Tommy, I like your coverage of rides! It's nice to listen to you!

I love your custom "buttons" on the center console!!! Made me giggle!
Haha thanks! I hate blanks
It's amazing to see the stability of a Cayman on track...great driving buddy!!!
Thanks! It was amazing
Really enjoy watching your video again.
Would strongly recommend you invest in a race harness as it is quite noticeable how much your upper body moves when cornering, which places more loads on your hands, wrists & arms.
Once fitted properly, you will notice how much difference it makes. You will feel much more in what the car does & be one with the car. With less effort in trying to keep your body seated your lap times will improve being more focused on the balance & feel with the car, including the ability to react quicker in situations.
From memory Schroth makes good race harnesses & Porsche has a factory harness bar for the Gt4 that can fitted easily.
I tend to find that your best times are achieved when driving at 8 tenths pace, when your driving is much smoother, which may seem & look slower, but the lap times are much quicker.
Driving at 10 tenths, usually find that the driver is overdriving the car & upsetting the balance resulting in understeering/oversteering resulting in a slower lap time.
Thanks for the great points. I will absolutely look into it!
Tommy, what track is the most beginner friendly in our area (NY NJ CT). Id like to try a track day this coming spring.
Awesome driving...Porsche seems to be next car for BMW owners. Could you make a video for Race chrono and footage overlay? Thanks.
Awesome video man, love the on board commentary
Thanks !!!
have you done a porsche vs M overview (performance, livability, costs)? Appreciate your thoughts very relatable
Good work quitting before you make a big mistake. At my local tuning days we're all usually tapped out (or retired due to mechanical issues) by 3pm - including the race cars. That means the last hour is all yours if you are still fresh enough and want to get some hot laps in with no traffic.
And always a great bunch of people at the track. Not too much ego or snobbery
I like to be cautious. It’s an expensive hobby so it’s better to be careful
Nice video! This is a 2 year old video, but do you remember… if it was 105 degrees en route to the track? Or is the track a lot hotter than the surrounding area (due to heat reflecting off the racetrack pavement, or other factors)?
So track was hotter than outside. Quite unbearable
I wish the new Porsche sedans came in a manual
I know. Imagine a manual sport Turismo
I did the intermediate group this Thursday and almost pissed myself How do you become so good?
Lots of seat time and plenty of years spent with an instructor
What helmet are you using? Great audio and thanks for the video.
Thanks. Great insights....
Glad it was helpful!
Another great video! Any advice for mounting a GoPro in a Boxster for track days? I haven’t found a good solution yet. Would your custom cross bar work on a Boxster?
I suggest you get a glued-on GoPro mount and place it anywhere behind you. That's the best solution honestly.
@@TommyLGarage Okay. Hopefully it will stick well to plastic. I'll try it. Thanks!
Very helpful, thank you
Glad it was helpful
Great video Tommy
Thanks man
Thanks for the vid.
What app/hardware are you using that shows the speedo and everything on-screen like that? And, what helmet are you using?
I just linked the helmet for you in video description.
Application is called: RaceChrono Pro
@@TommyLGarage Yup. I realized after the fact. Now, I'm trying to find a dongle that works with it. And, how much it will all cost.
Nice, can’t wait to take my new to me mini to the track. Did you beat your time from your last track day?
Thanks! and yes I did :)
How hot was it? Im going to English town roadcourse with my M66 S60R and i hope it wont be too hot
It was 105 at its hottest. Car did great.
S60R will have issues. Haldex pump will overheat and you’ll be in front wheel drive. Ask me how I know
@@TommyLGarage thanks hopefully thats not on the agenda
What did you think of the bmw Laptimer compared to racechrono?
RaceChrono is easier to use
Do you have a short shifter installed? Would you recommend ppf before getting into tracking?
Yes I do have the oem short shifter. It’s amazing. And no ppf needed for the track honestly.
I like PPF for the windscreen to avoid cumulative pitting and taking the rubber shots. Cost is roughly $500 to $600 installed using STEK windscreen-specific film. Cons include scratching due to debris from wiper use and potentially mild distortion depending on windscreen curvature.
how many track days did those re71rs last?
8 total days for me. Which was pretty good
Super Tomek.
Dzieki!
Ciekawy odcinek i samochód pozdrawiam
Dzięki jak zwykle za oglądanie!

Huh?
my wrists are hurting just by watching him.
Dang…24 oz’er. Must take a cement truck backing over you to wake you up.
Haha. Hilarious
Retta Locks

Your cornering definitely needs work.
