belcarra, Bleach Bath or Electric Cross. I personally, also appreciate that they write the song they want to write. No boundaries. To me, it's all music to my ears.
I don’t agree. I don’t see them as a heavy band. They had songs with bite but they were not heavy. It comes down to what you consider heavy and what bands you normally listen to.

As a longtime Spiritbox fan, I LOVED this. It's the perfect song for them. Their new Holy Roller, but it also captures styles from their first project. A band with this much popularity (some say they may be going pop?) and then they slap us with this? Genius move. Great, great, great song. The f***ing chorus is a breakdown!!!!

Im a fan but i love this song. I'm a metalhead. I love Orbit Culture, Amon Amarth and Lorna Shore relaxes me. I also loved Jaded. I like Courtney's cleans but i love her harsh vocals. This song made me stankface and i love it. 🤘

Spiritbox went viral because of their heavy, creepy and horror vibes. Holy roller is what put them in the spot light. And there are other creepy heavy songs like belcara. They just do heavy really well and it sounds authentic compared to other bands. But they are also great with the clean stuff. Yeah I wish they would do more heavy but those clean songs are great and the fans definitely love the heavy as well. This song was praised by the fan base cause it goes back to their roots. I wouldn't wanna force the band to do heavy all the time but they definitely have secret sauce when they go heavy. It just stands out more than the other stuff. This song proves it cause it went viral like holy roller. Hopefully they go heavier on the next album after this reception.

I really like this song. I do think it needs to be understood in the context of their whole discography, and of the EP, where this song runs straight into the last single Jaded (great song). I think that will really work.
Really I think Spiritbox are going to really make it, and deserve to do so.
I'm a huge fan of Spiritbox and Spiritbox is definitely heavy, Holy Roller, Rule of Nines, Rotoscope. Just because they have clean melodies in their songs they also have huge, heavy riffs.

Big Spiritbox fan here, and to be completely honest I absolutely fucking love this. As many others have stated, it has the spooky, chaotic, uneasy sound that their earlier stuff had, which is a massive plus for me. I like Eternal Blue a lot, but one of my favorite things about their first 2 eps are how unsettling and haunting their atmosphere was, which was definitely missing a bit from EB. This on the other hand, along with Jaded in many ways as well, brings that back stronger than ever and I am so for it.
My reaction to this song will always be two things: 1) Oh right thats the Chorus! Ok 2) Oh crap, here comes the breakdown.
Their older stuff is definitely the best in my opinion and wish they would go back in that direction.
You guys have some extremely disillusioned opinions on SB and their fans. SB fans by and large love their heaviest songs. Also calling literally anything in their catalogue "hipster" is so laughable and misguided

I suppose, yeah they do have a lot of mellow songs, but they grew fame from songs like Holy Roller, and Beauty Of Suffering. They love to blend heavy with mellow. I guarantee people listen to them to get both heavy and mellow. Because I do.

Bro, you can't say Spiritbox is not heavy and this song is a one off, They are doing heavy stuff like that since their beginning just go check Aphids, Beauty Of Suffering, Belcara, Bleach Batch, Holly Roller, Hurt You, Silk In The Strings, Yellow Jackets, Hysteria and its breakdown at the end.
I'm not saying you have to like them or praise them but you definitely can't say this band is not heavy, and fans not gonna like this song because it's "off" their catalogue. Heavyness is part of their catalogue, and Courtney's & Mike's previous band "Iwrestledabearonce" just proves it also.
I mean, loved them since the beginning. Not all their songs but a decent majority. They have some sickeningly heavy songs. Their "softer" songs are also very amazing. Invent Animate jstthe same. I love their softer stuff too.

no this is a return to What Spiritbox started as creepy metal was their scene.. As a fan this ban has excellent range of dynamics. They are not a one trick pony. Courtney fits in most genres

When I first heard Spiritbox, I didn't care for them at all. Completely dismissed them. Then one day I heard some of their stuff, and I connected with it finally. It took me a while, but now Eternal Blue is one of my favourite albums to relax to.
Best Canadian bands though? Woods of Ypres, 3 Inches of Blood, Brand of Sacrifice, Archspire. :)

First time I heard this I was kinda meh.... but the more I heard it the more I liked it. Having heard it 15 times or so now I LOVE it. It is a cross between The Mara Effect and Holy Roller. The outro leads into the next song which will be Jaded.

Canada has some fantastic newer bands these days in Spiritbox, Brand Of Sacrifice and that new super fast and heavy Tech death metal band i forget the name of.

Funny enough all 3 bands you mentioned outside of Spiritbox are also bands we don’t like. Archspire, Beyond Creation and Unleash The Archers are my favourite Canadian bands.

being a fan of every song this band has released i love this song. Spiritbox fans also listen to other bands that are heavy as fuck. We just have a broader sense of great musicianship. Thats the difference. Dont judge fans of a specific band by generalizing them.. Its a very vanilla take
Spirit box fans looooove the heavy stuff.. I listen to heavy shit as well.. this is definitely something far out of there catalog as they expand their sound.. I expect some very heavy songs as well as some more pop influenced metal as they continue to evolve as a band.. you guys are just purists and want heavy.. that’s fine.. and it really speaks to the talent of this band that they can write a song you love.. cheers

As long as you enjoy it that is all that matters, not everybody is going to like everything. To me Spiritbox and Sleep Token are two bands I cannot get into or enjoy for the most part. Obviously a song here and there hit home, like this one.

We honestly don’t care, if we did we would do Spiritbox, Slipknot and whatever else is hot and jerk off to it to please their fan base. Having said that no other channel out there covers as wide of metal sub genres as we do.
Best song by them since the earliest songs. Back to the horror sound, where they actually use the "spiritbox" sound in the background ambience. I also agree, about the poppy hipster stuff, but when this band is on, they are fucking on... Cheers!
They have the potential to be one of my favourite bands I just have never connected with their music or lyrics consistently to really get into it. This song is a certified banger.

Yeah the poppy crap in eternal blue just sucked ass, the best song on it were Holy Roller and Constance! PERIOD! Was pissed cause I spent 10 bucks on the CD and giving them basically a 7-dollar tip for what I thought would be a badass album, DISSAPOINTED I was!
It's just that they went too much of the edge since Eternal Blue being too poppy. The older stuff like Belcarra, Bleach Bath and Holy Roller are an other story, so hopefully they're back to their initial style :p

The issue with Spiritbox in general is... the riffs are pretty bad.
This song sounds interesting in concept and has its moments, especially in the beginning, but ultimately it felt absolutely aimless to me. Maybe I just don't get it. 🤷♀

Tuning the guitars a few octaves lower and screaming a bit doesn't mean it's heavy! This is just boring, standard fare, of which there are so many today. This style of music is so incredibly boring because everything sounds the same. Really everything!
