I'd like to add some ideas with some light spoilers This season's latter half being empty, and lacking two more episodes means if they stick to the book plot, there is still so much for them to complete until the supposed final 4th season, with season 3 likely needing five or six major battles to ensure the pace keeps up with the book plots. Also Alicent and Rhaenyra being these vacillating characters was my least favourite characters, where it seems they were determined to strip, especially their female characters, all the players of the game of any agency and letting accidents dictate the plots. My least favourite moments were those two awful meetings between Rhaenyra and Alicent given it makes no sense one would conscionably let the other go, particularly in the Sept scene, given if it, as the show pushes through Rhaenys, is that women solely seek peace and men are warmongers, Alicent arresting Rhaenyra at the Sept = execution and war's end, because Jacaerys loses his mother and ally, and likely competes with Daemon, the Black faction collapses - Greens win
@@Lotsoftrains2192 Completely agree with everything here with your view on the issues with the latter half of the season, and then the writing issues with Rhaenrya and Alicent. It actually hit me right after finishing the season that season three is basically going to be a massive culmination of all these different battles from the book and I definitely think it's going to become incredibly overwhelming and stale very quickly. All this could be avoided if they added two more episodes and spread out season two more neatly but🤷🤷🤷 I guess it is what it is at this point. Also I completely agree with the two Rhaenrya/Alicant meet ups, it made zero sense for them to even do it in the first place, plus there's no way either of them would've made it out alive if those scenes were written by GRRM.
