The storyline could not have continued correctly without Damon, having gone through a major, and we are talking major mental adjustment, which is exactly what everything in Harrenhal did for him. I actually love watching his character grow and adjust and really get in touch with who he is so he can be everything he needs to be for Rhaenyra. So I have to completely disagree with you.
*Whitewashing* *Rhaenyra* I think the writers are biased towards Rhaenyra and only Rhaenyra and made every other character look worse to make her look the most heroic knowing she’s the main character and this is her story from her POV. For instance, remember when Daemon beheaded Vaemond in 1x8? In the book, it was from the order by Rhaenyra to kill him and then she fed his head to Syrax. But we never saw that. Rhaenyra has been whitewashed from the start. Now in the book, it is biased towards the Blacks. George R.R. Martin himself hates the Greens. It’s written as the Blacks being the protagonists and the Greens being the antagonists. But in the show, the writers will make Daemon look worse to make Rhaenyra look better. Rhaenyra has reached a point where if Daemon orders for Blood and Cheese or kills his first wife, he’s a horrible person. If Rhaenyra acts like a spoiled brat in S1, sleeps with Criston and Harwin, lies about her Strong boys, gets an innocent man killed to fake Laenor’s death to marry her uncle, and have a bunch of people killed by Vermithor, she’s awesome and deserves the throne. When Daemon ordered for Blood and Cheese, he specifically said to target AEMOND which is the name Rhaenyra called out. This is the show version. But B&C botched the kill. In the book, Daemon was in Harrenhal but had a message from a raven written “a son for a son”. It’s very vague that an assassin will not understand what he meant. Jaehaerys is not Alicent’s son. Daemon never specifically states one of Helaena’s children in the book or TV. Again, he gets blamed from a botched plan while trying to avenge for Rhaenyra who said she wanted Aemond. B&C’s own mistakes made Daemon look ruthless and completely responsible for it. Not once has Rhaenyra shown great LEADERSHIP who can galvanize an army. She has leaned mostly onto Daemon’s strength. Just because you’re the true heir to the throne doesn’t make you a great leader. We saw this with Dany even before she went mad. Daemon is actually a better LEADER than Rhaenyra but perhaps not a better RULER knowing what an unpredictable wildcard Daemon can be. He used to command the Night Watch and has battlefield experience. He’s better around the smallfolk which will be important later down the line. Daemon doesn’t deal with the sexism that Rhaenyra experiences. Men will rally behind Daemon but not for Rhaenyra. But writers want to turn him into a soy boy to make Rhaenyra look like the true heir. In S1, Alicent was being written as more of a sympathetic character. By S2, she’s written to be just pathetic. Where in the book does it say she’s willing to sell out her two sons to spare her life, Helaena, and Jaehaera? What’s even worse was remember at the end of Ep. 2? She still had sex with Criston after they buried Jaehaerys. Bad security like July 13 but they grieve by having more sex! Aemma never gave Viserys a living male heir. Alicent is willing to have Viserys’ two oldest male heirs killed. Shouldn’t she protect the males after losing her grandson and her son burned to crisp? I actually thought Daemon and Alicent should’ve got less screen time for S2 and they should’ve focused more on other characters we aren’t as familiar as much. Daemon actually didn’t appear much in S1. If you recall, he didn’t have a speaking line at the end of 1x3 when fighting in the Stepstones. And he and Rhaenyra didn’t appear at all in 1x9. I felt DaemonVision’s entire point was to end his lust for the throne but also for Daemon and Alys Rivers to have something to do. Me calling it DaemonVision which is a nod to WandaVision as Wanda was going through therapy herself was a way to introduce us to Alys Rivers or Alys All Along and for her to help Daemon. I just see Alys as another Melisandre but with her clothes on. Does anybody ever recall from Fire & Blood that Daemon and Alys ever interact that way in Harrenhal? I don’t. But when Alys did wake up Daemon before showing him the prophecy he didn’t believe in at first, we see her in tears. It’s like Deadpool & Wolverine, why was Thor crying?? Why was Alys crying? Does she have feelings for Daemon since she already knows his fate? And it seemed Daemon was pretty casual with Alys sitting on the side of his bed. Did they have sex prior to that scene? And if Rhaenyra kissed Mysaria, doesn’t that mean she cheated on Daemon? While Olivia is a tremendous actress, Alicent is generally a useless character in all of this. We saw Corlys mostly next to a dock talking to one of his bastard sons. We saw Alicent having awkward exchanges with Rhaenyra just to have Olivia and Emma share a scene. Then Alicent was having sex, taking baths, putting down Aegon once again, and then betraying him and Aemond later on. I’m reading a theory that Alicent might be pregnant by Criston or Helaena could be pregnant with Maelor, and that’s why Alicent wanted out of there ASAP to hide her or Helaena’s pregnancy. Notice the “Chosen Ones” have shitty lives? Jesus Christ had to be crucified on a cross. Before that, he was whipped and crowned with thorns. Anakin Skywalker would’ve lived happier if Qui-Gon wasn’t a child abductor like Sol. Anakin ended up with a borderline personality disorder and could never fit in any group. And most people who sat on the Iron Throne had shitty lives whether they were good or bad. Wanting the Iron Throne seems more like a curse than a blessing. You should check out Talking Thrones talking about why HOT D only got 8 episodes. Warner Discovery merger has been a disaster, WB is in debt, and David Zaslav tried to save money. Let’s hope they can correct it for S3. HBO must not disappoint us again. Stop playing nice and let Rhaenyra and Alicent start committing evil shit! While HOT D S2 disappointed, it still had it’s moments. People expected too much from the finale which wasn’t supposed to be the finale in the first place. We still got Rook’s Rest. We still got dragons. We still got Simon Strong ready to be memes. It wasn’t all bad. And blame Alys for DaemonVision. But he’s turning out to be a better man from that even though in the book, he was already loyal to Rhaenyra. I replayed Burlington Bar’s reaction to Ep. 4 at least five times because the crowd was so loud and lively. It sounded like a finals to a sporting event. Broke my heart to see Morgan Drase in tears though. I love Rhaenys and Meleys. But the best is still yet to come by 2026 and 2028. The bar is going to shake from all the action sequences and epic scenes in them. Just look at Season 2 as a mulligan. Let’s not give up on the show yet because the S2 finale disappointed. Too many morons overreacting to anything they think sucks. That’s the Internet for ya. Everyone on social media wants to be dramatic. I think S3 is going to be incredible. Starts off with Gullet and then the Fall of KL which were supposed to be Ep. 9 and 10 of S2 but had to be moved for next season. S3 fires out of the gate fast. Let’s just hope HBO doesn’t cut corners again and the production crew gets the proper resources to make it awesome. I know A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is only 6 episodes but it’s better than nothing. It’s actually going to be released the same month as Andor S2 which will have 12 episodes. Only 10 more months from now which should go by fast. Then let’s hope we get Aegon the Conqueror after HOT D ends by 2028. Maybe we get it by 2027 in between HOT D’s S3 and S4 if there is no S2 for Dunk & Egg. I think Robert’s Rebellion is the more interesting story but I want an Aegon the Conqueror series to finally see Balerion. A lot of viewers only want to see dragons for shows like this which Dunk & Egg and Robert’s Rebellion will not have. From June 16 - August 4, 2024 was still a fun ride! More GRRM fun rides in the upcoming years. Mark your calendars for June 15, 2025. I can’t wait to see Baelor Targaryen next summer. And hoping for some Brynden Rivers. Those are two of my top 3 favorites. It’s Rogue Prince, Lord Bloodraven, and Breakspear as my ASOIAF trifecta. Love those three. In the end, no matter how disappointed you were with S2 or The Finale That Never Was which wasn’t supposed to be the finale in the first place, we all know damn well you are all tuning in for S3 by 2026. It’s not like The Boys S4 and Cobra Kai S6 Part 1 impressed much either and don’t get me started with The AcoShite. Perhaps the strikes affected them, but this hasn’t been a great year for television. GRRM’s lore will eventually reach Star Wars territory with their toxic fandom. It will reach a point when longtime ASOIAF fans can no longer enjoy the show because everyone on TH-cam wants to be the next Drinker and be part of the Fandom Menace that trashes anything with Leftist beliefs. All they do is hate watch and overhate like they did to The Acolyte. Better off staying away from social media when shows like this airs. The most anticipated event remains the Battle Above the Gods Eye. You can hate S2 but we know you’re waiting for the most badass exit/“death” you will ever see for any fictional character. He might be written as a soy boy in S2, but he’s going to be GOAT’d after we see that scene. It’s the 1998 Michael Jordan shot.
Nothing went wrong with Season 2 it perfectly showed us the events that lead to the Dance of the Dragons, we were never gonna go from season 1 straight to the Dance of
what's with all these trash seasons lately, the boys season 4 had basically the same exact season where it's feet are stuck in the mud and in the last few minutes of the finale we finally start to see what we wanted to see.. anyway anyone seen the ark show? it's so bad that you just gotta see it, but hey at least they're trying..unlike these other shows that are phoning it in with million dollar budgets
Your content is seriously underrated man
They wasted Daemon
No they didn’t you clearly don’t get what they were doing with Harranhall then

HBO cut budget and two episodes after show was already written. Miguel Sapochnik left as co show runner. Ryan Condal sucks. Disaster of a season.
