Gotta love the "G" series of CPUs from AMD...... a great starting point for budget builds with room to upgrade to a dedicated GPU later on if needs be. Thanks Mike and Kath.
i actually got my hands on a 5600G for the price of the 4600G last week because of a pricing mistake in our local store here in belgium , they priced them the same , 89 euro's for a 5600G was a steal, gonna drop into a Gigabyte B550 DS3H with a loose 6600xt i got second hand a while back, nice little budget gaming pc
I've just got all the bits for a budget pc using the B550M DS3H with the 4600g (to upgrade to the 5800x in about 4 months time) using an XFX RX 580 GTS xxx. Just about to build it now. I will be using it as a video editing PC. The whole thing cost me less than £420. Looking forward to seeing what I can get out of it.
What a great little processor to start your budget build with. My 3200g impressed me, and I'm an intel guy. Currently as of writing this... Amazon US has the 4600g for $90.00. That's for a six core CPU with great graphics! I'm tempted to upgrade my 3200g. Great review as always Mike and Lady Kath. Take care. Cheers
@rickh8380 Rick can I ask what all the parts are in your 3200G setup as I have the 2400G and its been a nightmare for over 2 years with various crashes
I have this CPU for my first PC build (April '23). Paired it with a 5600xt from a brand called 51Risc coz it was on sale for about $120, the Toasty Bros has a video about them. Total build cost about $480 in Philippine Peso. Pretty satisfied with the performance for my needs.
I'm on my way to upgrade my Athlon to this, seems fun and a good value overall. Yes a 5600G would be better, but it has a pretty massive price difference here, and topped by the recent hard spike on top. Thank you for the video.
I still have my old 2200g though i used an rx 580 with it .Battlebit remastered should run really well the fps game that lots of people are playing it even has a potato setting .
I have yhe pro version of this processor, the 4650g in my gf system, and for the task, it is a very competent cpu that is running troublefree for more than 3 years now.
I had the 4500 non g In a cheap system i was messing about with and it was great, pretty fast, amazingly efficient and cool. Had a 5600g too was darn good. Honestly great chips for the price. Unless your slapping a high end gpu together with it you don't need more...and if you're doing that you missed the point of them.
Amazing cine23 performance on par with my R5 3600, plus graphics that can play games pretty well! Bargain cpu for htpc imo. Thanks for reviewing Mike and Kath 🐈👍
When many shops are selling AMD 5600g, i managed to find one big computer distributor shop on the top floor and they have AMD 4600g and I think they bought it online at Amazon buy 3pcs amd 4600g got 10% discount with free delivery but amd 5600g is at least 150sgd dollars more so i bought AMD 4600g. I am intel customer so do not want to take risk buy expensive AMD 5600g and ownself assembly the whole PC because Intel CPU fan assembly is different from AMD screw fan assembly. Now with AMD 4600G, i playing online games like dota 2,CSGO @1080p, PlayStation 2 games and watching youtube movies at 2160p 4k resolution through HDMI connect to Akira LED HD TV and the greatest thing is you do not need to buy a 4k blu ray player. Guys, remember to apply new thermal paste after 1.5 to 2 years because the thermal paste given by AMD will vaporize and left with only little bit of thin layer & dry thermal paste which is no good for AMD 4600G and strange artifact or lag will appear due to the dry thermal paste. Recommended to buy cheap thermal paste from coolermaster.

Seen the benchmarks aswell for the 5600G afaik it consumes way more power than 4600G but for little gain. Might wanna wait for the newest 8600G.
@@xirruz well I already did lmao, but thank you. I am in fact aiming for AM5 but not in any near future.

the 5600g is getting awfully close on price as well
It's still 15% in my area is the jump worth it?
@AnimishDeo thanks!
@AnimishDeo yea sadly the price don't always correlate to performance upgrade

Honestly, even in terms of raw power the 4600G is a vastly underlooked CPU
People have been telling me it was a bad choice, but the specs were nearly identical to others like the 5 3600, and it was cheaper where I got it.
got overshadowed by successor 5600G
Question; I currently have a AMD Ryzen 5 2600 and a Nvidia 2060 (with 16 gbs of Ram). Would it be worth it to swap out my 2600 for this chip?
probably not really, better to go with 5600 or even 3600
g series is for starter who didn't have dedicated gpu
I have 2070 + r5 4600g but i got only 200 fbs on CSGO 2 on low why?
cs2 on low is going to the taxing the CPU. the 4600g is a cut down processor so the 2070 is probably not being used as much as it could.
